The first impression of the hotel was the friendly and welcoming staff. The first room I was given had a technical issue, so the door would not open. A new room was assigned, which was comfortable and ideal for my needs for a business visit to Toronto. The location and price make it a excellent hotel for a visit to Toronto. In some areas, the common areas are showing there age, but there again, so am I. Thanks to the advice from the front desk staff, I visited Niagara Falls on the Sunday, ... Read more

This hotel is in a fairly good location, it's around 10-15 minute walk to the Eaton centre (Yonge st and Dundas st). The hotel is an interesting place. I've never stayed in a hotel when every time you go to the lift the space is taken by staff and trolleys. The majority of staff are helpful but there were times when they would forget to do something as asked. The configuration of the hotel is also unusual. It's abit like a maze. All the floors look the same and they are quite dull. Despite a... Read more

We stayed at the Holiday Inn for one night in April when we were in Toronto for a weekend getaway. Our main reason for choosing it was location, as we wanted something in midtown. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room. The bed was very comfortable, and the washroom was recently renovated. It's a chain hotel, and nothing particularly fancy, but the location and price were both good, and I would say that it was a notch above comparable hotels I've stayed at in the same part of ... Situated only about a houndred yards from York Mill subway station this hotel has a very good location in Toronto. You can also catch a steet car just outside the hotel. It is even easy to walk to the seaside from the hotel. The rooms have very comfortable beds and in the breakfast room you can order nearly anything that you might wish for breakfast. The room has also a separate toilet. The wifi is, much to my surpise, very fast: great.! above leaded to the "5 dots" score The breakfast is not extensive, but ok. As the song says everything is here Downtown. Holiday Inn keeps the brand name going well and if your used to staying at Holiday Inn's you will feel totally at home. Staff were friendly and very efficient and even the cleaning lady in the gents was happy to banter. We didn't eat or use the bar as we wanted to head out downtown. Using the hotel as a base we walked most of the sights of Toronto with the water front only being a couple of miles at most. We had a problem with the room on checking... Read more

Average because of the size of the rooms! We were a family of four visiting Toronto. My husband was doing some business, and we choose this hotel due to price. We are members of HI and stay in them frequently, but this room was the smallest ever. We even declared it smaller than a room we stayed in while in Venice, Italy. But we made due. Otherwise, it was clean and serviced well. The Concierge was a big help in answering any questions we had. Also the woman working in the gift shop was a... Read more

We chose this hotel based on previous good experience with other Holiday Inns but it didn??t live up to our expectations. The bathroom was too small for two people to share. The room was too small for the size of the bed, meaning we had to keep moving our luggage to get around the bed. The room had a fridge but no USB port. The front desk was eventually able to find one for us to borrow. The toiletries supplied are good but they were not replenished each day. The fly screen on our window ... Read more

We stayed for 5 nights and had a lovely stay. Very accommodating staff. I had accidentally booked a room with two double beds instead of one king bed, the lovely gentleman who checked me in changed my room with no fuss and gave me an upgrade which was much appreciated. The rooms are small but for the superb location I suspect you won't get better for the price. The chicken wings at the bar are great!!

Big enough for our needs. Right next door to the world famous Maple Leaf Gardens hockey venue, now a very good supermarket. Really good relaxing bar that opens at 5pm, staff in the bar very helpful, with a special mention to Rahel, nothing too much trouble for her. All staff were polite. if I ever come back to Tor... Or room was nice, the people were friendly. the were shops, a nice restaurant, and even a Starbucks!! Staying in downtown I thought we would get some views of the city below, or the skyline. We got a room with a view of the apartment building across from the hotel, and that was so not appealing. I know they can't avoid that, but we were told we had a room with a nice view of the city. Luckily we were just there for one night visiting the sites around town.

Check in was smooth, our room was on the 5th floor overlooking a very busy Carlton Street which was nice but a noisy at night with the trams and traffic, so if you are a light sleeper, don??t get a room at the front of the hotel. The rooms (at least the one with 2 beds) were a little tight for space, but nice and clean! Not a great view of the city but that didn't bother us; the location was great, a starbucks right beside the building, or a tim hortons and mcdonalds a short walk down the street for cheaper coffee. The holiday provides just what you need for a stop over in Toronto. Comfy bed, clean quiet room, nice bar area. But it was the staff who really make this hotel. Not only were they happy to oblige us with an early check in when we arrived but when I injured myself falling down the subway stairs they could not have been more helpful, and even let us borrow their wheelchair for the duration of the holiday. The rooms are very small - as in, one person in the bathroom at a time and barely enough space to move around your bed. However, the rooms were very clean with updated amenities. The location is excellent - across the street from Cora's (breakfast), just a few blocks from the Eaton Center, close to the subway, and walking distance to many of the downtown sites. Parking is a bit pricey for a hotel, but I'd stay here again and recommend it to others.

Friendly staff at check in. Our room was a small King room with a tiny window in the corner with view of a brick wall. Almost no sunlight and so that made it feel like we were in a basement. However it was clean and cool and the location is super convenient to the gay village and downtown shopping, so if you can overlook the size of the room and view, I'd say it's a pretty decent value.

Stayed in April 2016, business trip solo travel, in Standard room type. ROOM Small but decent size (about 28 sq m I guess). Good size bathroom with big size shower. No bathtub for this type of room. But I have to admit, it has all what we need, plush bedding and pillows, coffee maker with filtered coffee (as a coffee drinker I am extremely delighted with this), and all other amenities. It does give the cozy feelings. I do like this hotel frankly. LOCATION This is the main selling point for thi... Read more

This was my first time staying at the Holiday Inn, Downtown Toronto Centre and will be the last. This is not to be confused with the other Holiday Inn hotels in the Toronto region of which I have stayed at them all and received good to excellent service. We picked this hotel because it was downtown Toronto and had a reasonable price compared to other hotels in the area. It is close to a subway entrance and within walking distance of the Eaton's Centre. The rooms are clean but compact. There is a fridge in the room which is nice. Staff are friendly. The biggest complaint is the poor WiFi. We continuously lost our connection and had to log in again. Their tech support people couldn't resolve the problem. Overall, it is a good value for the... We have stayed here now for the last few years during the Pride celebrations. It's well located, and close to the subway and Yonge Street. The hotel itself is well maintained for the most part, and if issues arise then I tend to find they are guest caused rather than an underlying problem with the hotel. The rooms are fully air conditioned and the beds are very comfortable. We have eaten at the restaurant in the hotel and been very happy with the service and food each time. There is also a Sta... Location wise great!. Close to shopping, a large supermarket and Yonge Street. The tram operates in front of the hotel. Internally the lobby area is fine but with a Starbucks straddling both entrance areas, the hotel presumably feels that there is no need for a café bar. The bar only opens at 5.30. The rooms and corridors were looking shabby with torn and frayed carpets and wallcoverings, whilst the rooms were very small and needed an overhaul. This isn't normally my first choice for hotel in the area but the hotel I normally stay at was full. The staff were great at this hotel but there are more cons for me than pros. The room I was in was fine but had a window so tiny looking out between between a narrow opening between two buildings it was almost claustrophobic. The worst of the five hotels we stayed at when we were in Canada. The WiFi was absolutely non-existent, flipping on and off so often that it might as well have not been offered.
