I am very fond of the Hyatt chain. As a very active business traveler I have been at the highest loyalty status with four of the top chains. Hyatt has the the best program for elite members. The standards for the Hyatt Regency are high and maintained. You can count on a great bed and bedding, stylish rooms, and good service. Having said that, some are better than others. I can say that this Hyatt Regency is my favorite. Everything is first rate but for elite members I can tell you that the Reg... Read more

As Hyatt Hotel's go one of the best. A lot better rooms and service than the Toronto Hyatt although they could still do with a little updating. The room cleaners did an exceptional job each day. The breakfast brunch in the grille room I would highly recommend.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel which was very clean and the the staff was very courteous and friendly. They were always eager to assist with directions. The hotel is located in downtown Vancouver in walking distance of the port. There's a McDonald's and Drug store and mall connected to the hotel. I loved their elevators system set up. You pick the floor and it tells you which elevator to get on. That was the first time I've ever seen that set up.

Hyatt Regency Hotel at Vancouver BC is right next to the Burrard metro station, and only about 10 mins easy walk to Canada Place for our cruise the next day. Staff were friendly at both check-in and check-out, including accommodating our request for late checkout. Horrible customer service. This is my first negative review out of all the hotels I have stayed at. We paid for an upgraded room so that we could celebrate our anniversary downtown. First the agent was not willing to honor a balcony room, and tried to charge us an additional amount for it on top of what we had paid. There were no congratulations or greetings either. The bathrooms look like they have seen better days, and are in desperate need for a renovation. Disappointing experience, a stark c... Read more

The breakfast next morning was so yummy, a lot of choices and the gentleman who was on the omelette station was friendly and made me feel welcomed. Great location, near the waterfront. We stayed here for two days following an Alaska cruise. The location was perfect for first-time visitors to Vancouver like us: close to many good restaurants in various price ranges, walking distance to the waterfront and much shopping, a stop on the on-off bus-tour---see the concierge for instructions and a discount. In fact, see the concierges for everything; they were friendly, helpful, well-informed, and never steered us wrong while we were there. Starbucks in the lobby is a plus. We had a n... Read more

The hotel itself is a bit dated and lacked atmosphere. Being a vegetarian the food options on the in house menu is limited as too is the menu in the restaurant and not flexible in providing alternatives, which was surprising for the Hyatt. Gym pretty small, but you can climb the stairs to the too floor which is 34 floors - that was the highlight. Close to shopping and harbour. A better hotel option is Four Seasons, Pan Pacific or Fairmont Pacific - for rooms, food and ambience.

I stayed here for business conference and need to goto convention centre. Other hotels are either too expansive or fully booked. Luckily, I booked Hyatt regency. It's less than 10 mins walks to convention centre and very closed to train stations and shopping street. However, the room was quite small (standard double room). It's not impressive but satisfied my requirement. The souvenir is quite good.

Buses and trains and food trucks were close by and it is an easy walk to the harbor. Shopping and plenty of restaurants are nearby.

I got a room with a balcony and almost the top the floor, but there were other buildings blocking the view. I would think this place might have a had a great view a long time ago. The check in process was fast and I was in the room really quick. Since it was not too late, I could quickly roam around the city on foot. Everything was nearby. Even the METRO rail was nearby. So this is a great location. The room furnishing is a bit old, but still nice and clean.

Overnight stay before cruise. Very clean. Good size room. Fridge and safe in room. Super friendly staff. The digital elevator button was a little confusing at first for this old man. Wired Internet port and fast, free wireless. Plenty of plugs. Quiet except for one siren that we heard from the 16th floor, but then again, we are in the middle of town.

We stayed for one evening before a cruise, and we're lucky enough to get put in a corner suite- it was MASSIVE! Comfortable beds, location is central to everything. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the elevators really are not that hard to use at all. Grain Bar was great for a quick drink with good drink specials and a nice view of Burrard St.

This Hyatt Regency had beautiful rooms, an interesting elevator system and a great Starbucks in the lobby! The location was close enough to the water and the cruise ship port that it was walkable as well as many other shopping and eating venues. We were fortunate to have a room an end room on an upper floor with views of the harbor area. I would definitely stay here again. We had happy hour in the Mosaic bar. The staff was terrific. The location is good and the staff can provide matches. Upon check in I was told that I had a suite with a balcony, then told I did not have one. The room I was given was an accessible room, which would have been okay if the shower did not drain into the whole bathroom floor, soaking the pathway to the sink and toilet, wet socks much? I saw no less than a dozen people get confused by the elevator system, including myself. Even with a pre-select system you will be waiting for a while for an ele... Read more

The room was very spacious and had a nice city view. It is a great location. We had a king size bed (however the mattress could have been firmer), large desk and comfy chair, and a large bathroom. Free wi-fi. It has a unique elevator system (you select the floor before you enter the elevator). This was the first hotel on our 10 day trip to have a Starbucks in the lobby! We enjoyed sitting on their outside bar area, in their Grains Bar, overlooking the streets. We walked all around downtown V... Read more

This is an extremely outdated hotel that charges more than $500 per night for its most basic rooms that are stuffy and smells your grandmas house. The elevator system they've employed is "innovative" but has guests waiting for up to 20 minutes to get down to the lobby. Front desks staff are not very welcoming, professional, or knowledgeable. The first room I arrived have dirty markings on linens and a sagging sealy mattress. I requested a room switch, with no apologies from the staff, and was t... Read more

Room clean, staff polite .... but ..... paid for an upgrade to a room with a view and balcony. The view was ok but balcony had cigarette ash and tobacco on the table and floor. Needed cleaning outside as well as in. Is it a Canadian thing that you have to pay for water, coffee etc in the room. Not the case in the UK. If we ever go again we will ignore the view / balcony sell!

For the price of $377 I had expected a little more. The room was small and basic. Also, 1 tea bag and 3 coffee pods were complementary. However, the coffee was all strong and we were both tea drinkers. There were only two sugars, two creamers and two stir sticks. The water was $3,00; I thought for this price, the bottled water might be complementary.

We were in 4 star agreement upon checking out. Impressed with the responsiveness of all the staff whenever we needed something. Fast elevator service for a fully booked hotel. As previous reviews mentioned a superb location for getting around city either walking or public transportation. Clean, bright rooms with refrigerator and in room Starbucks coffee. Towels were not plush but did the job. Akiko in registration at checkin made us feel very welcome. We recommend.

We chose this motel because any excursion we were planning did a shuttle service to the Hyatt or Canada place which made things easy without a vehicle. Room was clean and comfortable. Service is also good at reception and concierge is very informative as well. The outdoor pool and hot tub area was clean and acceptable as well. I'd return

This hotel is very central for walking to places. We brought our friends here with us this year and they loved it. Close to some nice restaurants. Also they have free wi-fi now which is really great. Four years ago I stayed here and I spent my time at Starbucks inside the lobby to get free wi-fi. So was great to use in own room this time.

A very clean hotel with good people to serve you. These guys are really friendly AND timely, too. Example - we needed some extra soap then called the front desk. We had our soap in less than 5 minutes AND we were on the 23rd floor, too. The bar is run by some real nice, funny guys and gals. Never a dull moment! Also, everyone there really know the local dining spots. For sure, you'll like this place.

This hotel couldn't be more convenient to restaurants, shops, sites, and public transportation. There's a Starbuck's in the hotel, and a so-so restaurant that's a little on the pricey side. I would opt for eating in some of the nearby restaurants. The hotel is spotless and the staff helpful.

Stayed with my 2 young daughters one night. They put us next to a room attached by an adjoining door. We could hear everything, which at 6 or 7 in the evening amounted to "Oh, God, yes! Uuuungh yes. Do it, baby. Oooooh, yes." This was punctuated by various moans, with a rhythmically creaking bed banging against the wall. It was all quite clear. This was followed by mindless chatter, all of which we could also hear. As though they were in the same room as us. When they lit out for a night of dinn... Read more

This is a nice hotel--what you would expect from an upscale hotel for premium price. The outdoor pool and hot tub are fantastic, especially if you're traveling with kids, and the fitness center overlooks the pool and is great. Good room on 23rd floor. Facing the mountains ain't quite what it used to mean - getting a bit built in these days. Great breakfast available on level 2. Rooms have a good level of fit out, come bed, good TV / movie service. Just tried the calamari and the butter chicken. Loved them both. Not the cheapest place in town, but would be my first choice.

Due to its downtown location, it is understandable that the hotel has to implement security precautions. It took us a while to understand how the elevators work, but once we figured it out, we appreciated the efficient system. Room was adequate, but a bit cramped with a rollaway. One minor quibble - Guest Services emailed in advance to ask what it could do to make our stay special. I replied that we were celebrating a major event. No reply and no special amenity.
