Lovely staff, apartments, and neighborhood. Easy access by walking or biking to all of west end. Only a few blocks walk to seawall and False Creek Ferry landing. Longer but doable walk to Stanley Park. Bike rental shops everywhere. Great restaurants within a block or two. You won't regret your stay here!

We stayed here for one night before heading home and it was better than we thought as it was booked at late notice. It's quite a dated hotel but I think it adds to its quirks and charms. The reception staff were very nice, and the rooms extremely spacious. The air con was 70's New York style in the bedroom window but it worked so that's all good. The location is really good. Breakfast was strange as you had to take your plates and bowls down to reception, get your food and then go back up... Read more

The hotel is in a nice location in central Vancouver. Parking is a bit difficult to figure out at first, especially since there was construction going on at the time of my stay. Once parked, check in was easy and the staff were very friendly. The room was nice and decently clean. I was on the 11th floor and the views of the city were nice from this height. My only complaint was that either from another room or one of the local clubs, there was a noticeable music with heavy bass at 1-2am, which w... Read more

Sunset Inn & Suites offers accommodation of an impressive standard at very reasonable prices. It is interestingly located adjacent to very cosmopolitan Davie St with its variety of great restaurants and shops. Nearby Sunset Beach is also an attraction and the Yaletown-Roundhouse skytrain station is only a short distance away. All staff were extremely helpful and we readily came to terms with the unusual manner in which a wholesome continental breakfast was provided.

Location and staff good. Not a very nice view of alley from our room, and a bit noisy. .Accommodations okay, but would have preferred living room setup, rather than studio, which had no sofa and had to sit on bed to read, or watch TV.

This is in Vancouver's West End - about a 30 minute walk to the business precincts. In a side street, this is reasonably quiet (although some rooms overlook a parking area) and the rooms are large and comfortable. This is an older hotel - around the mid 70s I'd guess, and the kitchens certainly date to that period. The free breakfast included in the rate works pretty well. You take bowls/trays from your room and go down to the foyer to take what you'd like from the small buffet - bread/bagels/c... Read more

The building is a little older, but great people make up for that. It was clean, but buildings built many years ago do not have large wide hallways, or a large lobby. There was free parking in gated area, which was welcome news for one who paid $60 per day to park a car in Seattle. Again, the people (staff) make the difference in any hotel. A word of caution that probably applies to all Vancouver accommodations. If you are from the U.S. you'll find the traffic lanes narrow, the roads congested and parking very tight. The Sunset Inn and Suites is older, but it is a wonderful place to stay. The staff is friendly and helpful and the rooms are great. The hallways are narrow and so are the elevators, which can be tough in the mornings or during heavy traffic times like check in or check out, but that is the only issue I found here at the Inn. As narrow as the hallways are, I was worried about the room, but it was spacious, clean and lovely. We had a one bedroom suite with a kitchen and a pull out couch. It w... Read more

I enjoyed the Sunset Inn, particularly for the friendly staff and the wealth of information provided to guests. The property is a little dated but provides excellent value. Its location in a pleasant residential neighbourhood felt comfortable and restaurants, shops etc. were all close at hand. It would be a really good place for families to stay.

Well, what a fantastic place to stay. We had a spacious suite, with a fully equipped kitchen. So much thought has been put into making the guest's stay the absolute best that it can be. We have stayed in many hotels, none of which come up to the standard of the Sunset Suites. Included in the price are bathrobes, slippers, a room safe, and continental breakfast. Parking is also free. The information book has been thoughtfully produced, and contains everything you need for your stay from details of... Read more

This hotel could not have been better. Our room was actually the equivalent of a fully equipped apartment. We had everything we could have wanted and more. The hotel owner and staff has clearly put a lot of thought into what it's guests might need and they have gone above and beyond to make the rooms perfect. I have never stayed in a better hotel and would not hesitate to return. It is in a quiet neighbourhood with excellent public transport links into Downtown Vancouver. It is also perfectly si... We enjoyed walking to false creek and the restaurant near by. Great to have parking and breakfast included. The room worked great for our family with two sofa beds and a separate bedroom with an incredibly comfortable king size bed and tv.

Clean, quiet, spacious (executive room), free parking and superb location. The staff was friendly, too. Breakfast isn't anything to get excited about, but that's a small detail compared to the positive features. On the 7th floor, had very obstructed views of both the north shore mountains and English Bay, which was simply a bonus.

We were warmly greeted at the front desk every time we walked by. Everyone was helpful and friendly. The room was spacious and well appointed. The location is convenient to most everything in Vancouver. The free parking was an added benefit.

Great location and very good value for the dollar. Rooms are clean and although a little dated, they are perfect if travelling with young kids. Good selection of DVDs in the lobby and a pull out in front of the TV, kept our kids entertained.

Spouse was undergoing major surgery at St.Paul's hospital and Sunset Inn was like going home after hours at the hospital. Quietest hotel ever stayed in away from traffic and yet 5 minutes from hospital and minutes away from restaurants. Secure parking lot with wide stalls also was a nice feature. Will defiantly come back in the spring for spouse next operation. It was also nice to take breakfast back to room. Wish I could give more stars

The hotel was centrally located. It was close to restaurants and car hire. It was great value as it included parking and breakfast. The bed was extremely comfortable, it had a kitchenette, the staff were friendly and helpful, and they offered free umbrellas.

great staff friendly and very accommodating, booked for 4 adults and only 3 of us were able to go so upon check out I was only charged for the 3. the front desk lady was super pleasant to deal with and allowed us to even leave the car as long as we wanted in their free parking spots while we enjoyed a walking tour of the city .

We loved the room and the interior of the hotel. The only downside was that the area of town was a little dirty and loud. You could hear the garbage collectors during the day and emergency vehicles at night. The overall stay was a good experience.

This type of lodging made it quite comfortable for our 5 day stay. The kitchen was essential and made it a more affordable trip. The pillows are large and firm, not my preference but the bed made up for it. There was noise outside at night as our view was of a back lane and there always seemed to be commotion but not the fault of the hotel.

This hotel is small and friendly with very helpful staff. The studio suite we stayed in had a really comfortable super king sized bed, desk, armchair, dining room table, kitchen with full sized appliances and a bathroom with shower over bath. The room was in places a little worn at the edges but everything worked and there were basic cooking implements, saucepans , crockery etc as well as two coffee makers, kettle, microwave, toaster and teapot. Be aware that you collect your continental breakfast... Read more

Clean, comfortable, convenient and a great value. Sunset Inn and Suites is a wonderful option for business or pleasure travel. The kitchen in the suite is very convenient. Lots of great restaurants and take-out options in the neighbourhood. Front desk staff are more helpful than at the most deluxe hotels anywhere!

I stayed here with my family and mom. We got a Standard Large 1 Bedroom Suite with King, Kitchen & Balcony - 2 sofa beds. It was very comfortable for 5 people. We were pleased that it was very clean and had everything we may have needed (kitchen, microwave, dishes, cups, coffee machine, iron, fridge, etc). It was a plus that it offered parking which can be expensive in downtown Vancouver and it offered breakfast to take it to your room.
