We stayed at the Shangri-La Toronto with our two boys ages 11 and 8. We used their pick up service and that was quite excellent. On arrival we were offered an upgrade to the Shangri-La Suite for a very modest amount which we glad fully accepted. The room was enormous, complete with a kitchen and a small gym. It had a large lounge, two large bedrooms, two amazing bathrooms and even a dining room. Room service was reasonable in price and exceptional in quality. The hotel has a lovely spa and swi... So let's start with some background: I go to the Shangri-La exclusively everytime I'm in Toronto, weather it be on business or for pleasure with family. I don't think I've been to any hotel in North America that meets the level of service I get here and I'd say it's still in the top 5 for Asia luxury hotels which are very Customer centric. My family feels the same. My daughter who's 11 and has travelled with me around the world always asks when we're going to go back...That's saying something! ... Read more

Entered the hotel from University Avenue. Looks like a nice space, given over to a cafe or bar. Not sure where you would check in, however we were just there for an event. No signs indicating where the event was taking place. Tried the electronic board, but no info relating to the event. Tried a guy at one of the two desks but he didn't know about the event. Finally found a concierge desk off behind a column, and someone looked it up on a clipboard and reassured us we were in the right hotel and... Read more

My wife and I recently returned to Bosk at the Shangri-La for dinner. On our last visit, it was truly exceptional, food, service wine and details. On this visit, it was a whole new restaurant, and the results were not nearly as memorable. We asked for Mark, the affable and electric Sommelier and Manager that we had come to expect to guide us, but were told he had moved on. Pity. We asked for a Sommelier, and were told she was off on this night. We carried on as usual, noticing the room was ... Read more

Best: friendly and competent staff who remember you and make stay pleasant. Spacious rooms, good beds and AV. Nice breakfast (and calm before 8am). Good: convenient walking distance to much of downtown business and leisure/shopping. Well equipped 24h gym and good sized pool. Clean and well maintained. Not so good: no business center, ridiculous bottles of shampoo etc for a 5* hotel, situated in lower floors of building so not such good views (high floors are apartments). Bad: very noisy ro... We visited the Shangri-La Hotel for afternoon tea in April for a family birthday. Afternoon tea is served in the lobby which isn't as nice as a dedicated restaurant as other hotels offer. The lobby is quite busy and with the doors opening all the time, it got quite chilly (in April). However, this atmosphere made up for this. The decor is wonderful and the staff were very polite and helpful. I particularly liked the extensive tea menu, which included fruit infusions for non-tea drinkers. I aske... Read more

We stayed as part of a business reward trip with my husbands firm. I would not normally opt to stay in a city centre hotel but the Shangri-La was the perfect example of urban chic. Our room was a nice size with modern features, I particularly enjoyed being able to control everything with the iPad. The hotel is well located so we spent most of our time out and about, but I did make use of the gym and pool facilities. One thing that needs to be changed, or looked into, melodies from piano too loud. I think that needs to be toned down just a tad. Other than that, great place for a relaxing afternoon tea. P.S. The Shangri-La Hotel Toronto has some good things going for it - good location, modern design and some up-to-date technologies in the rooms. However, overall, my experience was rather under-whelming, especially in view of the relatively high prices they charged. For this visit, the check-in was generally straightforward and hassle free. We had a great time at the hotel and the accommodations were really nice but there was a huge safety issue with the windows in the rooms. I suppose accidents happen but the way this luxury hotel's front office management have dealt with me and my wife is inexcuseable and has caused Toronto Police to open a hit and run investigation into the incident. This past Thursday going into the Labour Day weekend I left my Audi A6 with the hotel valet service who know me by name. When I returned later for the car, I was first asked to pay at the front desk, then approached by security service staff who said "the hotel apologizes for what ... Read more

What a top notch hotel! I have traveled worldwide and it is hard to impress me, but Shangri-La sure did. Unfortunately we only stayed one night as it was an impromptu pass thru Toronto and I would've enjoyed exploring the amenities. The location was wonderful and the Staff and valets were very accommodating. Well done!

I never typically stay in high end luxury hotels, preferring small boutique hotels with personalized service. But for the past 3 years, business has taken me to Toronto and the Shangri-La and every time it has been fantastic. And having a Momofuku in the hotel? I mean I'd stay there just for that!

My husband and I stayed at the Shangri-La for our honeymoon whilst we were in Toronto, we booked a suite and were not let down. The room was incredible, everything you could possibly need or want the hotel provided. Upon hearing we were honeymooners they even left us some chocolates, and a small bottle of champagne. We used the concierge several times with various booking confirmations and tours, and they were brilliant (especially Ryan and Margarita). Nothing was too much to ask, and everything... Read more

Stayed here for 4 nights visiting Toronto from UK. Lovely hotel very clean and sleek. The rooms and bathroom are beautiful!!! Great location! Couple of downsides - housekeeping did not come to clean our room till 5pm? At that time we were getting ready to go out so had to decline. Felt like the staff at times could be a bit dismissive because we hadn't rocked up in a Lamborghini - seemed they were most interested in the guests that were flashing the cash!

The Check-in staff was prepared for us at the hotel and we were quickly in our room. We ordered room service at 12:30AM which was promptly delivered with a table and professionally served. The staff is the hotel wa professional and our stay was a pleasant experience in keeping with other Shangri-La hotels around the world.

On 31st morning, the day i checked out, I had a in-room breakfast, which was around $90. Great hotel and service. Family friendly and entertainment in the lobby every evening. Although, they had construction going on our last day which was disappointing. I wish we would have been informed of this when we checked in. This would have allowed us to make other arrangements for that evening. The pool was a perfect down time in the day in between being a tourist. We must have showed up during a time when all families bring their kids.

Great one night stay. Very nice hotel and not much to complain about. Little things like the bed should be replaced pillows way too soft, been there a while and not much support. Huge pillar takes up a lot of room in the room. Great Spa but not cheap, pool is great. We were on the 6th floor facing University Ave. A lot of traffic noise. Would recommend much higher up or moving to the west side of the hotel if you want sleep.

Dont get me wrong this is a great hotel, just in many ways doesnt live up to the same standards as other 5 star hotels I have stayed at. We stayed in the Architect Suite which is basically a deluxe one bedroom suite with some additional decor.
