Part of Hong Kong-based Swire Group's fledgling hotel chain, the Opposite House opened almost a decade ago in Beijing's Sanlitun neighborhood, the capital's high-end retail and dining hub. An antidote to the anonymous chain hotel, the hotel is a small, design-oriented property with sleek rooms and polished service, and is an ideal choice if you're looking for an indelible sense of place. A note on location: Sanlitun is convenient for shopping and dining, but is not within walking distance of ... Read more

The location is perfect. The hotel is a short walk from many of my favorite restaurants and bars. The rooms are very clean, bright and contemporary. All the amenities are included and housekeeping is quick to replace or provide anything you need. Although the rooms are a little minimalist for my perfect score the service throughout more than makes up for it. Frank Fang, the assistant director, was very friendly and on top of everything. From the time I checked in I think the entire staff ... Read more

This hotel is a breath of fresh air in a city full of stuffy old school hotels. This design focused hotel offers modern & contemporary luxury which doesn't compromise on service at all. The staff are great and the technology of this very user friendly. I prefer this location over hotels near the Forbidden City as there are many shops and trendy restaurants near by and its a good escape from the tracky tourist traps near the main attractions. I feels locals would frequent this area, not just tour... Read more

Opposite House has been our first choice of stay since the luxurious brand opened in Beijing 6 / 7 years ago. Now living outside of the city, sometimes it's easier just to stay downtown when meeting with friends or having late business meetings. OH's contemporary look and feel has drawn us back time after time. But it's more about the employees, we just love them. They know us by name and by nature. There's always a gift in the room, or a glass of champagne waiting for us. It's the small details... Read more

This hotel is utterly flawless. The design is like a piece of art - you feel like you're staying in a museum; the rooms are all bamboo with a bamboo tub and stark white - it's beautiful and comforting... not one detail is overlooked. They even have a fully stocked - and refillable for FREE (!) at the touch of your room-provided iPad's button. You want a glass of wine? Order it from the iPad and it arrives in 3 minutes. Need restaurant reservations at the best spot in town? Book it on the iPad an... Read more

It's always good to be back to Opposite House. Everyone there magically remembers your name as soon as you walk in, and no matter it's for business or leisure, I really felt like it's my second home away from home. It's such a warm feeling during the whole stay, and it feels so special maybe because I'm traveling in China? A true precious experience indeed!

Hotel interior and room was well thought out and not cluttered. Great amenities and restaurants. The staff are exceptional and take care of all your requirements for your stay in Beijing. Frank Fang was a stand out! He took care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back to stay at this hotel next time we are in Beijing.

We stayed at The Opposite House for my wife's 30th birthday and the experience was remarkable. At the onset, we received a free upgrade. The hotel's location and Japanese design and architecture is aesthetically appealing. The service is personalised, prompt, warm, and attentive to detail. Everything we requested was well organised and delivered perfectly, they go the extra mile to keep their guests happy. The spa was relaxing. The manager Frank Fang ensured we received the highest quality of se... Read more

Have been for a hen weekend, a trip with my husband and now again with my father in law and husband. Each time service has been amazing, rooms top notch and food very good. Location can be a little traffic ridden but all in all I think a good place to explore Beijing from - good restaurants nearby and on the right side of the city for airport access.
