It's located next to the Paris and Londres street. it's close to the main central spots with the Moneda, Plaza de armas, calles Ahumada etc. The staffs are professional and very kind. the rooms are not very very modern but cozy and clean. There is a welcome drinks at the first floor bar if you tell the time you want to have to the reception. (i'm not sure if it's only a group guest or for everyone.) Nice breakfast with various food. I always stay at this hotel couple times when I come to San... Read more

The Hotel Fundador is a small hotel in downtown Santiago. It is on a small side street just off the main avenue, Ave. Liberator O'Higgins, so there are plenty of shops and restaurants in the area. It is about three blocks to the presidential palace and is within walking distance to Plaza de Armas. A metro station is about a 2 min. walk from the hotel. Room was clean but the entire hotel in need to be better maintained. The room also was slightly small and the bath was a bit small. The hotel re... Read more

I was in room 701 the worst room I have ever been in a hotel. I came back sick, the amount of dust on the curtains was unbelievable. I had an allergic reaction. Three days sick in DC after I came back.

A three star hotel, but the staff makes it 4 star: they all speak English, something not garanteed in South-America, and are all very helpful. I stayed different nights, altogether 5nights, and every time whoever was in the reception was helpful: changing rooms because the AC was not working, helping with directions for certain shops, metro, help with a booking, printing important documents. And always with a smile. After staying in a room on the street side, which was very noisy,I mentioned tha... Read more

This hotel is located in a great place, near to everything. the staff is awesome, they are gonna help you and provide you instructions on where to go or how to get places. Really nice staying. heating in the room was a kind of bad, still good enough for sleep. The staff in the hotel deserves an extra star. Confortable enough for your staying in Santiago.

We arrived after an 18 hour flight and were told the paid and confirmed reservation for four nights did not exist. The confirmation number did not change anything and i was requested, by the manager, to pay one night in cash in advance in order to phone our travel agent the next day. The young receptionist however did not give up and kept phoning various people or agencies in Santiago. Finally after two hours the problem was solved, the money was returned and we had a great few days in Santiago.... Read more

Bit of a quirky hotel in terms of decor. Award winning? Really? Nah. Dated old bathrooms/shower. Dusty curtains. Sneezed and sneezed and sneezed in their rooms both stays. Comfy beds pillows. BBC channel. Extremely reliable strong wifi. Had a balcony and bath in one room and quiet 201. Next stay was on the street. 405. Super noisy. Happy hour good value cocktails. Breakfast is sugar sugar sugar and refined white carbs. Scrambled eggs are present. Didn't have much to do with staff (never do) s... Read more

Nice decor throughout. Very friendly staff, including doorman, receptionist , waitresses and room cleaners.. Breakfast efficient and tasty with good selection. We had a room facing inwards over roof of the restaurant and it was quiet. On the eighth floor is a very very small pool, and a range of gym equipment, sadly the pool is too small to be any use and the room generally is so hot and humid the gym equipment can't be used. If only they could relocate it somewhere else... As others have co... Read more

A nice hotel located a few blocks away from imoprtant tourist sites and an artesan market. The hotel staff were more than accomodating when I forgot to bring my adaptor for my electrical items and lent me one that they keep for guests. They also sold tickets for the Hop on Hop off bus, which was an added bonus. Overall, a pleasant stay in Santiago.

Two visits close together: 3 nights 11-13 Nov, 1 night 22 Nov. Very nice pair of buildings joined at 4th level by an enclosed airbridge. Atmospheric view rooftop gym/spa room in second of the two, across the airbridge. Airy, spacious and stylish public spaces, restaurant and separate breakfast room. Both my visits were situated in the main building. First visit a corner room (306), second a side avenue room (415). Both had nice natural light but because of proximity to surrounding buildings...
