My husband, son, and I stayed here for a spring break trip. As others have said, they hotel is clean, and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, however, the facility itself is in need of a remodel. Although our hotel room was clean the bathroom felt dirty, because the grout was discolored. I do not think it was moldy. It is just old, and it seems that you can't get it quite clean. Also, as others have mentioned, there is an odd smell in the hallways. Thankfully, our room did not sme... Read more

I had a one night stay here- a first visit. The reception staff were very friendly, my room was large, clean and recently renovated. I didn't hear a sound at night and I had easy access to the TTC. I was able to meet a client in the lobby and that space was comfortable. The breakfast was the usual but there were lots of options. I would definitely come back.

Check in was quick. Room was a bit dated. Pulled back the bedding to find a dirty tissue on the bed under the covers which leads me to believe that the bedding had not been changed since the previous guest.

The hotel looks very old and the furnishings are definitely dated. But, everything was clean and the service was very good. The front desk staff was very friendly and warm. The room was large and clean, just old. The breakfast was exactly what you'd expect from this level of hotel - cold cereal, some fruit, pancakes, pastries, eggs, etc. For a night or two, this hotel is just fine.

Not impressed. The room was large but the bathroom was outdated. The tub had lots of scratches and a hair in it, and the wallpaper in the bathroom near the toilet was stained yellow. Eww. And my husband found a cover to a flash drive in the blanket on the bed. It made us wonder if they clean the blankets. The breakfast was good, the lobby was nice, but it was expensive and not worth the price.

Stay here when we are in Toronto visiting. The hotel is clean, the staff are wonderful. We had a room on the 3rd floor, which was great. Our room was clean, and ready for us at check in. The breakfast is great, and the staff make sure everything is full and fresh. Lots of seating around the breakfast area. There is plenty of parking and not far from the Scarborough Town Centre, and the TTC.

The overall quality of the stay is excellent. No extra charge of Parking and WIFI, free hot breakfast. Most importantly, the guest service is impressing. I stay in the hotel for three days when I visit Toronto. Front desk staff are really warm and friendly, and even housekeeping staff always smile and say hi. The staff recommend some nice restaurants and attactions to me which give me a wonderful experience in Toronto. Room is clean and large, and bed is confortable. Personally I enjoy the 24 ho... We stayed at this Holiday Inn Express the weekend of June 3 for a funeral. We rented 2 rooms that were located across the hall from each other on the main floor. The hotel is quiet and comfortable with a great front desk staff. The rooms were a very good size for 3-4 people. They were also pleasantly decorated including the accent brick wall. The bathroom is a bit outdated, but very functional. The hotel is very well located close to the 401 at Markham road. There is a good sized breakfast are... Read more

I had to come to Toronto for some training back in October 2015 and the company booked me in here. Rooms are spacious and clean, and the bed is very comfortable. The room I had only had a shower but I would have preferred a tub but not a huge deal. They did offer breakfast which I did not partake of. It was within walking distance to a Tim Horton's which was great. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

We booked in at this hotel as its close to Scarborough General Hospital as a family member was going to be in there overnight (they came in 2hr drive east of TO). The room, staff and free buffet breakfast were wonderful for this price point. We had not stayed at a HI Express before but definitely will look into them when travelling now. Impressed!

My wife and I just returned from a 4 night stay at the Holiday Inn Express Toronto East. We were slightly apprehensive at first based on some of the reviews that we had read; Iâ??m glad we moved forward. To be honest, managing expectations is the key. We actually had an excellent stay. First, the location is unbeatable if youâ??re staying in Toronto and donâ??t necessarily wish to be downtown. The hotel is right off the 401 Expressway which you WILL need to get where youâ??re going. Youâ??... Read more

Room was somewhat of a disaster, got in late, checked out early to get on the road. Was mortified at the lack of cleanliness of the room. At least the sheets and towels were clean. With limited options I might consider a revisit, but I would pay more to avoid staying again. Management did respond to my issues promptly and assured me they have been taken care of. I value their ability to act quickly, it just saddens me that Someone cleaning the room would give the go ahead to let someone stay in... Read more

I would say this hotel is average. I don't have major complaints and I don't have any "stand out" excitement either. The rooms are pretty good size for the price. The breakfast has warm items (including eggs and sausage) along with the typical fare. It was pretty clean. No fridge in my room, but I didn't ask either. Overall a pretty uneventful stay.

4 of us stayed in one room with 2 queen beds..amply room, clean and on bottom level of the building. It offered breakfast; usual pancakes, toast, cereal, coffee, eggs, bacon/sausage etc. it was enough to have a decent breakfast. Not too far from Toronto center as we went to the Molson Amphitheatre for a concert. Convenient and fairly priced for having booked on a very busy weekend.

When dealing with the loss of a family member you dont want to have to worry about the quality of your room. Fortunately for my family and I that was not an issue when we stay at the Holiday Inn this past April. Clean room, comfortable beds and strong WiFi allowed us to do what we needed. The location put us near everything we needed for that grieving weekend.

Stayed 1 night and wouldn't mind staying longer. Was met by Leah with a beautiful smile and professional courtesy. Room was ready before the expected time and the cleaning lady came by to make sure the room had been well prepared. The hotel isn't new (reason for the lost star) but if you want new and so close to activities then pay more. For us the price and services we got was perfect. Breakfast was complete and filled the spot for the trip to our next destination.

We booked our rooms through the central reservation system and were told that because we wanted 2 queens in one of the rooms, we had to pay a higher fee than the room with a king, and we agreed to that. At the end of the reservation, although I had mentioned to the operator on repeated occasions that I was making the reservation from a very noisy place and that I was not interested in any promotions, but that I needed my reservation code, I was still transferred to a marking agency offering me a... Nine rooms for part of a lacrosse team. It's clean, the AC worked on a very hot weekend, the beds were firm and the check in-out was fast and accurate. Breakfast was the usual for an HIE, it's very convenient to the 401 and Scarborough Town Centre. There is no fridge in the room but I think that's standard for this chain. Price wasn't bad I don't think at $150/night.

This somewhat older HIE is just off the 401. It is a short drive to downtown Toronto when the traffic is light. Upon check in we were acknowledged as platinum IHG, and given a large two queen room on the main level. The room was pretty standard mid range hotel style. Quite clean, with firm beds and an interesting brick wall in the room. There is ample parking available and right next door is a Keg steakhouse. Recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express while travelling for business. Hotel was clean and welcoming. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Continental breakfast was included in nightly rate and was nicely presented with lots of food. Hotel was very busy but hallways were quiet. only time i heard people was in the lobby next to where the breakfast was served. Would definitely recommend for anyone travelling to the east end of Toronto (Scarborough).

Great experience and all of the hotel staff were both attentive and excellent to work with. Our group of eight used four rooms which were beautifully taken care of each day while we were out. We enjoyed the full breakfast every morning, and even though crowded with customers the area was well maintained. A very good experience in every way.
