The room is very spacious, modern and well-maintained, matching Intercontinental standard. Service is ok, maybe a bit warm would be appreciated. There're wide range of food and dining options, good for business stay.

As said almost perfect, but how come all the restaurants close at 9.30? I was very disappointed. There is a room service that provides a vast selection. Good breakfast, dissent size gym and outstanding rooms make a good choice. Will come back again.

This hotel is very grand and not particularly expensive, although watch the newly imposed government taxes. Rooms are spacious and well appointed and the beds are very comfortable. However, the hotel seems to be poorly insulated for sound - not from outside but from adjoining rooms. There was a family of three or four next door and I could hear them far too clearly. When they ran water into the bath it was so loud it sounded as if I had my own tub running. I went downstairs to complain and th... Read more

The hotel is very beautiful and reasonably priced. If you are by any chance visiting WPP Campus this is a great choice as WPP is just 100 m away. There's wagas next door for a quick bite and some great fresh juices and coffee. The room specially the bathroom were exquisite. Now if you are vegetarian specially from India - Food is going to be a tough one. There's some options on the in-room dining but apart from that I was not able to find any Indian restaurant in vicinity during my stay. Do not ... Read more

Had a lovely, clean room while traveling as part of a tour group. Nice city views from the higher floors. The rooms are large with good bathrooms. We ate in the main downstairs restaurant. Good breakfasts, clean, with nice service. The dinner buffet was a good bargain at 2 for the price of one and all the beer you could drink. Lovely lobby area.

Check in 30 and out 31 May. Stayed in previous local 5 star hotels before checking in Intercontinental Puxi. And indeed, local vs international 5 Star classification is indeed vastly different. Room is clean, spacious and exquisitely decorated. Feels very comfortable and luxurious. Toilet is divided into 2 areas - shower and WC. Shower area is fully stocked with amenities. I love the Shower gel, facial soap and shampoo! Nice fragrance. WC is installed with fully automated bidet. Wonderful... Read more

Overall a very nice and impressive hotel. The lobby is nicely decorated, the room was very spacious, modern and nice. It is close to metro station and lots of restaurants close by. It has a great bathroom with roof shower system big enough for many people. Breakfast selection was good. It was not perfect as the tile floor in the room was dirty. One can see scuff marks on the floor and slippers feel sticky and make squishy noise when walking on the floor- something that housekeeping need to be do... Read more

This is a great hotel in Shanghai near embassy area. Room size and amenities are very good. Breakfast was excellent providing a good variety of eastern and western options and a good selection of coffee beverages (latte, cappuccino). The only issue that some members of my group encountered was that our key cards became inactivated one afternoon, but the front desk quickly remedied the situation.

My Ambassador weekend night certificate is about to expire hence like to book this hotel in Shanghai while I am in Shanghai. The hotel was nicely decorated and fitness center and swimming pool were great. But I think there is something missing, which made me wondering whether I should stay this hotel when I am back to Shanghai or recommend to others. Check-in: After a disastrous stay at a sister hotel near this hotel, went to this hotel. The waiting line was long, and needed to wait for a lo... Read more

Spent 2 nights here on my 4th trip to China. Very convenient for our offices next door ;-) The rooms are large, spacious and very clean. Bed very comfortable. Spent a while in the Spa and Gym, with a large rectangular pool - good for doing lengths, a sun terrace and a good Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. Took the buffet dinner and there is a wide selection to suit all tastes - with what looked like a free portion of lobster. Breakfast again was buffet style and I will be back to the hotel again ... I am Platinum Ambassador of IHG. Before I flew to Shanghai, the hotel called me sending their greetings and welcome, and then told me that my room was upgraded already. When I did the check-in, they gave me complimentary gift and drink voucher at the lobby bar. The hotel is amazing: magnificent grand lobby, great new interior design, comfortable bed and bath, new and up-to-date facility. The gym is large and great, very good facility. However the pool is a bit too deep for me.

I stayed here this week. It was a long drive from the main train station and cab driver took me to wrong places despite me showing him the Hotel name, picture and address. When I arrived at 4 pm, my room wasn't ready. I was upset that the hotel staff weren't helpful when I called them to direct the cab driver. Stefano stepped in and took care of the situation. I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. To my surprise, I didn't expect such a poor service from a 5 star hotel like Intercontinental! No porter helps you with your luggage when you arrived. Excuse very simple, they have many guests arriving that day, not enough porters and concierge around! Moreover, the front desk staffs are very rude! Everything about this hotel is nice-- the rooms, the public areas, the restaurants. The buffet breakfasts and dinners in the main restaurant are excellent. The only downside is that, while the surrounding areas are OK, they are not inviting. The hotel is not near the primary tourist attractions. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my stay. Get a room as high up in the hotel as possible.
