First the bad stuff: this place is quiet and secluded, you need a rental car or a taxi to get anywhere, there is no beach and the on-site restaurant has zero atmosphere. Now the good stuff: this place is quiet and secluded and not smothered in obnoxious tourists. It is affordable and the staff are friendly and courteous. Most of the TA reviews are completely fair. This place is not a Ritz Carlton but a nice cozy, casual resort. My room was extremely well appointed and comfortable. The pier is ... Read more

I booked it as it was competitively priced compared to the 7Mile Beach hotels and I was not disappointed. In fact I had a larger than expected suite including a living and sleeping room, a large bathroom and a kitchen and a nice view to the golf course. First and foremost: if you plan to come here and you are a golfer - you've arrived at your destination, full stop. If you are a holiday-maker who wants to go to the beach, have a look around, go to restaurants, shops, etc than please, please: get... Read more

My wife and I just spent a week at the Holiday Inn Resort. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us with everything. They helped us find excursions and book them and were very very friendly and helpful. If we ever go back to Grand Cayman we will definitely stay here. The food in the restaurant on the property was very good.

I stayed here last week. It's off the beaten path on the opposite side of the island from the tourist area. It's on the water, and does have a sandy area, but no walk in access. They have a nice pier that goes out over the water a hundred feet or so with lounging areas. They have a very nice pool, but open it up to locals on Sunday's. Great rooms; well appointed and recently upgraded. If you want quiet and relaxing, this is the place on Cayman. I would recommend a car to get around, thoug... Read more

I stayed in one of the suites for a month when I moved to the island. I enjoyed staying here it has everything you need. It's about 5-7 minute drive from the main road, you can walk it in 15 mins if u walk over the golf course. The bus service to town is good if you have a car and drink. Very close to north sounds golf course. One bad point, the on site gym is a complete joke they should stop advertising it as having a gym, even though you can use World gym on SMB, it's a 15 minute drive.

The food, and staff were excellent. We stayed a week, and while there is sand, and pool, palm trees and the sound, not a place for beach or snorkeling. That said, the staff were exceptionally helpful and nice, the food was great, and we really enjoyed our stay. The jet-ski concession took us out to Sting Ray city and it was a blast. Highly, highly recommend the trip. They took photos, let us hold and pet Southern Rays, and feed them. The facilities were updated a few years ago, so the rooms ... Read more

We have been going to the Holiday Inn Resort Grand Cayman for the last 5 or 6 years. They are really making strides to improve the facility. The restaurant has been taken over by new management and the food is greatly improved. I hope that the word gets out, especially for their breakfast. The pancakes are light like crepes and the best ever. The rooms are large and clean and some have a full kitchen which makes it great if you're travelling with a family. We were put up here when we missed our cruise ship due to mechanical error at the airline. The staff was so helpful, especially since we did not have any luggage! The rooms were nice. The pool was great too. There is a pier you can walk out on, but there is no beach. It is the rocky side of the island. That is the only drawback. I actually didn't know where I was being sent to (for lodging) having not read the last page of my itinerary until I picked up my rental car at the airport. It sounded "interesting". After zigzagging what felt like atleast a mile off the main road, there it was situated on the North Bay facing Cayman Brac on the beautiful Carrib. The purpose of my trip was not for leisure but the remoteness of its location is superb. Quiet and relaxing. I could return from work, go to the pool and relax all wi... Read more

It's a great location. I highly recommend the food at their restaurant. Our family and friends are there for several breakfasts and lunches. Everything in the menu is so good. Staff members were always pleasant and went out of the way to be helpful. They even vacuumed the sand out of our rental car so we wouldn't be charged a fine at the Budget rental office. We like the location "away" from all the traffic and tourists on 7 Mile Beach yet Georgetown and 7 mile are just minutes away. All of the employees are just so helpful, especially the maintenance guy. Wish I could remember his name so that he would get recognition. The front desk is very accommodating and polite. You don't have to rent a car, but we do. We love to drive to the East End a... Read more

The Hotel is a reasonable good location. Staff reasonably friendly. The room was big enough for 4 family members, bathroom was big enough. Unfortunately hot water to fill the bathtube was not available last two days cold water only. This is a bit low performance. The Hotel has a nice pool area and beach. You get your own towels.

I've stayed here twice and every time it has been a great experience. I usually check in the head straight to the supermarket as the hotel offers a FULLY stocked kitchen (if you book the suite). I usually book a suite on the first floor by the pool as I have children. The suite has washer/dryer, living room, dinning room, kitchen, bedroom, restroom and balcony. Money saving tip- grocery market is a short drive from hotel. Buy groceries and cook. This will save you a ton of money as the food is... Read more

We were here for a work trip and would be working evenings at the hospital. The staff was very friendly and efficient. The rooms very nice and well maintained. The onsite bar and restaurant are good and convenient. I headed out for a walk on the beach and was surprised at the condition of the beach area and amenities. The sand was hard packed and littered with debris and the sand volleyball court looked like cement and had a torn and tattered net blowing in the breeze. I went to the pool and sa... Read more

Our room faced the courtyard, pool, view of beach and resturant. The balcony was great for morning coffee, the room was always clean neat and loved the huge bathroom. The people were very nice & friendly.

This hotel is five miles from anything including a bus. It's also on the sound so not much beach here. And th shuttle operated from 10 a.m.to 6 p.m. I was working during that time soooooo getting to the grocery or anywhere else as impossible. I found the rooms to be clean and the bed was nice however the pool area and grounds/lobby were grossly neglected. I found a large nail (4")on the sidewalk and showed the front desk to warn them about the potential of a guest injury occurring. The lobby sme... Read more

The Caymans is expensive, and that's why were glad that we were able to find this budget friendly hotel. It's not convenient (you can't walk to anything) but they do offer a free shuttle that takes you to the beach, or to the supermarket. The restaurant is great and the staff was very friendly. There are lots of iguana's on the property though which creeped me out the first day. They are very docile reptiles however and they only bother you if you bother them so it was no longer a problem once ... Read more

Stayed four weeks, with my dog, and was treated graciously and with an all-out effort to make me feel at home. The entire staff was friendly and happy. My suite was impeccable, roomy and full of amenities, including a full kitchen with all appliances, as well as a full-size washer and dryer. Wi-fi only went down one time during a storm. Televisions in living room and bedroom. Bathroom was spacious and well-accommodated. This resort is off the beaten Seven Mile Beach path, which was a relief. The... Read more

Just back from a week on Grand Cayman, staying at the Holiday Inn Resort. We really liked our One Bedroom King Ocean View Suite--it was clean, very well equipped, nicely furnished and spacious. The air conditioning worked well, it was easy to regulate the temperature. The daily maid service was a bonus. The location of the resort suited us perfectly--close to 7 Mile Beach, shopping, grocery stores, Georgetown, etc., but on the quieter side and in an area by golf courses and high end homes. ... Stayed at the Holiday Inn while attending the CWA2016, and I must say that generally, this hotel is good, there are just some things though that could do a lot better for the hotel. 1. The location, this hotel is literally located in the corner of the island, 7 miles beach is about a 30 minutes walk away and the beach by the hotel is not as safe for swimming. However, the hotel does provide free shuttle to places between certain times so that works. But be very weary of one thing, if you arra... Read more

We stayed in a huge 1-BR and the experience was wonderful. We knew Cayman was expensive, but Damn! It's good thing we had a full kitchen to cook since we stayed indoors mostly and relaxed. We also had a washer/dryer. It was our home away from home. We did rent a car after staying a few days and doing so made it much more convenient to run out whenever we felt the need. The newly established, on-site rental car company made the process so easy and perfect to drop the car off at the airport for ou... Read more

If I could give a negative rating I would! This was my first time staying at the resort and it will be my LAST time! Being a local resident and wanting to have a staycation over the long weekend I thought this location would be grand. Boy was I ever wrong. The staff were incredible rude, disrespectful and unhelpful. The biggest issue we had was being discriminated against because of the color of our skin. My family were enjoying the pool and out of all the other guests that were in an arou... Read more

Stayed for a few days attending a training seminar. Was a last minute thing so choices were limited. That said, the hotel wasn't bad, it not laid out a little different from usual. The room was nice, the hotel's right by the beach, and there's a pool if you don't feel for salt water. The staff were friendly and accomodating, but it never felt like they went out of their way for you. I called for room service one evening and rather than take the order, I was originally told that I couldn't get r... Read more

Nice hotel. Rooms are nice and well.kepy. location is decent. Located on the bay rather than the sea so the water is not as nice. But it could be nicer if they maintained a beach there. It appears there once was one but it is no kept clean. Some raking and a truckload of sand would bring a huge value to the grounds. Restaurant on site has very few offerings. No vegetarian options and what they do have is pricey. Kitchens in units are meagerly stocked. We called and asked for a pot one evening a... Read more

We stayed 3 nights in November. The hotel is quiet and a great place if you want to rent a Jet Ski and go to Rum Point or Stingray City. Exceptional customer service provided by Mr. Greene the property General Manager. Also If you want to play golf the hotel is located right on the public golf course. Choose the one bedroom suite which comes with all the amenities of home.

Good news is the rooms are clean, big and well appointed. The night desk staff and servers in the restaurant are pleasant and friendly. The pool is very nice. On the negative side. The beach is awful, and the area is nondescript. The hotel has nothing around it so everything is a drive. The day front desk was unpleasant. It would do in a pinch but not a first choice.

Just returned from a one week stay, and thoroughly enjoyed it! Beautiful views, and spacious 1 bedroom timeshare unit. Our daughter slept on the pull out sleeper sofa in the family room. Nice to have a kitchen---saved us money! We cooked our own breakfast every morning, and made dinner a few nights too. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating! Shuttle service to town, seven mile beach or Camana Bay. This isn't offered at other places on the island. We would definitely stay her... Read more
