The service can't even be worse. The concierge staff is not helping at all, they couldn't make reservation for taxi even when we told them a day previous, almost caused us missed the flight. As to altitude, I didn't see any kind of serenity, no apologies at all. Really horrible experience and worst holiday inn ever been.

This is a very well appointed hotel with a good location relative to the airport and shopping. It seems to cater mostly to Chinese judging from the buffet and lack of anything English (CNN channel not working, apparently a contract problem) or staff who have had English language customer service training. Holiday Inn is an IHG US company franchise - it should not carry this name if it cannot do better in English. English language TV channels should be a must in the franchise agreement; Fitnes... First to remember is the brand: this is a Holiday Inn not a Hilton or Shangri Lah! Expectations should be in accordance with this fact. Having said this the hotel is quite grand and well appointed, in an almost 5 star style, not the regular Holiday Inn style of establishment, with a huge lobby sporting a confortable sitting area, wide reception area with smiling attendants ( not always found in China) and spacious rooms. Has a swimming pool as well. Executive suites have all you can hope for, i... Read more

Ideally located for what I needed the hotel is close to our office. But the planes do buzz in the day and soundproofing isn't great. Fortunately there is a stop on flights overnight so rest is assured, unfortunately I had got the red eye and was hoping for some rest during the day Rooms are 'American' norms rather than European, so sizeable. Everything is clean and service is prompt. If eating in the restaurant avoid the European dishes, they are not up to much, stay with what they know - the Ch... Read more

Stayed here for 3 nights as I was visiting companies in the area. The hotel is clean and the rooms are good. The only issue is that planes landing at Hongqiao Airport pass right overhead. Like 50 feet overhead. I recommend a room on a lower floor. If you are a light sleeper, the noise may be a problem. Great breakfast buffet.

This hotel is located about 10 minutes drive from the Hongqiao airport and train station. They offer a shuttle service to the airport and station but no pick up service unless you book a car with them for RMB280 (the drop off service is RMB20), so take a taxi from the airport. I booked an executive room with access to the lounge. However the lounge does not open until 2pm, and happy hour from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. The gym is very well equipped. This hotel also caters for large tour groups, and it ca... Read more

Room is clean and large. One bad thing was bathtub. My room didn't have it. (Twin) Breakfast buffet is quite nice. You can use English at front desk and concierge. Laundry service price is reasonable. USD 5 for one shirt. Shopping centers and restaurants are within 5-minute walk distance. 방?? 깨????고 5???? ??? ???? ????? ????고 ??????. ???룸 기??? ??조? ???? ? 빼고?? ??? ????? ??륭????. 조??????? ??? ... Read more

Overall a very nice hotel to stay. My colleagues and I were all upgraded to nice suite rooms. The bed was great, very comfortable indeed. A few small things could be improved like the mini bar only had a beer and a coke, a bit sad. The breakfast was nice but it's a small restaurant catering to a lot of people. Also the selection could be a bit better compared to some other hotels. Overall though very nice hotel

I was stranded at the airport due to bad weather and chose this hotel because of its location. It was a good choice. Echo other reviewers in that the room is cozy, comfy and spacious. Nicely decorated and well-appointed. A big shopping mall is round the corner. Can walk there in ~5 min. The only downside is the noise of the planes in daytime. On their way to land or take off, planes flew by very, very closely. You could not only hear them but also feel their vibration. Luckily, it??s quiet d... Read more

Please note: when you read my previous reviews normally I only report good and great news usually because other locations perform at a much higher level of performance.... Unfortunately today although well intentioned there is the exception at the Holiday Inn in Shanghai Hongqiao.... I arrived late morning and upon arrival I noticed that my room would not cool down... I asked the main desk to have it repaired. I had to run a few errands and asked the main desk to have it completed while I was g... Read more

This is a very nice hotel and only a short drive to both the Hongqiao Airport and Train Station. They have a good breakfast buffet with good service. The only drawback is that the Hongqiao Airport arrival flight path is directly over the hotel and quite close but still easy to live with. Booked my room with C-Trip to save money.

It was a great stay at "Holiday Inn Shanghai Hongqiao" but we had a hard time explaining anything to the hotel staff as there was barely anyone who knew even "Milk" in english. Rooms are Good, Restaurant and Lobby are is also Good, Staff is Very Co-Operative even though they don't know English, A bit far from the Shanghai Pu-dong Airport. Overall it was worth paying for a Stay here. :)

The hotel is nearby Hongqiao airport. It's already 00:30 and I am up because the noise from aeroplanes is non-stop. The soundproof design here is very poor. My secretary picked this hotel as it's nearby the exhibition hall. She obviously did not think about the noise. I had a light dinner at the Chinese restaurant on 2/F. The food was average and the place was so short of staff. I had to wait for a long time before placing an order. The restaurant, which is not managed by Holiday Inn, does no... Read more

Good hotel but isolated location. Near the Hongquia airport but very far from Pudong. Still a good 15-20 minutes to the Exhibition Center. Rate is reasonable though but inflexible if you don't want to include breakfast. We were given a corporate rate since we were attending a Congress at the Shanghai NECC. A few spoke English so difficult to communicate even in their restaurants. There was one lady at the reception who we had to look for always especially to give instructions to the taxi dri... I stayed here for two nights recently. Room was spacious and clean. The buffet breakfast was more than adequate with lots of options-for local and international food tastes. While the staff were friendly very limited English was spoken. Very close to the airport-maybe 10-15 minutes maximum. Stayed here because it was close to a conference that I attended. While the constant noise from airplanes flying over continuously bothered my colleagues it did not affect my sleep.
