Hotel seems to be good for business but if going for vacation, it's not the right location. All sights and restaurants are in the downtown area and taxis are VERY expensive and tricky. It's across the street from the Yorkdale mall which is also extremely expensive. There is nothing else around the area. Food at hotel's restaurant is bland, no taste, expensive and their customer service sucks. Spent over an hour waiting for our appetizers and left before we had to wait another hour for the entr... We had a week long meeting in the William Conference Room. The support was attentive, efficient, and complete. In addition to the refreshments in the meeting room, the hotel supplied breakfast and lunch. The food was excellent from the complete and varied buffet. The service from Vesna was perfect and pleasant. She made the meeting so comfortable, I recommended to the organizers to be sure to come back! Thank you for making a potentially dry and tedious week of meetings fun.

I have stayed at the holiday inn at Yorkdale two times over the last month. Both times I have been very impressed by the staff working the front desk. On my first visit to the hotel I was having a struggle finding the exact location. I pulled over and called the front desk and Nikky answered the phone. She was able to guide me to the hotel and once I arrived she was promptly checked me into my room and provided a few jokes; which was some much needed humour after my long trip. On my second visit... I recently stayed in this property for 4 nights and from the moment I checked in I found the staff to be courteous and very helpful, in all departments. The room was in the West Wing, facing on to the highway but believe you me this is far better than having a room which faces on to the central atrium. My room was big and clean, with very comfortable bed, small bathroom and the usual North American habit of supplying paper cups for hot beverages, even in an executive room. I only had breakfast o... Nice property in a convenient location to highways and public transit. Friendly staff. Vesna provides particularly good service at breakfast in the Cafe Monterey. The airport theme is fun, but there should be more airplanes and such if the floors are going to be named flight xwz etc. In past years the food in the dining area has been better, not sure why the breakfast was so bad. Room was clean and very comfortable. It was very quiet at night even though we were close to a major freeway. Buffet breakfast was not impressive. There is a coffee kiosk by the lobby. We bought muffins, yogurt, fruit and good coffee there for two of us for the same price as one buffet breakfast. Yorkdale Mall is just across the street. It is a very upscale mall. Very nice. The hotel is in a more industrial area, so apart from the mall, which is large, there wouldn't be much to see nearby. ... Read more

Second time I stayed here this year & the service was as good as the first time. I was welcomed by Nikki, a customer-oriented lady. I shopped a lot too thanks to the very look location of the hotel. I can't wait to be back again soon.

The staff was very polite and super nice, especially Niki (Nikita Kaur) was very helpful and friendly. This place is right across the street from Yorkdale Shopping Centre (great if you love retail shopping) and a few blocks north of Orfus Road (great if you love discount outlet shopping). It's a bit away from downtown, but it's near the Yorkdale TTC station, so you can easily take public transit downtown if you don't have a car (will take about 30 minutes from Yorkdale Station). Driving downto... Read more

After staying downtown I found this hotel to be much better value than the downtown Holiday Inn Express offerings. The location is across from the Yorkdale mall but is otherwise not overly central and near an old warehouse. The restaurant is pricey but good quality food with healthy options.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights. I picked the hotel for its price and its relative nearness to a Toronto Metro station. The station is about a 10-minute walk. Most of the walk can be made through the mall that is across the street from the hotel. Because we were too tired, we ate here for dinner one night also. The food was pretty good and wasn't overpriced. However, if you're in Toronto, there are many excellent restaurant choices and you could do better than the hotel restaurant. The ... Read more

We were welcomed as honoured friends when we checked in and were given a room in the West Tower reserved for IHG members. Our room overlooked the Atrium. We had the most delicious dinner on our first night where the service was outstanding and the food quality remarkable. You have a choice of pillows on your bed ( soft or firm) and this promotes a feeling of calm especially as the mattress itself is so comfortable. I am a poor sleeper at the best if times and I slept like a baby. My husband said... Read more

The hotel is old , but clean. The saving grace is the location. It's located next to a mall( really high end mall) you can catch the subway in the mall, it's a mile walk from the hotel. The front end staff is very very stuffy, and not very good at helping with directions. More over, it's over $200 US a night and than you pay for parking, $14 and no free breakfast! Wow, I would not stay here again and I've traveled the world several times over!

Stayed at the hotel for three nights while visiting Toronto. It's a lovely hotel with great facilities including a swimming pool and quality restaurant. We ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was really enjoyable. We also had a continental breakfast each day that had a good selection of items including delicious fresh fruit. Our room was a good size and had twin queen beds. We found the TV a bit confusing as we couldn't find a menu of what programmes were on TV each evening and t... Read more

This is definitely an older property, but certainly well maintained and definitely clean. The location is outstanding -- across the road from a beautiful mall and close to the Subway. It worked well for my needs. The staff was always very gracious and helpful. I was disappointed that my room didn't have a safe, but they did offer to store things for me in the hotel safe at the front desk.

Staff was friendly , however I asked about getting to Rogers center and was directed to use the subway station at the mall which was closed and not made aware of the several other closings at several other stations. Hotel staff should be well versed in these matters in my opinion. Getting to and from downtown turned out to be dreadful. Really it's in the middle if no where with downtown prices. Disappointed with the over 20 dollar per head , mediocre breakfast buffet. I won't be going back .

Arrived at hotel welcomed by receptionist called Cassidy, she made us feel at ease, very good customer care, explaining the metro, the hotel, use of the car park. The hotel was near the Metro ideal for travelling into Toronto. The Yorkdale shopping centre has many restaurants, cafes, along with Cinema and shopping.

First I have to say I was impressed by every team member I interacted with at this hotel and their service is good and all seemed genuinely engaged. The management team have done a great job on that front. The issue here is that the premises itself is old. My room had a rather dodgy stain on the carpet, a tub from the 1970's, a/c that rattled and was just all over old - and that was an executive floor! All the hotel infrastructure is old. Making your taxi or driver take a parking ticket to even ... Read more

Salesperson, Carrie Holmes, was amazing! Restaurant staff, courteous and professional! Rooms were impeccable. Overall experience: Beyond excellent!!! Meeting rooms were effectively equipped with the necessary technology for easy communication. Rooms were prepared ahead of time and very comfortable. Breakfast and lunch were great with a lot of choices to cater for any dietary restrictions.

The building is dated. For example the toilets are small. However, the friendliest of the staff from checking, house keeping, and the restaurant makes up for it. The sushi is great. Lots of kids space, small tennis court, pool table, and pool. Very close to the chesswood arena and Yorkdale mall.

I stayed at the hotel for a visit during a conference. The hotel is clean and the common areas are well taken care of. Although I didn't swim the indoor pool area and close by bar looked very nice. The hotel is starting to show its age however but nothing that I found to be in terrible condition. The room was clean and the service was great. The lunch buffet inside the hotel was extremely good with lots of options. The conference room was standard. Yorkdale mall was right across the street w... Read more

Ease of checking in and out. Service was friendly. Breakfast buffet was very good. Close to major highway and across from a mall.

I over night here from time to time and the staff is always helpful. For some reason I end up dealing with Joana more than anyone. She always greets me with a beautiful smile, and goes out of her way to ensure that my stay is satisfactory. Well done Joana! You are a deer! You're the neatest and the hostess!

We've stayed here for over 12 years on our annual fall visit to Toronto. That tells the story. Staff is uniformly helpful and friendly. The few "above-and-beyond" moments we've needed, they have been great in handling. The restaurant is also excellent, we really appreciate the vegan options! Our favorite each year is seing Vesna at breakfast!! She remembers us each year, could not be nicer or more helpful. So many hotels turn over staff. This hotel was rated #24, and I got a good rate. So I picked it and stayed. But when I pulled up, I immediately checked it again to make sure I had the correct one. It looks real bad from the outside. On the inside, the staff are nice and its a basic hotel. It was remodelled a while ago. The rooms are clean but older. The hotel overall has a distinct 1995 feel to it with a 2002 update feel. Room spacious and clean. Bathroom functional. Quiet inside the hotel. However, I could readily hear the ... Read more

Niki Niki Niki I am writing this review because A: I was threatened in the sweetest way by Niki to write and B: she deserves it. She has the best sense of humor. After finishing work everyday i looked for her in the lobby to have a few laughs. Felt like home with great staff around. They take care of all your needs and hear everything you have to say.
