Luckily our room didn't overlook Robson St. and was very spacious and quiet. Great breakfast restaurant right across the street. However our friend's room was on the street and the noise was so loud and annoying they didn't sleep at all for 2 nights. There is no elevator which was a disadvantage for a 65 yr old woman with a slight disability. It's in a fairly nice neighborhood with lots of shops, Asian restaurants, Whole Foods market, etc. and public transportation. It's conveniently located b... Read more

Booking a suite, I was enticed by an offered kitchenette. Oops! The «kitchenette» lacks even the basic equipment like microwave, there was nothing to cook in or on! After asking at the front desk we??ve got the rusty frying pan and dirty cooking pot, both totally unfit for use. Furthermore, the phrase «One of our bestsellers in Vancouver!» on booking.com site is definitely misleading. The only plus is the good location right on on Robson St. near the «Hop on hop off» bus station, wit... Read more

The Greenbrier is dingy, it just has a rundown, cheap, smelly way about it. The bath had no plug, the room not even a spoon in the kitchen. A smell of mould meant spraying my perfume everywhere. The bedroom with no window. Thin awful bedding. After three weeks of air b and b it was a real come down. And after being at the amazing The Lodge in Sooke for half the prive. Vancouver is expensive and the location is excellent.

Really comfortable and spacious room. Actually the room was a nice apartment, with living room and kitchen: superb! Great cleanliness and very quiet hotel, even if I stayed in a room at ground floor. All staff was fantastic. Not expensive.

It's in a good location close to stanley park, lots of restaurants, supermarket & public transport. Good price especially as Vancouver is a bit expensive generally. The staff are lovely. Interesting things to watch out for: * no lift, but that is stated in booking info * wifi leaves a lot to be desired * although the room has kitchenette there are no pots, pans, toaster, kettle in the room you have to ask for it all.

The location was very centralized and convenient for our transportation needs. The staff were very helpful. Our corner suite was very clean and well appointed, An elevator wold have made us more comfortable, but only one floor was not too bad for 2 old ladies. We wold stay there again.

Vancouver in the Summer is not a cheap place to visit and the Greenbrier offers the opportunity to be downtown affordably if you are willing to make a few sacrifices.Lets start with what you need to know: There is no elevator and our room was on the top (3rd) floor. It did not present any problems for us but it is good to know in advance. We happened to catch the first "hot spell" of the Summer and there is no airconditioning. This would seem to be a problem on the rare occasion it is hot in Van... Read more

On the positive, this hotel is well placed for the west end, on a vibrant street and within easy walking distance of many attractions. The hotel is clean, and the staff friendly. On the negative side, there is no aircon (which we knew) but this hotel really needs it. The WiFi is really bad with regular interruptions to the service making it practically unusable. The kitchenette comes with no equipment... You have to ask for each bit you want. And the cherry was them wanting to charge us for min... Read more

While the rooms DO have a kitchen ( the place is a former apartment building), that's about all it has. No elevator, no a/c and the cooking equipment consisted of a dirty frying pan and a saucepan from the drugstore down the street. No microwave, and the stove allows you to use the burners OR the oven, but not at the same time. We needed a can opener. They did provide one after asking for it at the front desk. There was a dishcloth, an ancient sponge and dish soap in a reused shampoo bottle. Ope... Read more

The location of this hotel was perfect. The hotel is an older building, has no elevator and does need a lot of repair. The room was spacious and the beds were fairly comfortable. There was a vent fan in the bathroom that was on the same switch as the light - so it was on all the time the light was on. That fan was really noisy & annoying. What made this hotel really special is the staff - they were all "super". As far as correcting things~ they had no authority as they would always have to ... Read more
