Castillo Rojo is a beautiful boutique hotel with only 19 guest rooms. Built in 1923 as a private home, the interior of the hotel reflects the era in grand style The Staff are very friendly and helpful, most also speak excellent English. We stayed in Room 19 and while we had a few flight of stairs (no elevators) the hotel staff carried our luggage up to the room. Our room was large and very comfortable. Not only is the hotel fabulous, it is situated in Bellavista, which is a beautiful neighbour... Read more

We are experienced travelers. Being a first visit to Santiago, we did quite a bit of research and chose Castillo Rojo. Hands down one of the very best boutique hotels we've ever visited. Location is ideal with bohemian local area filled with outdoor cafes/restaurants. Excellent walking starting point for all key Santiago highlights. Hotel itself is historically charming, clean, good beds. Great breakfast and service. Sebastian is like a personal concierge and truly went out of his way to make ou... Read more

We stayed at the Castillo Rojo for only one night but it was an amazing experience. Location. Location. Location. Castillo Rojo's location takes the cumbersome city that is Santiago and reduces it to the Bellavista neighborhood; its fabulous eateries and inviting plazas. Walk everywhere! Literally everything worth doing with a 2 day itinerary is walkable from Castillo Rojo. Best part is, I haven't talked about the service which may even be better than location. My airline lost my bag, obviously... Read more

We stayed at Castillo Rojo for two nights -- our first time in Santiago -- and we loved it. The location is perfect, Barrio Bella Vista, a very safe and fun place to base yourself. It's close to the Funicular for spectacular views of the city, also to the Neruda House/Museum -- which was really a highlight -- and plenty of restaurants and bars in the area. Across the street is a great bar with a rooftop view that's lovely in the evenings, Matilda. The hotel itself is a standout in the neighb... Read more

We absolutely loved our stay in Castillo Rojo! The central location in beautiful Bellavista allowed us to easily explore restaurants, music venues, markets, and parks within minutes of stepping foot outside our room. Our gorgeous, high-ceilinged room boasted old charm, air conditioning, and sound-proof windows, easily affording us comfort after long days exploring Santiago. We consistently had responsive service from hotel staff - from wine tastings to being personally ushered by Sebastian to a ... Read more

This hotel has got the best location, right in the middle of Bella Vista. It is an old and well preserved building, very pretty, very clean, so much character but as a hotel you feel a bit of inconvenience. There is no lift so you need to take lots of stairs, I stayed two nights and both nights the shower was cold. The air conditioning system was not working so the hotel had brought a temporary unit that had filled a big chunk of the small room we had, and because of that the window had to remai... Read more

Very nice hotel, my descriptions would always be worse than the photos shown by Tripadvisor. Many small details give good standard to the hotel (nice common areas, specially the bar at the first floor) and the rooms. I had a suite which rather was a good sized room than a proper suite. There was a good minibar, safety box, large flat tv... Good bath complimentary products and good free wifi. The included breakfast was very poor. A sad continental buffet with white bread, ham and only one type ... Read more

I stayed for 2 nights in this charming hotel. The staff was wonderful and most everyone who worked there spoke English. Great value, lovely lounge open 24 hours with fruit, coffee, water, alcohol for purchase. Rooms are charming with big bathrooms and clean. I had a car picking me up at 5:30 am and a staff member waiting outside with me to insure my safety. Highly recommend this place

We stayed for four days. The staff was responsive and pleasant. Location is walking distance to subway, buses, etc. The old mansion is restored, updated and maintained nicely. We did not mind climbing stairs. There is no elevator, but staff helps with luggage. Our room was quiet, we heard no noise in spite of this historic neighborhood being a very popular tourist and nightlife spot. It was great to have a wide variety of restaurants, shops, etc. nearby. Breakfast buffet was plentiful, fresh and... Read more

This hotel is in the middle of the bohemian neighborhood of Bella Vista. It's surrounded by restaurants and clubs and a block from the Pablo Neruda museum. The excellent service started before we even arrived. Nicholas helped me with restaurants reservations at a very popular and difficult to book restaurant nearby and answered many questions. Carlos the bellman, butler, superior service delivery man was available for anything we needed. Although the rooms are small, everything is beautiful... Read more
