very central location in Beijing, few blocks to Tiananmen square and the forbidden city, subway station around the corner,,pedestrian street for shopping and restaurants, two blocks away..the room basic ,clean, good heat,we travel in January very cold,it is very important to choose a hotel with good heat...and the price very affordable..

I picked this hotel for the location and that the price range was within my budget, and in both of those this hotel served its purpose. The room was not dirty but dingy; most of the hotel smells of stale smoke. One of the odder features of the room was the lack of a real bathroom door - there was a sliding panel instead that didn't really do much. The breakfast buffet (which was not included in my room) came to 60 CNY per person, and wasn't really worth the price in my opinion. There were plenty... Read more

Hard to find a room in Beijing for three people, but we were traveling with our teenage daughter and wanted a family room. Room was clean. Great location. Our room was on the ground floor and maintenance workers were stacking used air conditioners and tools outside our window. Other than that it was a good room

The location is great. It's quite near Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. There are restaurants a couple of blocks away. Wangfujing Street is also a couple of blocks away. The beds were comfortable, the wi-fi connection was ok. Amenities were restocked everyday and good strong hot/cold water in the shower. 1 bottle of drinking water per guest per day. Rooms look a bit dated. The rooms need to be deep cleaned, and bathrooms need to be more thoroughly cleaned. OK selection of Chinese and... Read more

Some of the staff speak some English which is good although when I was trying to check in, one of the non English speaking staff thought I was checking out and was trying to help me with my bags out of the door? The room itself was small but pleasant, although it was showing a fair amount of 'wear and tear' and shabbiness around the walls with lots of cracks and paint chipping away. When I arrived the TV wasn't working, so I had to go back down to reception to rectify this, one of the staff show... Read more

Great location. Bed was not too hard. Some English spoken. Breakfast was expensive (if it's not included in your tariff) & not very good. Tariff was fairly expensive by Chinese standards but Beijing is like that. Internet speed was OK but they use a complicated password system - ask for extra passwords.

Have to say, I was a bit sceptical initially as I only made the booking online. Luckily my scepticism was gone once I stepped in. The room was spacious, clean and didn't smell of cigarettes (big plus especially in China!). The service was good, staff actually smiled and were attentive to our needs. The breakfast buffet is not fantastic and there are better options around. The greatest advantage of this hotel is its price and central location. It is only 15 minutes to Forbidden city, wang fu ji... Read more

English was very limited at this hotel but we found the same over most of our China trip. This location allowed us to walk to Tianamen Square and Forbidden City by ourselves and bus to Temple of Heaven. The hotel was older but rooms well appointed even though a little tired. We are an older couple and would recommend this hotel.

This is a small chain, on a side street between Wangfujing shopping street and Forbidden city. Easy access to metro, shopping, tourist attractions. I booked through CTRIP and was able to get a single room with a view and breakfast for the same price that most other sites offered a basement room, no breakfast. Breakfast is buffet, primarily Asian choices....which is fine with me. There are mini markets on the same street, if you want more drinks or water. The room was clean, bathroom had a very n... I was looking for a hotel that locates in the center of Beijing and this hotel is even beyond my expectations. It is about a quarter mile away from the Forbidden City and there are many stores and restaurants around, so it's not difficult to find a place of reasonable price and delicious food to dine. The service is satisfactory, especially when considering the average service provided by other local businesses. The staff speak good English and are all willing to help. The facilities are clean... I stayed here for 2 nights. The rooms are clean, but the room I was in was street level so a little loud during the night. It's in a very close location waking distance to Wangfujing street where there are lots of shopping malls and street stalls, food ect. The hotel staff are very helpful but not all speak English so make sure you have a translator app on your phone. The tours they offer for the great wall are great a little more expensive than what is offered on the street but well worth the e... Read more

We stayed 5 nights on the second floor of the main building, room was clean and the beds comfortable. The staff don't speak very little English so plan your tours from home. The wifi cut off all the time. I would stay here again. Always use a metred taxi and pay what's on the metre, they always want more!

The hotel as such is nothing tosay about: a regular featureless dwelling for short-term visitors, but location is as great as the Great Wall itself. It's five minutes walk from the Forbidden City (hence its name), same distance to Tananmen Square, three minuted form the Bejing central market and main shopping street. Meanwhile, you can observe "hutons" from your window which is entertainment in itself as those old traditional Chinse residential areas have been rapidly disappearing.

Don't expect a gleaming tower of glass and marble. The hotel is accessed via an alleyway and its ordinary appearance does fit in with the low-rise structures of the old city. That said, the Days Inn Forbidden City Hotel is ideally located a short walk from the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The reception staff are friendly and most speak English. The buffet breakfast is good with omelettes made to order. My only concern was the variable quality of the h... Read more

Stayed on business for two weeks. Had a budget room but it was clean, quiet, comfortable and was not disturbed by other hotel guests at all. The Cafe has good meals for reasonable prices given Beijing can be expensive. Close to Tian 'an East metro and easy to get a taxi if needed. At least one English speaking staff member available and very helpful. Internet connection not so great when needing to work on site so ended up using my own 4G card. Good price for Beijing and great location!

The hotel is very close to the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square among others. Given that Beijing can be very congested traffic wise by car; it is therefore a plus that abovementioned sites can be visited by walking distance. The rooms are nothing special to write home about, but comfortable enough. The Wifi is not so good.

Two words best describe our experience in this hotel- '' utterly dreadful''. Nothing could have prepared us for the dramatically poor rooms we were assigned here. Even allowing for the budget rooms we had booked, mainly because the Inn is next door to Forbidden City. They were dank, dark, airless, cheerless caverns. The Shawshank Redemption crossed my mind as I lay in the darkness on my first night! Next morning my daughter confirmed my view that these rooms should not be made available to trav... Read more

The price was very fair! I stayed on a room on the basement (lowest price) and the Aircon was very noise, the room was not very clean but is ok. Tight romm as well. Close of the metro station, i booked tours directly with the reception and the breakfast was very good (not included on the room price). The internet signal on my room was terrible.

The location of this hotel is perfect. It is on walking distance (5 to 10 minutes) from The Forbidden City and Tianamen square. The rooms are rather small but not too small. I was there in May 2011. I certainly would use this hotel again.

We couldn't have asked for a better location! you can basically walk to many point of interests. Very close to subway too so you can explore further. We took express train from the airport, transferred to the subway and walked to the hotel from Wangfujing station (exit C2). We checked in around 10pm and the girl at the front desk was very helpful. We had a deluxe room on the 3rd floor, the bed was comfortable enough, the bathroom was clean and spacious. We had a big tub that we were thankful fo... Read more

I was very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. The location is the only good point. The room was rather old and worn with wallpaper peeling from all corners. I feel housekeeping don't really do much as the surfaces and carpets are pretty dusty. You can only hook 1 device to the wifi so choose wisely.

Our room was situated in a block adjacent to the main hotel. On entering, the thing that struck us was the smell of cigarettes. Our room if anything it was worse. The room with the lights on was so dark I needed a head torch! The carpet was stained and all looked very tired. The following morning we asked for another room and to be fair this wasn't a problem and we did get a slightly better room. All in all this is a hotel to avoid.

The location of this hotel is very good. Besides that I did not have the best of experiences. My room was located in a basement. The windowsill was covered with dust and the carpet was worn out to say the least. Not very clean. Great location, good breakfast buffet, but downhill from there. Room very small, very run down with stains on carpet, broken lampshades, peeling wallpaper, card key wouldn't work in slot to operate lights/power - had to jam cardboard in. On arrival reception told us (& wrote down) a non existent room number so we were wandering about dragging our cases for some time. And this at 1:30am! In it's day this was probably a class hotel, but those days are long gone & it needs major upgrade.
