Never I had stayed in a Holiday this bad. I have been here since April 9 and one week later still do not have air-conditioned services. I had complained 4 times. Once a service men came to check but when the manager already knew that the air conditioning was not working. An small loud fan was provided but only circulate the hot air in the room . At night is umbearable to sleep and being intimate with this heat becomes a challenge .I hope someone contact me from the chain to help me resolve th... Read more

I stay frequently in IHG hotels and this is the worst I have encountered. The staff seem friendly enough but the plumbing doesn't work, neither does the air conditioning and the communal areas are not clean. It simply does not do the basic things expected of a hotel. I'm very disappointed

This Holiday Inn will give you just what you expect, but will not surprise you. Good clean spacious room with fine breakfast. Location is good, close to metro, but in Shanghai probably you're going to take a taxi anyway (make shure you've got the adress in Chinese !!, hotelstaff will help you with the note to give to the driver).

On business for 2 days. Very noisy room. People in adjacent rooms making lots of noise after midnight and then at 5am. I had cigarette smoke coming into room from people smoking in corridor and adjacent rooms. It stinks.

What you see is what you get. Good meeting place to left of foyer near bar. Very pleasant and clean room (no smell of cigarette smoke). Good location opposite shopping centre with. Chinese, Japanese and western food outlets. To be honest, would have been 4-star rating had it not been the indifferent staff on day of checkout... Waited 15 minutes to be served while staff attended to phone enquiries - without even acknowledging my presence. But overall, pretty good.

I chose this hotel because his hotel is near to InterContinental Puxi, which is my second hotel in Shanghai. Although I checked that there are mixed reviews about this hotel, I hoped that positive review would materialized rather than the other way. However, I experienced even worse situation than some of rather negative reviews on this site. From the start to the end, it was a disastrous stay. Not sure whether this hotel can keep "Holiday Inn" brand or maybe leaving the chain any timer soon.... Read more

If you are staying in Puxi area of Shanghai, you expect to be as close as possible to Nanjing road or may be on Nanjing road. This hotel is not in Nanjing road. It is about 15 minutes by a taxi to Nanjing road (Taxi is easily available from the entrance of the hotel ). The overall ambience of the hotel is lovely, big huge lobby, nice coffee shop and has a very fresh feel and new look. I stayed over for a weekend early July. In general this hotel is good value for the money. I found the staff very helpful and pleasant at check-in, in the lounge and at breakfast. I got put on the executive floor, which was nice. The rooms seemed new and modern. The feeling of newness was let down a bit by the windows. Due to the hotel design from the top floor (14) you look out under a concrete overhang which looks rough and dirty and seems to prevent the windows from being easily cleaned.... Read more

Hotel Holiday Inn Express, Minhang District, Shanghai 201108 P.R. China. I found this hotel to be below average! I wonder if the IHG group really carers for its reputation. The reception area was very shabby, full of boxes, papers, files etc. It was as if one is visiting a ware house! The rooms too were below expectations and not clean. Only thing I found good was breakfast.

Located in a central location, the hotel is nice. When i stayed here, it was undergoing renovations. These renovations did not hinder the property, only the exterior. Being a Spire member, the executive rooms are suitable; not great compared to other IHG properties. I would have stayed at the InterCon across the street had this not been a last minute trip. All in all, a quality hotel on a budget. The executive lounge is nice; comparable to many InterCon lounges I have been too. Good food.... Read more

I am in town for medical procedures and needed something central. The staff are helpful, beds are comfortable, and the rooms are clean. If you are too lazy to go out to eat (some choices nearby), I'd say get sherpas delivery. Tons of choices! Excellent value for money. Will definitely stay again.

Daughter paid for us to stay one night on way to Beijing. Building was a building site with sheets on carpet on our floor, the light was hanging out the socket at our room door. The meal we ordered in the third floor restaurant was inedible. That said, the light was fixed as soon as we mentioned it and, after considerable discussion, we were not charged for the meal. The bar and ground floor were in good order and our room was clean and comfortable. Presumably the building issue will come to an ... Read more

We have just completed our stay at the Holiday Inn Downtown, Shanghai for business travel. We stayed there 2 years ago and it has not improved in any areas since my last review. My business associate and I booked 2 "club rooms" which entitle you to a larger room, king bed, free breakfast and happy hour each evening. The location of the hotel is excellent. Within walking distance (5 mins) from Shanghai Train Station and the subway. Breakfast was good. However, the hotel does look very outdated in its exterior and security was a small concern in that you do not need to insert the key card to access the floors. Wifi was bad maybe because I was accessing non China sites.

Very nice hotel in a good location near the Shanghai Railway Station (keep in mind there are 3), and the Line 1 metro around the corner. Rooms are smallish but very nice. Customer service is very attentive and friendly and went out of their way to help us out. Loved the breakfast buffet with many traditional and western choices. I'd stay there again and would heartily recommend anyone to stay at this Holiday Inn. I can't think of anything to deduct a star for, so 5-star it is!

Clean rooms with comfy bed. Bathroom is functional. Good shower but the tub is tiny. Breakfast has lots of choice and is pretty decent value, although that has to be the worst cup of coffee I've ever tasted :-) Soundproofing? Absolute joke. I could hear the dude next door snoring. Why do hotels not get this? Very close to the rail station. Not the worst, but suspect there is better.

A good clean hotel. If slightly sterile. Helpful staff, who arranged cars and train tickets for us and provided all of the info we needed for our stay.
