This Holiday Inn Express is a fantastic price for a hotel in Beijing. As such, the quality matches the price. The rooms are clean enough, though they feel dated. Additionally, the location leaves something to be desired if you'll be relying on the subway system and taxis. There are, however, several good buses in the area that will get you where you need to go. Food choices in the area are questionable, but my family is from Shanghai so I find most of the food in Beijing questionable to begin w... Read more

With a few days down time, I moved into this hotel at the last minute. Whilst I was initially unimpressed by a very chaotic check-in and not particularly well-cleaned room, I eventually summarised that its good for the price. The bed was fresh and comfortable and its one of the only hotels I've stayed in where I've actually used the sofa over the desk to sit and work. Overall I slept well and got out after I'd done what I needed to do in the area. Some people have said this is too far from the ... Read more

The hotel is well placed, about a US$5 (20Y) cab ride south of Forbidden City, room was surprisingly larger than was expected, but there is not fridge... which means you drink hot beer as you cannot drink the tap water...ps, also watch for the Taxi Cab fake note scam, they swap your good currency for fake, and say you past it to them...if you have a larger trip, I recommend taking a photo of your serial numbers just in case... also, cab definitely take you the long way if they think you don't kn... Not bad for its price . Not much to say about it either . If you travel on budget, then not bad. People are friendly enough here , it's clean. Easy to get taxi , got free soft drinks for you if you are a member too. Sound proof not that great. Can hear people watching TV. Let's hope you don't have a noisy neighbour.

Room was clean and spacious, no fridge to store drinks, staff were friendly and helpful, buffet breakfast and dinner was lukewarm and not much variety, location was pretty close to major attractions. Like many hotels the dining area was tiled and the constant scraping of chairs as people moved around got on your nerves, they need to .put rubber cushions on chair legs to reduce the noise. The corner store was well stocked with goodies at a reasonable price.

I get it: You're going to China to be immersed in Chinese culture, history, language, food, and all that other good stuff. But at night, you want to be able to sleep, and that means getting something you're familiar with. This hotel had rooms much more comparable in size, lighting, furniture, and arrangement to Western hotels than most of the places I've stayed in Asia. Many members of the staff spoke English well enough to help us with the small issues we had. There is a grocery store (Wu ... Read more

Me and my husband stayed here for almost a week and it was awesome! The room is clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff is amazing and pretty much catered to all of our requests. All smiles, always happy to help and would probably go the extra mile. The breakfast buffet has wide choices of western and Chinese cuisines. Just a little too much oil though. We felt like spoiled little kids during our stay and we will definitely stay in this hotel again should we go back to Beijing. The location... Read more

We stayed here for 2 nights in June. The rooms were OK. They were clean and the bed was comfortable. Hard to get through to reception as their English was only fair. They provided two small bottles of water in the room as the water was undrinkable. This was not enough. Breakfast was only fair with very few choices for non Asians. Tables were not cleared quickly enough and were not clean enough. The position was fine. We didn't try dinner based on breakfast.

Having read a number of reviews on this hotel after we had booked we did have a few reservations, however they were unfounded. Yes the hotel is a distances from a number of the main sites, however as we found so are a large number of hotels in the city. Taxies are really cheap to get about example £5 for an hours journey. (The hour caused by shear volume of traffic not distance) The hotel were also more than happy to book your taxi for you and make sure you have the correct chines spelling o... Read more

This hotel is in a quiet location. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. We stayed for 6 nights and all the staff was very helpful, specially the staff in the reception desk. We stayed 4 nights there in July 2016. Good Things ----------------- Location is great, it is located nearby tourist attraction, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Wangfujing Market. Hotel staffs are friendly and helpful. In-room service and facilities are very good. Bed is comfortable. Free Wifi. Bad Things --------------- We give only two stars rating to breakfast, it has less choices and almost same for everyday. No mini-fridge inside the room.

We took our young kids to Beijing for vacation and stayed in the hotel for 3 nights. We originally didn't choose this one but some other cheaper franchise express hotel at a lower price. But in China not all hotels can accommodate foreigners due to local laws so we had to add a little more to stay at Holiday Inn Express. I found the extra $20 is very well used. The room is clean. The location is a little far from the city centre and the metro is 20 minutes walk but it seemed to take far longer especially with all the transfer of lines - extremely cheap though, £1 average journey. Taxis are far more convenient and cheap (£3-4 to centre during the day) but be careful to not let them take advantage, get them to put the fare on the meter. They'll usually charge you a far higher rate and then evenings its usual for them to double this fare so be ready for this - green taxis... Read more

The Hotel was ok. We decided to have the buffet dinner and the food was terrible. After a 2 week holiday, it was the worse meal we had. There was very little variety and very stale as it had been sitting there for quite some time. Fortunately it was quite inexpensive.
