After staying in a Chinese hotel with hard beds and a less than satisfactory breakfast, I had a wonderful reprieve at the Hongqiao Hilton. I checked in on the third floor of the Executive Building, and was whisked to a beautiful corner Executive King on the 8th floor. Extremely comfortable bed and very nice furnishings. The Executive Lounge was perfect for having meetings and the staff provided tea and coffee for my guests. The Executive Lounge breakfast was extensive and even had ... Read more

After many trips to Shanghai, I finally tried the Hilton property. It is an upscale property with multiple wings of guest rooms. The lobby is a large space, and the restaurant and coffee shops are down a long hall. Though there were quite a lot of people around in the lobby, the lobby atmosphere was pretty relaxed and serene the week I was there. I stayed in a standard room wing which felt new and updated. The room was a good size, with a nice free standing work desk which looked out at a l... Read more

Stayed there for 7n on a business trip. The rooms were fairly large and had a well sized table for business travellers on the go. Wifi connection was excellent too. Restaurants downstairs were excellent too. ( i tried both the international and chinese restaurant) The only grouse was the location as it was far from most touristy spots when i ventured out over the weekend to city centre and the cab ride took my more than 30mins All in all, highly recommended for work trips if sightseeing is... Held a wedding reception in one of their banquet halls (mine was one of 4 weddings that night). Our dressing room managed to be as far from our banquet hall as possible, at opposite ends of the hotel lobby. Our wedding suite was fabulous except they couldn't separate smoking and non-smoking. My wife and I don't smoke. We had a non-smoking room. Our neighbors across the hall smoked so much that the smell wafted into our room. Not even the AC helped. I've stayed in many Hilton's across the world and in China, this ranks as one of the best. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Restaurant is very good and breakfast has a wide selection of food for all tastes. I also found the wifi to be excellent in the rooms, however as in most Hilton's I seem to have varying results using a VPN, sometimes it works and other times not. Room was large and spacious. Located 10 minutes walk from Foreigner Street and 20 minutes from the metro system.

For what it's worth, Hilton Shanghai Hongqiao lives up to its premise. Located in the new upmarket neighborhood of Gubei, it rests in between Hongqiao transport hub and downtown Shanghai, next to a driving range / country club. Competence of staff speaks for itself, at least matching that of other Hilton properties. Loved the room! It was big and spacious. Equipped with a bathtub that is very well maintained. No stains was found. Service was alright. We had to call the operator twice before housekeeping came up. And the toilet flush became faulty on the 3rd day of our stay. Location is not near city, so it's suitable for business stays but not so much for sightseeing. But the room layout and facilities made up for all of it. It still deserved the 4 star.

Wifi was OK (not great, but experienced a lot worse/slower). Had breakfast every day and restaurant offered excellent selection of (also) western food.Had dinner in restaurant once, was good (there is a buf... Read more

I spent three nights in Hilton Shanghai Hongquiao in October and really appreciated the hotel. My room was very very nice and soaceous, clean and quiet. There is a great gym that allow me to train and enjoy a hard core body building session. In my personal opinion the Gym of hotel is perfect, and it makes the difference with other hotel. The food in the all day dining restaurant is good and they have a good selection of wines. The staff of the hotel is truly nice and gentle with guest and I aoprrciate... 1. Staff in this hotel are poorly trained and do not have service culture in mind. 2. My room thermostat was fixed at 27degrees celcius or 81 Fahrenheit. Adjusting the thermostat does nothing to the room temperature. Thus, I had to endure the heat as the aircon is centrally controlled by the hotel. 3. Visited the Chinese restaurant twice and on both occasions, the service was horribly slow and deplorable. I was left standing at the corridor for 10mins before anyone took us to our table. On... Rooms are clean and comfortable. Restaurant (breakfast) is complete but most of the options were not fitting our taste (it's more east Asian flavors) The only issue we faced was that we were 3 persons and they added an extra bed which made the room no place to walk. I was expecting they give us a bigger room with capacity of adding an extra bed (instead of trying hardly to fit a bed inside a normal double room)!

I recently visited the hotel as part of a business trip to the region. This included a conference at the hotel too. The room was in one of the tower (tower 1) and had twin beds with a small seating and work area. The overall room was open plan with the bathroom open to the room. The bathroom did have glass panels and curtains if you wanted to screen it off. The Essence and Pulse restaurant and bar were very nice. In the Essence restaurant there is a wide range of food and one colleague was als... Read more

Having accidently left our iPad at security in Xi'an airport when leaving for Shanghai, the concierge of Hilton Shanghai Hongqiao got in touch with lost and found in Xi'an airport , managed to track it down, we got a case number and were able to get it back to the Hilton in Beijing with help from the Hilton staff in Xi'an. Concierge and staff were also very helpful to arrange train tickets last minute, with great advice about what to see and do. Can recommend it very much.

Stayed here 4 nights back end of October room 11321. Good size room, excellent amenities, all the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Quite nice to be staying on Halloween, because all the staff dress up and got into the spirit. Breakfast food selection very extensive, and good bar area to relax after work. When staying away I tend to use the leisure facilities, this was not the case this time due to work loads, though I did find the pool which looked very inviting. I would recocommend this H... I love this hotel, the rooms are huge, comfortable and very clean. I always get a great rest while staying here. Make sure to upgrade so you can use the Executive lounge. Coming back to these rooms after a long day makes these trips much better.

I usually stay in this Hilton lately for convenience .... but also for good reasons. Its really a nice place, most people speak good English at the front desk, the rooms in Tower 3 (recommended) are very nice and super functional and the Happy Hour in the lounge is all you need after a long day at the office.

Good amenities and friendly staff. Not so far from Honqiao airport and a short ride to foreigners street. Ordered room service and the food was good quality and efficient. Only complaint is that I booked and paid online, but was charged again on check out. Partly my fault, I didn't check the bill. Hopefully they will sort this out.

The best value for my money each time I visit Shanghai, without a doubt. Being so close to Hongqiao airport and railway station it's the easiest and smoothest option to use Shanghai as home base and make day trips to other surrounding cities. Staying at the Hilton Shanghai Hongqiao I can experience Chinese hospitality with a western touch in the facilities throughout the hotel. The employees are all very courteous and efficient. When having breakfast at their buffet make sure and ask for "fresh ... Read more

We arrived at the hotel at 3:30 pm but our rooms were not ready. We were told to wait as they didn't know when the rooms will be ready. My friends hadn't booked the executive room with lounge access so I suggested that my friends and I could wait there and have a cup of tea. It took them a while to give them the lounge pass. Which should be a given fact when you have no idea when the rooms would be ready. At 5:30 pm we went down to check if we could finally get out rooms and they said that the ... Read more

Check-In very smooth and friendly staff. Room is very nice and large, got a deluxe room with company rate. Wifi in the room is hit and miss, keeps on disconnecting. Heard from my colleague that stayed 2 weeks before that the buffet dinner was going down hill so ordered in. Room service food was OK, nothing special but pricey, the Yeung Chow fried rice needs work for the price being charged, tried to ask for something else but the guy taking the call didnt even understand the room service menu...
