Save a few bucks by staying a little farther away from the waterfront. This place is perfectly comfortable and has reasonable food and bar. Service is pleasant and friendly. Underground parking is convenient, and there are lots of good restaurants in the area, so not constrained to eating in-house. Still easy walking distance to the water front, convention centre, Harbour Air etc.

No complaints at all...had a wonderful time and the staff downstairs in the foyer bar and front desk were wonderful. It is a comfortable flat walk to Gastown and the Vancouver Tower and Canada Place. Also short walk to Granville Island but get the Hornby St ferry to save time.

We arrived at the same time as a large group and the front desk were very welcoming and pro-actively helpful in trying to find a quicker way for us to avoid the line. The bartender Dave was very unprofessional and was ranting and swearing to another coworker (who was off shift) about his manager and coworkers while we had a drink at the bar right in front of them. I'm assuming because we were a similar age he thought we wouldn't mind but it left a really bad first impression and was certainly no... Read more

Good hotel, room was clean and the bed & pillows were super comfy. The linens are also luxurious. I was given a room on the second floor and was unpleasantly surprised when just a few feet away from my room were 5 stairs leading down to the hallway to get there. I had a trolley full of luggage and there was no ramp. Wouldn't be much of an issue hauling everything down except I have an invisible illness which makes this physical exertion extremely difficult. This is an excellent hotel and the staff from reception to housekeeping and from bar to restaurant are all extremely helpful and friendly. Its location is good within easy reach of all the main Vancouver attractions. It is just 5 blocks (10 minutes walk) from Yaletown and its proliferation of great restaurants. The small restaurant area and bar in the hotel does good food too. It could do with the addition of safe boxes in the rooms for tourists, but I would have no hesitations in recommending t... Our experience with Holiday Inn in the States is very good; therefore we were quite disappointed with this facility - only one elevator for a 7 story hotel - virtually no water pressure on Monday morning prior to early departure - very friendly helpful staff doesn't make up for facility inadequacies - don't stay here unless you can handle the inconvenience.

The first room we were assigned had a strong smell of cigarette smoke. We requested another room and were placed right next to a noisy elevator--which happened to be the only elevator in working order in the lobby area, so it was constantly going up and down. We asked for yet another room and were given a 6th floor room overlooking the back alley, across the hall from our originally assigned room. We had a night here at the end of a tour. It is very large and rooms are well appointed. After 9 nights on tour we noticed that in contrast to previous places, economy was evident in that only one tea bag and one coffee bag were provided for two people. First 2 nights of our fly-drive holiday and initial impressions were favourable. Our tour documents were waiting for us upon arrival at reception which helped. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The location is ok and the walk to English Harbour took us about 20 minutes. Yes it is quite noisy but this is a city with lots of traffic so what else would you expect. It adds to the atmosphere anyway. We enjoyed the little seating area by the front entrance outside the bar at night. The bre... Read more

I stayed in a lovely room with a small kitchen on the 3rd floor. The room was immaculate and the bed linens were perfect for me....I slept like a rock! I really enjoyed the location as I could walk to so many great restaurants and places of interest. I ate two meals in the small downstairs dining room and they were both great with fresh-squeezed orange juice and very fresh ingredients. They offer secure parking at an affordable rate. I would definetly stay here again.

Great location, walking distance to downtown, yaletown, etc. The hotel is older but for the price and the amenities, there is nothing to complain about. Staff was wonderful. Rooms had everything you could want. My only gripe was the water temperature. It was spotty and doesn't last very long. Other than that, enjoyed my stay and would stay again.

While the hotel looks a bit dated, the room was lovely and well appointed. The fitness center is small, but has everything you need. Easy 1mi walk to the convention center via the shopping area with coffee shops and the Pacific Centre mall. Several good restaurant on Granville a block away.

This is the 2nd time I've stayed in this hotel with 4 years between visits and I found exactly the same issues. Firstly the noise. Hotel is located on a main road and rooms are not well insulated against noise. We faced out on to Howe Street. Secondly, the air-conditioning; admittedly we stayed in summer and it was warm, but the aircon barely spits out cool air and there is no choice but to open the windows, which only open a crack, and it is unbearably noisy. On the plus side, the beds are c... Read more

Good budget hotel. Close to Granville St. Room was comfortable, however, depending on where your room is, you might need to climb one flight of stairs, which is a hassle especially for people with mobility difficulties or with big luggages. Public transport is adequate and plentiful near and around the hotel. Or for people prefer walking, you can walk to Robson St, or even to Granville Island Market (using ferry crossing). Check in and check out is prompt and easy.

On a recent trip to Vancouver, we stayed at this downtown hotel. The staff members were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. It was conveniently located, and not too far from Granville Street. As we were able to get the room through Air Miles, I can??t comment on the value. There was an indoor swimming pool and a workout room, but we wee too busy to make us of either. I liked the rooms on the fifth floor that faced the city. The view was amazing.

The room was spacious except for the very small bathroom. The elevators are some of the smallest I have seen anywhere. The room was clean. The included breakfast was decent. The area is typical of many big cities, some adjoining streets seem safer to walk than others. No issue during the day when the streets are crowded, more caution is reasonable after dark.

Stayed for 4 days before a cruise. Good location and easy walking to various restaurants. Hop-on trolley / bus and bus links very close. Clean hotel, quiet with friendly, helpful staff throughout. Nice breakfast / lunch area near main lobby. Special thanks and Kudos to Donna and Jesse in breakfast area for good service and many chuckles during our visit. We would stay there again.

Clean hotel in a good location (very close to most attractions) and it had secure parking. Service was adequate. The rooms were rather small. The most annoying issue was the loud elevator. We stayed for 3 nights and on our first night, we were right beside the elevator. This was a problem for anyone who is a light sleeper. The staff accommodated a move down the hall for the next night. The sound from the elevator wasn't as noticeable but it was still present. The hotel is older (at least 30 year... Read more

Good hotel in a good location in Vancouver. Right next to Yaletown which has some great bars and restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk. Room was comfy but the only thing I didn't like was that the sink was outside of the bathroom, bit odd! We had breakfast included in our rate, which was quite poor, but I suppose it was something to keep you going. The only thing that disappointed me was that the concierge order is a taxi to take us to the rail station, but the company they used was utte... Read more

Small bar in lobby if you don't feel like going out. Serve a solid breakfast. Fast easy check in and out.

Our room was on the 6th floor. Lifts are small and a little slow but worth the wait. Lovely big room which was clean and has an opening door onto a small balcony. Lounge, fridge, kettle, iron and board, king bed, comfy pillows, ticks all the boxes for me. Room for bags and cases and has a reasonably priced restaurant in the foyer. Walk approx 6 blocks toward the City and you'll find a huge under ground shopping centre with nordstrums, Hudson Bay and plenty of small shops. Great affordable break... Read more

Things I liked: 1) Location 2) Price - Great deal 3) Holiday Inn brand 4) Kids eat free Things I wish were better: 1) 1st room had a mouse in it (saw it as we walked in the room). I am sure this is a more common problem than people realize, but none the less it is not a good 1st impression. Management moved us to another room and comped us some breakfast. I am not sure how I feel about this experience and I am on the fence if it was handled well. 2) The TV kept cutting in & out. We were ... Read more

The staff are wonderful people. Room was great for what we needed. Within walking distance in downtown Vancouver to restaurants, theaters and clubs. Four stars for the staff. I hope the idiot who stayed on Room 710 on November 19th. You are a rude angry drunk. You punched a hole in the wall of your room at least three times. Yes three times because I could hear you hitting the wall. I am surprised the door was still in the hinges in the morning after you banged and kicked it several times tryi... Read more

We stayed in Vancouver for 5 days. Overall I have no complaints about this hotel. We got a great price per room on Hotwire. King room with large couch. Very comfortable. My only complaints are the same as pretty much every hotel: horrible pillows, weird room lighting, not the best shower. Bonus: the pool is open 24 hours. It's also heated to 85 degrees which is nice. Great location walking distance to a lot of Vancouver sites.

This is a return to this motel. As I have commented previously, the location is just fantastic. It is close to bus routes and close to restaurants and only a few blocks away from the shopping centers. The staff are very polite and very knowledgeable of the attractions to go and see and nothing is too hard for them to do. We stayed on the 6th floor and the view was north direction. The sunrises were just amazing. The room was very well appointed with tea and coffee facilities, fridge, iron and iron... Read more

1 night stay, double chargement from the man named MASA in the front desk! Force me to make another other and refused to cancel my primary order! Marked my primary order as no show! Even I still stay in this hotel now! I stayed in one room but should pay double! By the way, MASA is a really rude man who serve in front desk.

Booked this hotel through airmiles as it was one of the choices that did not eat up a large amount of points. I was pleasantly surprised by the accommodations. The hotel is older but they have worked hard to keep the rooms up to date and aesthetically pleasing. All staff members were very friendly. We found everything to be clean and were overall happy with our stay. A few of the downfalls were the elevator. It may be worth the hotel to take out the two tiny elevators and expand to just one la... Read more
