We used to stay at the previous incarnation of the Moda when it was the Dufferin. The new management have totally modernised the hotel and provided a different but very pleasant result. The staff are ever so helpful. The new double-glazing windows ensure that the rooms remain quiet of any street noise. For persons new to Vancouver, this hotel is very centrally located and within walking distance of most downtown sites. There are eating facilities but we did not try them.

Hotel adequate , central location , pleasant staff helpful . Arrived early at 11 am giving wifi in reception and complimentary baggage stowage which very helpful while waiting checking .... Room allocated which was disappointed with slopping floors room . Reallocated room with nearly level floors but noise with A/C units outside window ,2 nights was enough with ear plugs and eye mask . Very limited lighting in room I.e no ceiling lights just a table light and bedside .

I have stayed here a few times over the years, small boutique hotel in central location. Nice staff, good restaurant. But it is in serious need of painting, new furniture, some additional amenities would nice. I am going to look for another small hotel in the area for my next trip to B.C.

Usually I've stayed at larger chain hotels, or in nearby Richmond, but this time I wasn't planning the trip and it was with friends so we decided on the Moda. A small boutique hotel, most guests use the stairs to traverse the different floors. Given that the elevator looks like it is 50 years old, I don't blame them. Stayed here with some friends and had an OK stay. The rooms were adequate, the beds comfortable, and bathrooms clean. Everything could use a bit of a facelift though. There is free... Read more

This hotel has a quirky charm, is in a brilliant position for public transport, restaurants, theatres and even a fresh food market just down the street. We arrived very late on a Friday night, which was not a problem, and slept well despite having a room at the front, because of the double glazed windows. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, but did not have a fan in the bathroom, and only provided one small cake of soap and no body wash. The only real... The location and the price for this hotel make the stay enjoyable, a real deal to be so centrally located in downtown Vancouver. After reading the reviews we made sure to ask for a quieter room which helped that we backed into the alley/condo building vs. one of the busier streets (Seymour or Smithe). However, keep in mind that the building is old, so you can hear the people above and beside you and in the morning the water pipes sing from people taking their showers. Rooms are small but do the ... Read more

Good location, close to hop on off trolley stops and easy 15 minute walk to waterfront. The room was a good size and had been updated so no complaints there. Elevator was small and old and out of order on one occasion so were happy we were only on 2nd floor. New restaurant attached was good for breakfast. Found staff to be pleasant and happy to answer questions. All in all good 3 day stay

Great location and within walking distance of tons of restaurants and night clubs. The rooms are tiny as is the lobby. The website photos make everything appear much larger. Easy taxi ride from the airport and within walking distance to the cruise terminal although with luggage, we decided to take a cab. The staff is very friendly.

My wife and I stayed at the Moda on June 2 for one night. We were looking for a reasonably priced location close to the Cruise Ship dock at Canada Place and his met the qualifications. No problem with street noise or crowd noise from the Red Card Sports Bar. Close to restaurants and shopping, Hop-On/Hop-Off Bus. Taxi from the airport to the hotel was $40.00 and to the Cruise Ship Port just $14.00 (both prices with tips). Room was small but we used it for sleeping only so it was adequate. F... Read more

This was more a 3 and a half star from me but as that still doesn't exist "average" seems a bit mean. The room was certainly nothing to write home about (maybe not quite as spruce as the official photos would suggest) but we got a bargain price and it had everything we needed. Plus the location between Yale Town (5 mins) and Gastown (15 mins) was excellent. We even walked to Stanley Park one morning when our jet lag meant we were too early for the trolleys. My husband and I stayed at the Moda Hotel twice on our recent trip to Canada. The hotel was in a great location for us - close to the central skytrain station, good shops and supermarket. Easy walk to the free Capilano shuttle bus. Tim Hortons and Starbucks just around the corner. Also not far from Gastown. Room was clean and comfortable although not very soundproof. Staff were helpful and got us into a room earlier than the stated check in time which was great and offered bag storage if needed.

Located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, Moda offered the best combination of price and location I could find on Trip Advisor. Our four day stay at Moda did not disappoint. Among the little "extras" I did not expect were: 1. Double windows that reduced street noise. 2. $10 credit for breakfast at Ciba restaurant located in the hotel. Breakfasts were exceptionally good, offering a broad range of choices. Great value. 3. Just around the corner from Moda is the Red Card, a lively sports ba... Read more

Don't rent out the rooms right above the bar and expect us to be happy. It's very loud and ruins all the effort made in making the room look great. A very chic ,modern hotel in the centre of the city. I Stayed only for one night, but the experience was totally positive. Very pleasant stuff and a really good restaurant. I would definately book again ,if I was going to Vancouver!

I like the Moda, it's convenient, not overly expensive, and is located in a very central location in downtown Vancouver. Stayed there on the return from a Skiing trip to Whistler, and the Whistler shuttle drops off at the Clarion Budget hotel, which is around the corner and down the block from the Moda. This time, I will be staying there before heading up to Whistler.

I've really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend the Moda Hotel to my friends and business partners. Excellent and friendly. Well located in downtown Vancouver. Lots of shopping close by and easy access to transit system.
