Liked just about everything about this hotel: location is walking distance (~15 mins) from the Dongzhimen station for those arriving via the Airport Express train, English-speaking front desk staff, good sized room, very reasonably priced, internet access, and the included breakfast was very good. There are a number of dining options close by and the hotel restaurant is a decent option for dinner as well. No complaints!

Very typical of Holiday Inn. Great stay!! Breakfast was mostly Asian food but a good selection of breads. There was also a salad bar and fresh fruit. The coffee was good. The room was clean and we had a Relaxing stay.

cant really complain for the price of the hotel, rooms were good sizes, clean and tidy. Reception staff were fairly friendly although they really struggled with english. Breakfast really not the best. Metro is about a 5 minute walk away and you can pick up taxis very easily from the front entrance.

Situated not far from workers stadium, Sanlitun village and the embassy area this hotel serves as a base for many foreigners. When you arrive at the hotel you start to wonder if you made the right decision choosing this location. The surroundings are very Chinese, small streets, small shops, street vendors etc. but the area definitely has it's charm. In the streets around the hotel you will find both small bars as well as restaurants.A little down the street is a mall and 800 meters away the b... Read more

The Restaurant serves meals at lunch time and in the evenings, instant service, food is served very fast. There is a money changing machine, free, fast Wi-Fi, even laptops in the lobby for the guests?? convenience. I appreciated very much the friendly service at Reception. When I wanted to verify a ... I booked this hotel because a reviewer wrote that it's 5 minutes from the station. I believe he went by shuttle bus. The station is 15-20 minutes walk away so it's tiring if you have luggage to carry. The sidewalks are bumpy and uneven so it's tiring even if your luggage has wheels. The hotel provides a shuttle bus to the subway station between 8.30-10am in the morning. I wish the shuttle bus picks up guests from the station as well because the airport express stops at that same subway station. ... Read more

I had one night stay at Holiday Inn Express in Beijing. I had a very pleasant stay here. The staff was very friendly, they helped me in getting train ticket and booking a trip to Great Wall by a private car. The room was very nice and clean. Breakfast was with limited menue but good enough. The hotel has a beautiful lobby and sitting area. The location is quite central with easy access to restaurants, bars and public transport. Good value for this price.

Stayed 2 separate nights (June 1 & 12, 2016). Was overcharged on both stays. The room on 2nd visit wasn't great. Had the misfortune of having the same person, Amy, serving us on both occasions at the front desk. Her command of English was mediocre & her attitude was worse, with some degree of condescension thrown in. After arguing with her for sometime about the overcharge, we had to ask to talk to a supervisor (Denise) to have the issue resolved. Denise was kind enough to reverse the over... Read more

The property had friendly staff and even had a laundry room, which comes in handy after traveling for a while. My only complaint is the lack of a mini-fridge in the room. I usually stay at the Ritz in Beijing, but was staying with more cost conscious friends. This hotel was clean, comfortable, quiet, well located near sunlitun, easy to walk to bars and restaurants, and a very good value. The beds were soft, unlike many hotels in China at this price. Breakfast was very good. It is a value hotel, so you do need to bring your own conditioner and lotion, (they have soap and shampoo), but for the price, I would absolutely stay there again. While I didn't have the problem of booking since I availed through (and all other previous bookings for my Beijing and Guilin trip), the reason I specifically chose this hotel is because of the proximity to the Forbidden City which you can access by foot. In fact when you walk towards the Palace Museum you will walk through a beautiful Chinese garden which is open 24/7.
