The Ibis chain hotel are similar anywhere in the world, so you know what to expect. This hotel is well located, near the Yuyuan Garden, a 10 minutes walk from the nearest metro station (Yu Garden ‚?? exit 1). Near, there are shops, restaurants and a supermarket (Tesco) . The hotel does not have a restaurant only serves breakfast at the Bar . The room is small, as expected with a hard bed as usual in China. Unfortunately, tobacco smell is everywhere including in non-smoking rooms. Small bathroom... Read more

We stayed one night here and we're very disappointed. I booked a room with a window but the window was small, had blinds and there was an outside grill so very little light got through, the room lighting was poor making the room dark and grim. We gave up trying to connect to the Wi-fi. The room was clean and the beds comfortable but there was an awful smell in the shower room which came from the drains and every where smelled of cigarette smoke. Breakfast buffet had limited selection, floor was ... Read more

The Hotel is typical IBIS budget Hotel, supposed to be value for money so i didnt read other people's reviews before booking it because i knew and trusted the IBIS brand... I should have read the reviews. This IBIS in Shanghai Yu Garden, 85, Zhoujin Road, Shanghai 200011 does not do justice to the IBIS brand AT ALL. At night time, call-cards of half-naked women are slipped under your door. This isn‚??t the first hotel that I have experienced this in China, however I have stayed in various IBIS ... Read more

I've been at Ibis Yu Garden several times during the years and I'm always satisfied. Staff is speaking English, rooms are standard Ibis and do not reserve surprises. Wi-fi is available too. Location is downtown, walking distance by subway. I bet you cannot find anything better and safer in town for this place!

Being a loyal Accor member I may be biased but I feel I'm compelled to give a 5 star review for this hotel. The trainee front desk staff at the reception was very attentive and capable of problem solving and having great initiatives in giving suggestions (very rare quality among Chinese employees). We're on a business trip where we have 4 rooms and everyone arrived different times. This lady handled everything very well. No complaints from my colleagues, my room was excellent. Spotlessly clean. ... Read more

This hotel only has one thing going for it and that's the location. That was the sole reason we booked it to be around the Yu Garden area. Everything else is absolutely terrible and if the hotel internet was any good and we could connect properly we would have probably booked elsewhere. After arriving from 16hrs of transit at 9pm at night all we wanted to do was sleep. The room was tiny The hall way was like a runway with kids running up and down it all night making heaps of noise and their pa... Read more

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The rooms were a bit small but very comfortable. The continental breakfast is delicious and the location is key to visit all important places in Shanghai. Keep in mind that you can take the Shanghai Metro to reach the hotel and walk only a few steps.

After travelling almost 40 hours in total you do not appreciate unsmiling reception staff. I can never understand why a deposit is needed if you paying cash then again they may assume you running off with linen which in the case of this "hotel" which is more like a POD, NO THANK YOU, they can keep their smoke-infused linen. The room was extra tiny and the entrance to the bathroom was 1/3 less than a standard door's width. This was the smallest room I have ever stayed in China since 2004. ONLY Ch... Read more

I booked 3 nights here considering the name Ibis and near to tourist area of Yu Garden and The Bund, but seems far below expectation. The room is small and smell like someone just smoking in your room every time you get in. the housekeeping also very unacceptable. After went out in the next morning, we found out the bed still exactly the same condition as we leave it in the morning. the housekeeper seems get in the room to replacing the towels and drinking water only. The next day the bed are ... Read more

place is clean ,tidy sometimes bit noisy especially on holidays .The best floor is 6Th.The fifth floor can be noisy ,avoid the rooms next to the elevator. The new coffeeshop that opens soon can be an extra card for this hotel. The big problem can be internet ,but many places suffer this problem......Beds can be a bit hard for western people so ask some soft bed padding.Breakfast about 58 rmb now quite tasty and in nice restaurant .Communication starts to improve at reception going from good engli... - At arrival, we checked in the room 517. When we entered the room, it was not ready and totally unclean. - In the evening, we received under the door advertisement for prostitution service, even in the room of the kids !!! - The towels were with hair inside. - In the night from 17 to 18.09, the air conditioning stopped to work. - Even the price of the breakfast was told at check in, the indication on the board at the entrance of breakfast was unclear and brought us misunderstanding. It was writ... Read more
