This is our second stay at the Doubletree by Hilton on Douglas in Victoria, BC. The two stays were consistently great. On this stay we were in suite 909. The suite was spacious, very well appointed, comfortable. There was a common bathroom shared between the master bedroom and the outer suite. The bathroom was nicely designed and was discreetly located in a small hallway rather than opening directly into a living space. Views to the Southwest were gorgeous and expansive. So glad I gave this a try! The Double Tree is located perfectly in walking distance from anything in downtown Victoria. Great if you are attending a conference as the conference centre is pretty much across the street. Check-in was easy. Yes, only having valet parking can be annoying but as I am an atrocious parker, I was glad soemone else did it for me. $20/day didn't shock me as I am used to Vancouver parking. We booked a King View room and we were pleasantly surprised it was on the top floor (17th floor). We had a nice view of the harbor and back-side of the Empress Hotel, view of the Parliament building, watched sea planes take off and land and saw the cruise ships come and go. If you get the 17th floor room facing the harbor: beware when you are showering at night-there is no privacy unless you turn the lights off; people from across the way will be able to see you! We checked in at about 3pm for a two-night stay at this centrally-located downtown hotel. It was perched atop a hill located beside the Marriott, across the Chateau Victoria Suites and a few steps away from the Inner Harbour and the Legislature. Three people in groups of two to four were ahead of me in the check-in line but it went pretty smoothly. I noted that they were all given cookies at the same time that their keys were handed out, which I thought was a nice, welcoming gesture. When my tur... Read more

Having been owned by a Victoria family for a while, this was a tired property in the past prior to the Doubletree Branding - and wow what a renovation. We were upgraded to a suite thanks to Hilton Gold (pays to be loyal!) and what a room. Very comfortable and quiet. Could have used a ceiling fan in master as living area was cool but that was only complaint. Lots of seating, a decent bar fridge for water etc (thank you for not having a mini bar. We rented a 2 bedroom suite on the 15th floor for a cousins get away. The stay was memorable in many ways. First and foremost was the view overlooking the harbor, Empress Hotel and Parliament building. Especially at night when the Parliament building is lit up. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and the beds and other furnishings were very comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was excellent. Location was walking distance of all downtown.

I have stayed at several places in Victoria and, while all good, this rated as one of my best experiences. The suite I had was spacious, updated, modern and comfortable. Fridge and microwave were a bonus. Lots of added touches too that you often don't get (e.g. mouthwash). The hotel overall was the same, though the elevators could be a little slow at times. Staff were consistently friendly and helpful. I needed a late checkout and was given one with no problem even though it was a busy... Read more

Victoria is one of those places where it's hard to find a bad hotel room or a less-than-great meal. Here, even DoubleTree--a brand distinguished more by bland competence than any kind of personality--manages to shine. Arriving late at night, we were nonetheless treated to a humorous, helpful, and fast check-in. Our room looked like it had been designed and built only days before--on the small side but completely up-to-date, with a comfortable king-size bed and excellent pillows. (This is the sec... The breakfast buffet, while very busy, offered a wide array of quality breakfast options. And the 21 restaurant has great deals on a nightcap. Thanks for a lovely stay!

From the very first moment, we felt at home at this Doubletree. We have both travelled a lot, but have never found a hotel where practically everybody did a great job. From reception to restaurant, house keeping and valet parking. Everybody at the reception was helpful, friendly, ready for a little chat or offering some advice, helping with bookings and planning excursions. This alone was priceless. Two nights in a small suite. Room good size and well appointed. Location great and views from balcony impressive. However, as hotel is very busy based on my experience it unfortunately lacks any personal touch or interest from the front of house staff. I stay in lots of busy / large hotels but the winners for me are those who still make you feel as a valued and individual guest i.e. Are you on holiday - do you know the city - would you like a street map etc. This sadly lacking at the Double Tre... Got the suite with separate living area. Checked in real late, they were expecting me. Great professional staff. Got to keep the room I selected in digital check in. Room clean, it also had fridge, microwave, coffee machine. Location right near downtown. Great English pub underneath the hotel (no noise issues (I was on ninth floor).

We spent a lot of time deciding which hotel to stay in while we were in Victoria in September. We are so glad we picked the DoubleTree. The location could not be better....near many attractions but not close to the downtown bars where it can be quite noisy at closing time when the patrons spill out onto the street! Our room (the Executive one bedroom) was spotlessly clean and very roomy. Every staff member we encountered during our stay was friendly and courteous and absolutely professional. The... Read more

This hotel is in the perfect location right downtown Victoria, as it is walking distance to the inner harbour, great restaurants and shopping. The hotel itself is very clean and the beds were really comfortable. There was a microwave and fridge in the guest rooms, which was really helpful and the view was amazing!

I've had many people recommend this hotel to me, but I have found the summer pricing a little high, as I travel for business and I'm really not long enough in a room to pat higher rates. The hotel is downtown near the harbour area. The rooms are immaculate and check in was quick and friendly. Excellent beds, a fridge, Kuerieg machine and a modern work out room. Nice place.

The hotel and rooms are very nice and fresh. Located downtown walking distance from many dinner places, very convenient. The bed and room extremely comfortable, quite hotel, even if the room was viewing the street. Could easily rate it 4 stars if would not had been for breakfast and breakfast service. Reduced choices and mediocre servers, completely unengaged and unfriendly, slow service as well. May be fine on vacation but I had morning meetings, so it mattered to me. Highly recommend the hot... We've stayed at this location many times through the years when it was The Executive House; in fact we were there just before it closed for a complete redo to become the DoubleTree. Over time, we sampled many rooms and suites, even one that had a sauna. Now, it's gone from traditional to modern decor. I chose 1702, a view room with balcony, on the top floor. It's next to the penhouse suite where we stayed years ago. It's quiet and you can see a nice overview of the city. We could even see ... Read more

We stayed at the Doubletree for 8 nights in November and it's a first rate place. We stayed in a suite and had lots of space. The bed was very comfortable. We used the fridge and microwave to make our own breakfasts. Location is great. The staff were friendly and eager to help.

I am a frequent Hilton Chain guest. This hotel is a newly renovated tower style hotel with good amenities, extremely friendly staff and very sweet views of Victoria. Many Many upsides to this choice. Breakfast Buffet is fairly ordinary for $17 (free for HHonors). Parking is $20/day but the room prices are good and the location is supurb. I recommend.

From the moment I arrived this hotel was amazing. I was 5 hours early for check in but they gladly found me a room that was ready. Even went out of their way to ensure I had a balcony. The valet was pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and well laid out. Nice Coffee maker kettle was available as well. The bed was wonderful, not too soft not too hard. Defiantly stay again.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was clean, updated and comfortable, and the hotel location was great. This location was renovated a year or so ago and still feels like new. Breakfast is fantastic as is the food in the evening. Everything about this hotel is great!

We found the updated hotel very nice to stay in. Our room did not have a bathtub and I was looking forward to a nice relaxing bath. If you get a special rate, senior's or BCAA etc, the breakfast is not included which is rather cheap and we were not informed of this. Just make certain that you know what you're getting.

We spent the last two nights of our trip to Vancouver island in Victoria at the Double tree and we loved it!! We arrived to a wonderful and professional young man who had our reservation and we had been upgraded to a one bedroom suite on the 14th floor---oh the view!! All staff were helpful and professional. Our room was very good with a few quibbles----the bedroom was just a bit small which meant the big flat screen overpowered the room a bit and in the bathroom, which was nicely fitted out, ... In a word- Fantastic. The staff. The rooms, the food. And OMG- The beds! The Serta beds they use will be the best night's sleep you will ever have. The front desk experience opens it off with the obligatory, yet gracious, cookie. The entire staff was wonderful, but I should point out Ryan for going above and beyond so I could find out where I can get that bed for my house!
