The Metropolitan is situated in the middle of downtown. Perfect location and in close proximity to everything one could possibly need. Skytrain is a mere 5 minutes walk and the shopping mall (Pacific Centre) is literally just round the corner from the hotel. One couldn't ask for a more convenient location. A lot of tourist attractions within walking distance and some good food options just down the road. Rooms were a bit on the small side but were clean. Beds were comfortable. A little street... Ecellent place to get your land legs back after being at sea for a week or more. It's only a few blocks up the street from the port, so no cab or bus is necessary. They let us check in around 9:30am so we didn't have to leave our luggage or run around in our last day cruise clothes. The room was top of the line with a nice view and close to the hop on, hop off tour bus. The only bummer was that the shower and sink water took forever to get hot and didn't stay hot long. However, the bathroom was... Read more

The hotel is located within easy walking distance of the waterfront and cruise terminal. The staff were all very welcoming and made every effort to be helpful whenever possible. The gym is reasonably well equipped and the pool, although quite small, is adequate and never crowded. Nice whirlpool too. Breakfast buffet is quite limited but you don't have to go for the buffet there is an alternative menu from which you can order. Overall the hotel just seemed a bit dated and in need of refurbishment... Read more

This hotel is conveniently located on Howe and West Georgia. Sky train stations are with a block so getting here is simple. With a car, accessing the entrance is tight and not well marked from the street so keep your eyes open. I prefer the valet parkkng option as it is a tight underground parkade. The rooms are a little dated but they are clean, decently appointed, and have good working AC. Only negative is the road noise depending on room and floor. Stayed 4 nights and was pleasantly surprised by this nice boutique hotel. Room had a comfortable king bed and spacious bathroom with a shower stall and separate bathtub. There was a small keurig coffee maker in the room and complimentary wi-fi. I stayed on the 12th floor and hoped to have a view but I think the hotel is surrounded by other buildings so don't expect a view of the ocean or mountains as I have had at other Vancouver hotels. Stayed at this hotel recently post Alaskan cruise. Perfect location nestled among the best of Vancouver's luxury hotels and within easy walking distance to Stanley Park, English Bay, Granville Island and the harbour front walk along Coal Harbour. Large spacious room with large bathroom/separate shower and bath. Coffee making facilities. Luxury bedding. Super fast wi-fi in bedrooms and lobby. Arrived here after a wonderful cruise, everything was perfect. Check in was 3, but they let us go to our rooms earlier than we expected. Room was lovely, shower and bath which was a bonus. Coffee machine, music system, iron and board. House keeping were the best. Didn't have time to try the restaurant and bar "Diva" but looked lovely. Location was fantastic. As always, it was like coming home again, in a way. We feel very welcome, likely due to the fact that many of the staff, particularly Oliver (concierge) and Peter (bellman) have become friends over the years. As for the hotel experience, it was, as always, unblemished. We can't wait to return!

Stayed for four nights while attending the International Jazz Festival. On a par with Hyatt, Hilton, Marriott, etc. Professional, helpful staff. Large room with comfortable bed and quality amenities. Small workout room and pool. Large hot tub. Feels like an 1980's or 1990's hotel (e.g. phone in bathroom, well worn arm chairs in room). Could be upgraded to a more modern decor. We took the skytrain from the airport (30 mins and cheap) and the stop closest to the hotel was only a block away. The hotel's location is fantastic which allowed us to walk everywhere. We had a great room with a large bathroom and small balcony.
