We stayed here to see Rihanna in April 2016. It's all about location. This hotel is located two blocks from MTS Centre where the concert was. It's also located right across from The Bay and a shopping mall. Rooms are clean. Pool is humble and restaurant food leaves something to be desired so I suggest going off site to any number of nearby restaurants for eats. The service at front desk was polite and efficient. No hassle parking next door and again, affordable price and location is everything f... Read more

Very friendly staff and what you would expect out of any Holiday Inn. Stayed for 17 days and only had one issue the whole time. They could improve they're recreational facilities and they're restaurant could definitely use a brand new menu.

I was concerned about noise but the room I got was perfectly quiet, like a tomb! I stayed two nights and had trouble be getting out of bed it was that peaceful a nd comfortable. The AC worked great, light in bathroom for makeup was perfect, parking is secure and mall is across the street. There's a wonderful place to eat across the street xalledStellas as the cafe in the hotel is not open weekends. I will stay again.

Just spent one night here... was ok until it was past 10 pm.. then the sirens of police, ambulance, firetrucks.. I don't know what they were but at least every hour there was a siren. Not the hotels fault... but I would not stay here again if I go back. I asked for a quite room.. the room was great (couldn't hear anyone around me) but outside - YIKES!!! Personnel at the front desk were great.... location great, parking great... even breakfast in restaurant good.

Typical IHG property with everything you have come to expect. Not much around the hotel for variety within walking distance. A short drive in any direction to food and entertainment. The room was nice and comfortable. The TV channel selection was dull with few channels. Wireless internet was fast enough to stream movies.

Very standard hotel, and found staff to be a little under trained. It's a bit of a walk to conference center and a little uncomfortable at night. Also found that it was noisy, police cars, dumptruck 4ams.

This place is RIGHT downtown and the price for the location is possibly unbeatable, I looked. On the plus side I had a great check in, as a member of every single hotel rewards program it was nice to be recognized as a member on check in. The hotel as a simple restaurant on the main floor and coffee out in the morning. This is a good place to stay if you are vacationing and want to walk downtown or if you're on business downtown. Good location for Winnipeg. Just a short walk to the Legilative Buiding and just off Portage. Rooms are modern, spacious and well appointed. The King size bed was very comfortable. There is on site parking for $15. per day. The front desk staff are most helpful.

Nice hotel great location. Walking distance to the hockey arena. There's several food and shopping opportunities close by. Rooms nice and reasonably priced. Wasn't excited about my room. Seems like every time I've reserved through my IHG account I've gotten a room with a view of the HVAC system or an abandoned parking garage or a brick wall.

It's been a while since we've stayed at Holiday Inn, having had a few less-than-ideal experiences, but we enjoyed this one. Here's why: 1. GREAT LOCATION. No driving needed. Walk downtown, to The Forks, to the Exchange District, to Chinatown. Little effort required. After all, this is Winnipeg, and it's flat as a pancake. Plus, it's summer. 2. FRIENDLY & HELPFUL STAFF. We arrived well before check-in, weary from a long drive. Instead of frowning and telling us to come back later, the receptio... Read more

This hotel has good and bad. The staff were helpful, the pool area was pretty good. I have some serious concerns though. The first room we were assigned smelled so bad you couldn't go in it. I cannot understand how the hotel felt this room was appropriate to assign. That said the hotel staff were accommodating in changing our room. The hotel is quite dated and the location isn't great. It is far from attractions like the forks and there was sirens and street racing going on all night. We didn't... Read more

Recently I had the opportunity to teach a summer course at Winnipeg University. I needed to stay for a few days at the downtown Holiday Inn. Normally a hotel stay for me amounts to two or three nights at the most. This visit provided the opportunity to become familiar with the staff in a different way than usual. Towards the end of more than a week's stay I was made to feel part of the family. All the staff revealed a different side of themselves. As might be expected of a high quality establis... Read more

Stayed here this summer for 2 nights in June. It was a weekend and a very busy one at that. All the hotels in town were booked so we could only get rooms here. The location is great!! the restaurant choices are fantastic!! Stella's across the street is amazing for any meal and up the road at the Alt Hotel there is a great place called The Merchant which has a fantastic menu as well as great atmosphere!!! The hotel was clean and the service was good. This is a basic hotel. Nothing fancy. My ... Read more

I stayed at the Downtown Holiday Inn for two weeks, while doing some training at the local hospital for school. I will honestly tell you, that from the moment i stepped foot in the hotel, I was treated extremely well. The staff were professional day in and day out, always going out of their way to fulfill any requests I had. I was new to the city of Winnipeg, and one of them even emailed me a list of things to do in the city on my spare time. The cleaning staff were lovely, and the hotel itself ... Read more

I stayed once before and am not disappointed once again! The staff are amazing here and they felt like family (Marcio and Amanda) were always happy to see us and talk about our day. So much to do. Osborne Village was a great place to walk around and eat as well as the Forks market, museums and restaurants galore. Stella's is stellar!

Family reunion to celebrate a 90th birthday. Total of 18 guests, some local, some from Ontario, Alberta, B.C., and one from Australia. Room reservations, booking of event, menu, and billing all arranged via email. Rooms were clean, comfortable and stylish. Hotel staff from front desk to events staff, bartender and housekeeping were welcoming and friendly. Food was delicious. Location is excellent for visitors who wish to do walking tours or attend the WAG or visit the Forks. I would definitely ... Read more

I stayed for work from 9/18/16 to 9/23/16 and their staff hospitality and competency is astounding. Smiling faces all around. By mid-week, desk staff were calling me by name and the restaurant staff knew my order. I was so happy there, I'm cancelling my reservation at another (apparently higher Star) hotel down the street and staying here again next week!

This is a great location if you are staying in and around downtown. I was upgraded to a suite which was nice. The front desk took a tad longer for check in that I would like at Midnight but I got to my room safely and it was a comfortable sleep.

I recently booked a stay in this Holiday Inn expecting the same level of service and cleanliness of other Holiday Inns. They surprised me by a free upgrade to a one-bedroom suite (probably based on my membership status). That was a nice gesture, but still the room itself was disappointing. Heating was an issue as there was no thermostat. The window heaters either blew sweltering hot air or cold air-conditioning and you have to keep manually adjusting all night. The bathtub was filthy and th... Read more

Located in downtown Winnipeg across from The Bay, my room had a view of the Manitoba legislature. Restaurant in the hotel serves a good breakfast. First time visiting this location. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. My room was nice and clean. If you are a light sleeper, it might be best to ask for the rooms that not facing the streets. I was there for a few days and every night I could hear the sirens and traffics. I have a fridge in my room. One of my colleagues even got a microwave, when he asked for it. Well, the Holiday Inn wouldn't have been my first choice. Or my second, or probably not my third.... But sometimes it is hard to find hotel rooms in Winnipeg so I ended up here. To be fair, it wasn't too bad. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. Downsides were that the wi-fi was pretty spotty, the air/heating unit was old and loud, and it was pretty noisy from outside. Also, highly recommend that you avoid the restaurant at all costs. The bed was very comfortable, room was clean, temperature control was quiet. All the basics were there - wifi, extra power outlets at the desk, adjustable office chair, plus lots of TV channels, fridge and coffee maker. I liked the nightlight in the bathroom, made it easy to navigate in the dark. The blackout curtains worked well, except one of our group didn't notice them because housekeeping staff seem to push them back. Was in town overnight on business. I usually don't stay downtown but it was closer to my meeting location. Good location, close to restaurants, some shopping, band the MTS Center. Room was clean, decent size and quiet. Located right by the University of Winnipeg, restaurant and pub connected to the hotel.
