This Holiday Inn is so new, you might get a room that nobody has as yet slept in. (May 2016) We enjoyed our stay, the newly renovated hotel offer spacious rooms, nice en-suite bathrooms, and was 100% clean. Service was helpful but could offer a little more precise recommendations for restaurants in the vicinity. The uncertainty could have been due to the fact that most people seemed to be new. One minor drawback: Windows can not be opened to air the rooms. For someone like me that likes to sl... Read more

Amazing room! Very spacious and staff was extremely helpful. We got there May 16th and left the next day.. We wished we booked for two nights!! Nicest hotel room I've ever been in. We had the king suite... Look at the pictures! The room had so many windows!

The hotel is so new, that certain parts are still under construction. The indoor garage is extremely dusty, but I imagine that it will be cleaned up once the construction is done. The staff were absolutely amazing, and the room was very comfortable. Nice to stay at a new facility!

Very nice hotel. Still have the new hotel feel and look. I love that they use hardwood instead of carpet. The TV is a new LG slim panel, slim bezel TV. It is in the middle of downtown and they have a parking garage as well as a parking lot in the back. They do charge $10 for parking and as others have said, you can park in the street for free. The entrance on Simcoe St N is actually the back entrance, you'll have to circle around for the main entrance and parking lot.

My husband & I stayed in the corner executive suite on the 5th floor. (room 518) I should 1st tell you that although there is a door to the hotel on Simcoe street, this is not the main entrance. You need a room key to access this entrance. You will need to go around the building to Ontario street, this is where the main parking lot is and the main entrance. We were greeted at the front desk by a very cheerful and helpful young man named Chris. He got us checked in, told us everything abou... Read more

This is a beautiful new hotel within walking distance of General Motors Centre and many restaurants. Every member of the staff we dealt with was friendly and helpful. Nancy at reception set the tone with her friendly manner. Made us feel so welcome. As the previous reviewer stated the Breakfast Bar is very well done. Shout out to Kelly who made sure everything was well stocked and even brought freshly sliced oranges around to the tables. We were there for a convention and when they realized w... Read more

We had a quick stop over on our way home to Michigan, so had a late check in and left very early. The hotel is very clean and the rooms exceptional. After a long day of driving, it was so nice to have a comfortable bed to sleep in. A very generous complimentary breakfast that included cheese omelet, scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes, celerals, muffins and fruits. Was not made aware of the $10 parking fee, but the garage was nice to park in and very well lit.

Brand new hotel with nice large rooms. All staff were amazingly friendly. Went above and beyond. We were especially impressed by breakfast area staff. They worked very hard to make sure everyone had what they needed and offered to cut oranges for people so they didn't have to cut them themselves. She even came in the evening, on her own time , with her children to deliver some fresh fruit for the next morning. Nice pool area and some cardio equipment. Will definitely stay here again when we co... Read more

I booked online via the IHG main website this past Monday and received a confirmation # for this Friday (was traveling to Oshawa with my two sons for the WWE event). I had previously booked at the Travelodge but kept checking the Holiday Inn as it is adjacent to the event center. After I received my confirmation from the Holiday Inn I canceled my Travelodge reservation. Thursday evening I received a phone call from the Hotel manager Mr. Evans. Apparently the website had overbooked the hotel ... Read more

The property itself is really nice and modern. It has a great little pool and fitness area as well as food and business facilities in lobby. Free coffee and tea in lobby was a nice touch on arrival. The room was comfortable, modern and clean. We enjoyed all of the facilities and most of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. My only complaint was the cleaning staff which I was quite surprised by since we have read so many positive reviews. My partner had worked an overnight the night b... Read more

Best hotel if you have to say in Oshawa. With secure parking! Newly opened Holiday Inn. Check in was prompt. Room new and clean. They have a way to go with the room amenities. Lost a button and not a needle or thread in the hotel. The morning was absolutely insane. There were 20-30 children in the breakfast area. Approx 10 minute wait, I've never seen that, EVER. Then the selection was poor and empty! I believe this is quickly becoming a children's "tournament" hotel with the moms and d... Read more

First of all, I had asked for the Commercial Dr location when booking this stay, because it is surrounded by shopping, restaurants and closer to the event we're attending. Somehow, the reservation clerk switched us to this downtown location instead. I never noticed the change until we arrived at the other hotel and told. We then reloaded our luggage and drove to this other location, which is conveniently located in the hood, for lack of a better description. Since I'm not into drugs or peopl... Read more

So I was travelling on a budget for my bachelor weekend and we were looking for a hotel to stay outside of Toronto. I called the hotel and the first thing I was told was call back in 10 mins we are busy. Not a good first impression. The correct thing to do would be to take my number and call me back. So I call back and the girl asks when Im interested in booking for and what room type. She told me the price was $139 I asked if anything could be done about the price which she replies no, that its... Read more

Wish I had booked this hotel from the beginning of our trip! New, clean, beautifully decorated and well maintained. All staff we encountered at the hotel were incredible and made our stay so enjoyable! Breakfast was a great selection of items that were constantly replenished and the area kept clean. Rooms were fresh, clean, quite and comfortable. Kids loved the pool. It is in a central and most importantly safe location. We look forward to returning for another stay.

Hotel lobby, hallways and bedroom are clean. Bathroom is clean as well. Pool water is milky and no towels to be found around pool area, which are stored on rusty steel rack. In-room AC unit is noisy as hotel units usually are. Staff very helpful.

No internet Kids occupied three adjacent rooms. Noisy and running halls until 2.30am Had asked about kids at check-in. Were assured there were none close! Incredible acidic smell down in garage. Symptomatic of shoddy construction glues Lots of leaks coming from building walls. Again shoddy workmanship

Terrible service in this hotel. Refuse to budge on early Check in. Waiting in the lobby for over an hour and they won't even check to see if room is ready 40 mins early. Very petty. Stay away and get better service for same money. I have stayed in many Holiday Inns without problems but this will be my last time.

This hotel is in a great location to walk around the city There are so many restaurants in a 3 block radius, it is had to choose. The hotel itself is a bit hard to find as the street address is for the front of the building while the check-in and parking are on the backside. Everything was very clean and typical for a chain hotel. A nice place to stay.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn for 2 days. The hotel is very new and rooms are quite large. Breakfast was included. Staff was nice. There was about an $8/day fee for parking. Location is not great. Would recommend Whitby if you are choosing locations. Felt a bit seedy in the evening. No good restaurants nearby.

We stayed at the Oshawa Holiday Inn from July 1st, checking out on the 4th. Check-in and check-out were quick and flawless. Our trip was connected to the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) part of which was located just down the street from us; meaning that the location was optimal for our needs. It's also located close to other businesses, shops and restaurants in Oshawa's older downtown district. Malls were about a 5-10 minute car ride away. Our room was clean and well-furn... Read more

Stayed here as a convenience because we did not want a long drive home after a nearby event. Hotel suited that purpose just fine although I expected better pricing for Oshawa. Same comments as below about difficulty seeing the signage from Simcoe street not helped by the fact that the drive up/entrance is hidden away around the corner. The hotel is new'ish so still nice and clean and the breakfast was totally adequate. My only beef - and I mentioned this in my last review so perhaps it is jus... Read more

Ok so I have been loyal to IHG for a very long time, and I need to say that this is a nice hotel since its new, the furniture in the rooms is very very cheap ( not like most other HIE places I have stayed. But the biggest surprise to me was the staff's total disregard to the wifi in the hotel, when I called the front desk asking why the Wifi wasn't working ideas told it is and when I pushed the issue I was told that the modems were not working correctly??? I wonder if my CC worked correctly t... Read more

I would like share my great experience with the staff of the Holiday inn express and suites in Oshawa, especially the manager Larry. After checking out the hotel and realizing there was an issue with our credit card we immediately called the hotel to reaolve the issue. Larry, who was just about to walk out the door, spent over 30 mins fixing our issue with matercard even though themistake was not the hotel's fault. While on an overnight trip to catch a Blue Jays game, we opted out of the expensive Toronto hotels in favour of the Oshawa Holiday inn Express & Suites, in Oshawa. Very nice, new hotel, a short ride from the GO Train, which also meant avoiding Toronto's crazy 401 traffic. The room was very nicely appointed, with a king bed, comfortable pillows and mattress, spacious shower, flat screen tv, and free breakfast. Quiet, which meant good sleeping. Enjoyed our stay here. The two men that served us at the front desk were super nice and friendly. The breakfast bar and lounge area was very clean and nicely updated. Underground parking ($8)bright and clean with elevators directly up to your floor. Never felt unsafe. Rooms also updated, really nice and spacious. Excellent price for what they had to offer, $123 night booked online. Definitely don't pass this one up when looking, you won't be disappointed!

The hotel is located at downtown Oshawa, close to high way 401. Room is big and quiet. We are very satisfied for the 3-night stay. A few small problems: 1) The room has just one chair and it has enough space to put in an additional sofa chair. And as a matter of fact, most other holiday inn express & suites hotels do. 2) The internet inside room was quite spotty, especially at night. There was no problem in the big great room (i.e. breakfast area) on the first floor.
