The hotel is very nice, extremly clean and room is comfy and spacious. Housekeeping is good. Breakfast is great especially for westerns. Staff speaks very good english and are very profesional and caring in all they do. They have free shuttle to the airport and also to the Canton Fair during the 3 phases. I will definitely stay here if i will be again in Guangzhou area.

1. location it takes min 25 minutes by taxi or hotel shuttle bus. if trafic Jam it take 40 minutes. Therefore if you need lack of time you must select Crown plaza near airport which is same IHG group 2. reception very professional as usual holiday inn 3. room space is good and bed also confortable. room was well cleaning also. but water pressure was so so. 4. restaurant quite good comparing hotel rate and staff was kind too. tnere are few restaurant near hotel. 5. others if yo... Upon booking I figured this hotel was very near the airport, which it takes 25 minutes to get to. We had a problem catching the shuttle from the airport which comes every hour, at the top of the hour. I recommend asking the girls at the inside airport information booths to call the hotel and tell them you are waiting. Inside the workers are not cordial and act if giving you information is not their job. the Holiday Inn is a very nice property which our room had a shower and a tub with bath salts... Read more

This property is really far way from all city activities. Very good place to live if you are willing not to go any any where. For night stay this is ok but for sure a bad choice if you want to visit city. Taxi from this hotel to city center will cost you around 150 RMM.

I frequently stay at IHG hotels and this was by far the very worst experience. It was advertised as an airport hotel. But that it is absolutely not. At 12.30am with no traffic, it took me 20 minutes to get to the hotel. It's in the middle of nowhere, far from the city and not that near the airport. To get into the city, I cannot get an Uber because this area is so desolate. I need to get a taxi and the hotel says there is an additional RMB40 fee for the taxi to turn up. For a half an hour ride i... Read more

Maybe it is too mean of me to rate it 2 stars, at least the hotel is new and the room is not bad... but I really want to express my frustrations during my stay. And the first is: it's not an airport hotel! it's not an airport hotel! it's not an airport hotel! it's not even close to the airport!!! The shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel runs every hour, which doesn't make any sense for an airport hotel. But it makes sense for the hotel, because the airport-hotel drive is 25 min! (It takes... Read more

Firstly,it's NOT an airport hotel! Takes 30mins atleast on a shuttle bus (there are no taxis! No public transport! No other food to eat except in the ONE restaurant!) So, if you want to go into Guangzhou,it will take you 1.5h to get there door to door, the road to the airport has many construction trucks and is very uncomfortable and bumpy. If you stay here for 12 hours while you wait for a flight it's ok, the room is clean and bed is comfortable. Anything longer and it's not suitable. Don't e... Read more

The hotel is about 30 minutes away from the airport. It has large modern rooms but no handles or slip mats in the shower. There is complimentary bottles of water but the mini bar in the fridge is empty, if you want it filled up, contact reception. Noisy night life and aeroplanes flying in during the early hours will keep you awake! Menu choice in the restaurant is poor apart from breakfast buffet which caters for all nationalities. Staff are not bilingual so you either have to speak Chinese or u... Read more

Firstly, a little disclosure - it wasn't a paying night for me, as the hotel was given as part of China Southern Airlines' free transit accommodation programme. :) But nevertheless, this does not skew the review and indeed I am a paying customer of the flight. So, I flew in a day before from Paris, and was on a 15-hour transit through Guangzhou. Definitely, a good night sleep is on my list of things-to-catch-up-on after a long trip around Europe, and indeed oh boy, did this hotel meet the expec... Read more

For visitors flying through Guangzhou, the Holiday Inn provides good comfortable overnight stay. Just a short 30 minute ride from the Airport, the Hotel is not located in a area for shopping or western restaurants. The Hotel provides a shuttle Bus Service for pick up and drop off. meals are available from the hotel. Very comfortable accommodation and friendly service from staff

If your business is in the airport area, this is a well located hotel. Beats the traffic trying to get to the airport from the city. The staff go out of the way to provide support to the guests. It is in a residential area with many utility stores , bakeries and a supermarket. Of course, they cater to the local population and one must not expect a full range of international products. The hotel provides a shuttle to the airport every hour, where you can connect to the metro.

This was a free hotel from Southern China airlines and it was a pleasant surprise. My husband gives it 5 stars. From clean beautiful rooms to good food, great service and great gym overlooking the pool facilities. Friendly staff and fun area to walk around. It was also a quick 20 minute ride back to the airport. Highly recommended if you like luxury and relaxation.

I was only there 12 hours but it was a first class experiience. The internet is good (can connect o Facebook etc for some reason).

I had a 20 hour layover at Guangzhou. China Southern Airlines put me up Free Of Charge at this hotel at their cost because of the 20 hour layover. I heard of travelers being put up at crappy hotels and was quite pleased when they gave me this hotel. Holiday Inn Guangzhou Airport Zone is a bit remote. However, it is in a great location and seriously, if I had more time here, I think it would be an excellent place to just hang out. The rooms were very decent and Holiday Inn brand still re... Another quick visit for a conference. This time we had the experience on how to get to the hotel the quickest and easiest way. We got on a taxi at the Guangzhou east train station and told the taxi to head towards the baiyun airport via airport express, then enter the 'daguang highway' and exit from the 'jungunan' exit. The hotel is literary on the left to it. You can't miss it as you would see a block of golden buildings appeared in the middle of nowhere. It's only 50 mins much quicker than las... Read more

Had a 13 hr layover in Guangzhou through China Southern and was given this hotel as a complimentary layover accommodation. What a great room I got for free! Excellent service from hotel staff topped off the stay. Hotel shuttle to and from hotel is a bit far (30 minutes) but I would definitely stay here again on a layover or just a visit through Guangzhou.

This is the last hotel of our guided tour in Guangzhou. Free shuttle service to the airport. The location is definitely remote, great if only you're flying out, as traffic jam is terrible in the city. The hotel is relatively new, bedding is comfortable. Staff are friendly. My Room was not very clean as I found peanut shell & chips under the bed. Bedroom slippers are flimsy. Buffet breakfast offers variety of western and Chinese food. Overall is ok for a short stay.

I got this hotel as transit accomodation from China southern airlines. It took 30 minutes to reach hotel on bus. Staff is friendly and helpful. Only downside is very limited staff who can understand/speak English. Hotel got restaurant on level 1 which serves buffet breakfast and dinner. There are few shops and restaurants on walking distance from hotel (mostly serving Chinese food).

I had a long layover of 12:30 hours and I got a free accommodation here. The staffs were very friendly and the room has nothing to complain about. I was too tired so I fell asleep quickly and I did not go around to check if things are ok. But from what I've seen it's super clean and everything smells very good. I had dinner at the Chinese restaurant they really surprised me. I ordered fried noodles and i did not know that the portion was that big. I think it's enough even for 3 girls! I paid 51 ... Booked at short notice for a 3 day business trip mainly due to airport proximity. Very definitely out on a limb, but use the shuttle bus to get to the airport and then use the fantastic Guangzhou metro system, (top tip download the Metro app). You will suddenly find its not so out on a limb after all. I was into the city centre in just on an hour at a cost of 7 RMB. Western food offer is a bit shonky, but far from the worst I've ever had. Choices are a bit basis, especially at breakfast. However... Read more

This was such a great stop over for my wife and I. We had a 16 hour layover in Guangzhou and were provided accommodations at this Holiday Inn. This place is lovely, super soft beds, very modern rooms and the staff all were able to communicate in English. There is transport to and from the airport which isn't to far, you should be able to leave the hotel about 2 1/2 hours before your flight an have ample time to get to your gate and grab a bite to eat. We were comped our room through China airlin... Read more
