"We had a wonderful time at the Reef. The weather was perfect the whole time, our room with a full kitchen was great, the staff friendly and helpful,. Our son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren spent part of the 8 day stay with us and we all had a great time. The only drawback, which would prevent us from returning, was the cost. From the airfare to get there, the cost of renting a car, and the very expensive cost of food, our next trip will be to a less expensive destination. None of us got the all-inclusive, the food was just too high. It was great being able to shop for groceries across the street,, though, and when we did eat out we went to native restaurants that had authentic Caymian cooking and were less expensdive than The Reef Food. (We ate at the Reef Barefood Bistro once during our trip). Both our son and we rented cars, and without them we would have missed out on a lot, however, it was an adjustment driving on the left side of the road, and it added to the expense of a trip. Many of the craft and water acvtivities at the Reef were very expensive too, whereas they were included , for example, when we had an all-inclusive stay in the Dominican Republic. To sum it up, we loved the Reef, we loved Grand Cayman Island, we loved the entire vacation, but we will opt for a less expensive destination (one where we don't have to rent a car) for our next vacation. We would recommend the Reef to a friend if they had more money than us to spend."
