Location is great for personal trips -- near Metro and plenty of dining options. Staff could not have been more accommodating of our group's early and late schedules. Sebastian was a super resource for dining and tourism opportunities. Amadeo restaurant is fabulous. Desk can arrange for transport from and to airport at defined and reasonable rates.

personalized, reliable and professional are 3 out of the many good things I can say about this Hotel and its staff members. I stayed with colleagues for an abroad summer project and everything was amazing. We could not have been more satisfied. Prime location, superior service, with a great crew with superior quality of communication, patience and caring skills. A special thank you to Iván, Paola, and María Victoria for their attentiveness and professionalism. F

We stayed here for 4 nights during our stay in Santiago. The hotel was wonderful! The location in Bellavista is perfect too!! The staff was very attentive and knowledgable esp Sebastian helping us to get the lay of the land upon check in The staff anticipated our every need and were very quick to assist with anything we asked of them. We stayed in room 18 which was quite big and spacious. All amenities are present and quite comfortable. What I liked also was the decor of the hotel was gorg... Read more

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for the first part of our honeymoon. First, the hotel is a beautiful and striking building. The interior is accordingly well decorated. There is a sitting area on the second floor that was very nice; the hotel provided complimentary fresh fruit and water here each day. The location of the hotel is convenient to many top restaurants and bars. And by convenient, I really mean dozens of places to eat or drink within a two block radius. The metro stop was somethi... Wonderful amenities, very helpful and friendly staff. Beautifully decorated hotel. Felt like they gave me royal treatment. Softest beds ever. A great place for afternoon tea. Staff went far and beyond to make us feel very comfortable. Great breakfast included.

We stayed three nights in Castillo Rojo. The location of the hotel is excellent. Right in the middle of Bella Vista, restaurants are plentiful. The city centre is about a 30 min walk through beautiful parks and historical streets of Santiago St Lucia area. The rooms are small but very tastefully decorated - the whole hotel has been brilliantly restored and quite an experience. Our room was a little noisy, situated outside of the common lounge area and above the restaurant courtyard where sta... Read more

My husband and I stayed at Castillo Rojo for just one night ahead of a cruise out of Valparaiso in April. We would have loved to stay longer! Every detail was perfect. The room and bed were very comfortable and well appointed. The lounge close by was equipped with a Nespresso machine for an impromptu cappuccino. Our breakfast in the restaurant was excellent as was the service. The staff were helpful and warm every time we encountered them. We loved the neighborhood and were able to wand... Read more

We stayed 3 nights at the Castillo Rojo. The hotel itself is a piece of art in the midst of the Bella Vista area in Santiago. From the outside, it has a vintage Gothic mansion look and the interiors complemented it perfectly. There is no shortage of restaurants in the vicinity, and the Mercado Central and San Cristobal are within walking distance I booked the hotel well in advance and the booking staff accommodated my request for a change in price when they had a promotion running later All ... We loved this hotel. A beautiful old building in a great part of Santiago. Comfortable and tasteful with lots of restaurants nearby. Enjoyed our eggs for breakfast each morning and the coffee was good too. Lots of things to do within walking distance.

Loved this small hotel. The staff couldn't be more help, however they tried. It is conveniently located for eating out, being barely a block from Patio Bella Vista. Just a couple of blocks further on gets you to the metro station, where two lines converge, and it's not much further to Lastarría, Museo delas Bells Artes, and then GAM for arts buffs, Santa Lucia and then the buildings, of La Moneta are just a bit further on. la Cascona and Santa Lucia are on your door step. The guest lounge, open... Read more

My family stayed at the Castillo Rojo last week; we had a great experience. The staff were all very helpful with restaurant recommendations, and helped us find a guide for a day trip to Valparaiso. Breakfasts were very large and excellent. We felt very pampered at the small, intimate hotel.

Staff extremely helpful and spoke English. Pity about the enthusiastic couple in the room above us in a squeaky bed. Will stay here again though. Great spot and great hotel. Lots of little extras. Fruit in the lounge room with free tea and coffee. Crockery and table settings old world charm.

You're greeted with a structure that looks like it came from the Alps. The hotel has the comfortable feeling of a bed and breakfast. It's clean, quiet and has an amazing outdoor space that I hope to be able to use if I visit in the warmer months. The breakfast was simple and delicious (real cappuccino!). I would definitely stay there again.

We went to Chile with 5 other couples for a family event and all stayed at Castillo Rojo. The rooms were elegant and comfortable, the setting was perfect for us to all be able to get together in an intimate manner with our own space and the optionality of a warm common area. The staff could not have been more accommodating, helped us with local transportation, restaurant recommendations, etc. We even shared a drink together in the upstairs common area - it could not have been more perfect. This was my first time in the Bellavista district of sprawling Santiago, and I highly recommend this lively area for tourists as it's full of interesting bars, restaurants and shops. It's also very close to many tourist attractions. This is a small hotel and quite unique in that it used to be a private home which has been completely renovated with great care and attention to detail. It offers the best of modern amenities with some old world charm-- a welcome respite from the cookie cutter ho... Read more

We were looking for a 'boutique' place to stay at the end of our 4,000 mile road journey through Chile and Argentina. At first I was put off by the internet pictures that made the hotel appear a little creepy. However, I am a great believer in research so dug deeper, read reviews and booked the hotel. What a surprise, delicious in every way. A great welcome, great room, exceptional breakfast and oh, so close to so many attractions and great restaurants. This is a hotel I will remember and seek o... Read more

This hotel is in a really nice landmark house in Bellavista, the nicest part of Santiago to stay in. The neighborhood is very walkable, and filled with restaurants and bars, and Pablo Neruda's house. Our room was small but very charming. The public parts of the hotel are opulently decorated and comfortable. And the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. My fiancé has come to Santiago all her life and this is now her favorite hotel in the city.

The building is a really nice refurbished antique castle, very small and cozy. They only have a room for a beautiful breakfast but no restaurant. None is needed though because they are so conveniently located you have a wide selection of restaurants right there when you get out the door. Service is wonderful, my room was nice, ac was on maintenance but had a nice window with a pretty view. No elevator and lots of stairs but the hotel is beautifully decorated so it's worth it.

It's true our room was a little small for the US $300 price, but overall the hotel was pretty good. A few very small improvements could be made, like a better breakfast selection and keeping the milk in the lounge bar in the fridge, it goes off after an hour or so???. The staff really try hard to please you and all of them are very pleasant. It looked like they had consultants in to improve the breakfast room and courtyard area, which will great?y improve the place. I cannot submit this review ... Read more

The Castillo Rojo is an awesome place to spend time in Santiago. It is central to many great food options and things to do. The staff were gracious and friendly plus asked many times if there was anything we needed. They provided a great guide to take us to the Andes mts to see San Jose volcano and many cool things along the way. The breakfast included in our nightly cost was fresh and delicious. Sebastian gave us many ideas of good restaurants while Vaoghan and Fillepe cared for us over bre... Read more

Beautiful boutique hotel built in an old house in a fun neighborhood full of restaurants, close to museums and sightseeing. Service excellent, all the reception people were extremely kind and willing to make our stay pleasant. Negative opinion is that the air conditioning was not working and it was very hot! Hope that problem was only temporary since in the next few months Santiago gets very high temperatures-

We only had one one night but we enjoyed our stay. It is in the heart of Bella Vista, for good or bad. I have to say, our windows were sound proof, even if the a/c wasn't working. Noise wasn't an issue for us. Staff was great, and breakfast was good.

This hotel is in the middle of the bohemian neighborhood of Bella Vista. It's surrounded by restaurants and clubs and a block from the Pablo Neruda museum. The excellent service started before we even arrived. Nicholas helped me with restaurants reservations at a very popular and difficult to book restaurant nearby and answered many questions. Carlos the bellman, butler, superior service delivery man was available for anything we needed. Although the rooms are small, everything is beautiful... Read more

We stayed for four days. The staff was responsive and pleasant. Location is walking distance to subway, buses, etc. The old mansion is restored, updated and maintained nicely. We did not mind climbing stairs. There is no elevator, but staff helps with luggage. Our room was quiet, we heard no noise in spite of this historic neighborhood being a very popular tourist and nightlife spot. It was great to have a wide variety of restaurants, shops, etc. nearby. I stayed for 2 nights in this charming hotel. The staff was wonderful and most everyone who worked there spoke English. Great value, lovely lounge open 24 hours with fruit, coffee, water, alcohol for purchase. Rooms are charming with big bathrooms and clean. I had a car picking me up at 5:30 am and a staff member waiting outside with me to insure my safety. Highly recommend this place

Very nice hotel, my descriptions would always be worse than the photos shown by Tripadvisor. Many small details give good standard to the hotel (nice common areas, specially the bar at the first floor) and the rooms. I had a suite which rather was a good sized room than a proper suite. There was a good minibar, safety box, large flat tv... Good bath complimentary products and good free wifi. The included breakfast was very poor. A sad continental buffet with white bread, ham and only one type ... Read more
