I'm a tour leader who lives in china and this hotel is one of the mains that we always choose in Shanghai, u can call the hotel a good 4 star hotel which has a good access to shopping mall, and restaurants surrounding. Near to hotel is Changfeng aquarium. 15-20 min walk to subway, which makes it a bit not easy. And 30-40 min drive to city center such as tv tower area while no traffic, around 1 hr drive from PVG airport half an hour from Hongqiao airport

This is a nice place with all the modern amenities you would expect of a luxury hotel. The staff is polite and everything is clean and well maintained. They offer a good breakfast that offers a variety of eastern and western foods. The location is the only reason I didn't rate it better. It is adjacent to a large modern shopping center and a nice large park, but it is a bit out of Shanghai. The nearest metro stop is a 30 minute walk, it was a little inconvenient to get to and from.

Good location, food, shopping and groceries just across the street. Breakfast buffet have plenty of choices. Took a taxi to the Shanghai Museum, cost less than $10 equivalent for 4 people. Plenty of transportation choices to downtown. We were here to join a escorted tour so there was not enough time to enjoy the hotel's facilities fully.

This hotel is indeed classy and the staff is friendly. Room is clean and bed is nice and comfy too. Breakfast spread is generous and enough variety for many sorts of diet preference. Location of hotel with respect to city central is the reason for me not giving it its last star. It's about 7km from the bund and a good ten minute walk to its nearest train line 13. Having said that, there are 2 fairly large malls just next to the hotel and there are many big brands for food and shopping in ... Read more

The room was perfect for two. Nothing too fancy, but comfortable and convenient to return to after long days of exploring! English was a little tricky with some of the staff, but they were very friendly and accommodating.

My cousin found this five star hotel for me on line last year because it happened to be very near the Bank of China that I had to visit. I was really surprised at how much I was getting for the price I was paying. It is situated a bit far from the center of Shanghai, in the south end. However, it has all the luxury of a decent five star. I think the hotel is only built four years ago. I was amazed that the indoor swimming pool was really heated. The locker room is not too fancy but it ... Read more

Lovely hotel room with great view over the Chang park. Breakfast menu was varied and delicious. The hotel is very convenient in walking distance to a supermarket, cafés like Starbucks and the French chocolate cake store, malls and even the park. The park closeby offers a wealth of family oriented fun. Boat rides and amusement type activities for children and families, couples dancing for the older people, fishing, art and beautiful scenery. The Hotel runs a free bus drop off where we wen... Read more

This hotel is an excellent value for money proposal. My Shanghai office is across the road from this hotel. Lot of eating places near to this place in the shopping mall. Metro line is about 1km distance. I used to walk and get in to the metro. Nice restaurant and bar too Full marks from a business traveler :-)

I stayed at this hotel for two nights while I was in Shanghai for a Conference. Was pleasantly surprised by the contemporary decor of the room with a spacious layout of the furnishings. I had to fiddle with the auto switches for the curtains and lights for a while before figuring out the system. Huge tv screen with gd variety of english based channels for viewing pleasure and the attached bathroom was simply great to just hang out in. An indoor pool is also available in the hotel should one crav... Read more

Far from city but close to hongqiao terminal, decided to Stay for one night because of its proximity to business partner office at hongqiao, taxi drivers didn't know its address, moreover its name in chinese could be misunderstood as guofeng something confused with taxi drivers and they won't find it easily, just say close to changfeng park and they say guofeng not guoman again! though we booked two single bed room, they gave only one complementary breakfast at first, but upgraded to two for fre... Spent 3 nights as part of a 2 week Gate1 tour. The property is attractive and well laid out, appearing at first to be an upscale venue. Unfortunately it doesn't measure up to appearances. Aside from the wonderful breakfast service, most other features of the hotel fall far short of expectations. The bar on the main level was undermanned, with no bartender in sight for long stretches of time. The restaurants appeared to run similarly, with the matre d acting as waiter, server and bus boy. this is a very good hotel with all that you need for rest, food, and enjoy. but if you want to go to Shanghai to buy things, to visit the popular places and meet culture, its not aproppied. the subway is two bloks far from there and you can easily go to the place you want, but as a tourist time is an important asset and you could save money and time staying in a closer hotel even the guide of my tour said, i dont know why did they sent you to this hotel, its so far away. but, anyway, its a very ... You would not want to stay at this hotel unless you have a reason to be in this area. But it is a very good and comfortable hotel, friendly staff. Transportation is inconvenient - it's a 15-yuan taxi ride & then 10 stops on Line2 to Nanjing Rd/Bund area. Shanghai subway can be crowded. There is a mall opposite with some chain restaurants (Ajisen, subway, KFC, etc) but it's a rather boring place. However, the room is excellent and comfortable, good wifi, AND convenient international plug points... Read more

The hotel is located in a residential area, not close to the sights downtown. It is across from a lovely park where in the morning people do tai chi and in the afternoon karaoke. The hotel is a western style and all members of the staff spoke English. ( Made it so much easier for us). We had dinner in the main dining room, this is the same room as breakfast. It was very good and the service was wonderful. Breakfast is great, Nice buttery croissants, a wonderful bread type pudding, pa... Read more

I was here for a work trip, which involved a conference in the venue next door. The hotel did not offer the quality that I would expect for the rates they charge. The reception desk is often slow to respond, don't talk English that well. The breakfast is okay, but at a 3-star level I would say. The lobby and rooms are luxurious in a Chinese way (lots of mirrors and chrome details) but starting to become worn out in places. And the location is quiet and well kept, but far from the city centre's a... Read more
