First visit to Toronto, so wanted a good, medium priced hotel close to most attractions and the convention centre. Hilton Garden Inn provided the location, comfortable room and best of all, WiFi that WORKED!! Convention centre was an easy 20 minute walk away, the bus sightseeing tour stopped just around the corner and the staff were without exception friendly and helpful. The bathroom was a bit small, but worked, and although the vinyl floor covering in the bedroom was a surprise it was ok. At l... Read more

The location is excellent, though we found it a bit hard to find and access at first. After that, we were ushered into a hotel that I found surprisingly small, at least as regards its footprint. The staff, at first, were certainly efficient and effective (they shone even more later, but I will get to that). We got to the room and there was not much to distinguish the room itself; it was clean and fine. We had a lovely view of the CN Tower. I went downstairs at one point to find a small ba... Read more

I will admit I am biased. I have stayed at the Doubletree by Hilton in downtown Toronto many times. Unfortunately this month the Doubletree was not on the government list so I had to test my flexibility and look further afield. Hence the Hilton Garden Inn...While the car valets and the room service individual were above average in their courtesy, the alley view and average front desk service mitigated impressions. The alley window view was not the greatest but there is only so much you can ... Read more

Stayed for a night for work related visit at Toronto. The hotel was very clean, check in was very quick and easy. Breakfast is not included though. The hotel is centrally located, close to Toronto Convention Center, CN Tower and also walking distance to City Hall or Eaton Center. I even walked from the hotel to Billy Bishop airport. And it offers free wi-fi.

I stayed at this hotel with a friend while attending a conference at the MTCC. It was about a 10 minute walk to the MTCC, which was perfect for us. Not too busy around the hotel, but walking distance to all you want to see in Toronto! Hotel staff were extremely nice and helpful. I was able to request a higher room, and there's also an option to select the took yourself with their online booking system! Room was beautiful - everything we needed. Very clean and comfortable. Getting to this hotel from Pearson Airport was pretty quick, cheap, and easy, actually. We all only had a carry-on, so we took the UP train to Union Station and walked it about seven or eight blocks to the hotel. Upon arrival, it wasn't a looker, mainly because of construction - but I'll let that slide. It's in a great part of town, right next to John Street, which has tons of bars and restaurants. My cousin is a HUGE Blue Jays fan (He's from New Jersey... I don't get it either) - and he wan... Read more

Stayed here for a conference in town. Nice, central location. Lot of construction going on around the hotel, but that didn't bother me. The only downside was that I was not able to get on the wifi, due to an issue with the name on the reservation. The front desk where unable to help, so gave up after two tries. Only had breakfast once, as there are better options nearby.

Nice and clean hotel. Bed wasn't as comfortable as I would've liked but still not bad. Located right downtown close to many attractions. It's in the middle of several bars so the streets can be quite noisy and packed with young people heading to and from bars after midnight on a weekend. I didn't notice any street noise or loud music though in my room. Staff are quite friendly.

This hotel should get 5 stars if attention is given to a few small things. We arrived 6:30 pm on a Friday night after we were able to book in via wifi. Marek at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. He explained everything and hearing that this was our first time in the city, gave us a map, plot the hotel, show the attractions on it and also gave us tips on how to get to the island by ferry. The rooms are like other Hilton Garden Inns so they are decent. The hotel itself isn't in a bad spot, within a couple of blocks from Spadina and you can see the Roger's Centre to the south. The lobby is very basic with no signs directing you to the onsite restaurant. $17 for breakfast if you want it. This is a newer hotel and the rooms are very nice and clean. Good size and included fridge and microwave. The pool area was not so clean and relatively small. We didn't do the in house restaurant but lots of great options were close by and we could walk too many major attractions. The room rate was a little high, as one would expect in a downtown hotel. One thing which I think may be typical of Toronto hotels is the parking. Simple breakfast with a chef in the kitchen. Ask in advance for a room with the view of the CN tower. Choosing it on Hilton's website proved to be difficult. Even if you pick a room that is directionally correct, windows in most of the rooms are deeply recessed from the outer wall. So view to the tower is blocked.

Lovely hotel, conveniently located, very friendly staff, really comfortable bed. All at a very reasonable price. Couldn't ask for more. Staff also very helpful in recommending nearby places to eat that were excellent.

My wife and I stayed for three nights. Had a very enjoyable stay. The staff was good, the rooms were clean and very comfortable. We had a shower spa room, no extra charge, that was nice. Best part of hotel was location, location, location. We enjoy walking and almost everything that we wanted to see was within a mile or so. Hotel is a block from the entertainment district, which has numerous places to eat. Have fun

I was able to check in online before arriving at the hotel, love that feature! You have the option of taking the room the hotel chose or you can go to the map and chose another. Upon arrival it was raining and they had no umbrellas to buy as they were sold out. Keep this in mind as you should bring your own umbrella. The room was huge, had a king size bed with a lever on the side so you can select how firm you want the mattress. Neutrogena Products and a shower (no bathtub). Loved the show... Read more

The location is downtown Toronto so it is expensive but the staff are really thoughtful and considerate. I was eating in the restaurant trying to balance my laptop and dinner and the waiter changed my table so i would be more comfortable. the room was standard Hilton (I like them) and it was quite. No complaints

Check in with Angela was the best I've ever experienced in a hotel. She really seemed interested in what we wanted from our visit, and was also really knowledgeable about the local area, giving us lots of options to explore for the weekend. Pool is small, gym also small but serviceable for a hotel fitness room. Breakfast was good, lots of variety on the breads and pastries side, with hot breakfast cooked to order ($16.95 for the whole lot, $9.95 for continental). Only issue, although it's a big... Read more

We found the location to be very convenient to all the places we needed to get to. We also liked the proximity to great restaurants and coffee shops. The only drawback was the load music coming from the alley on Sunday night into the wee hours. The breakfast was average on all the buffet items the custom order items were very good.

What a joke this hotel is. From the minute we walked into this hotel I felt like the staff did not want us there. From a room mix up, to the Manager giving myself a personal grammar lesson on the difference between "Conjoining" and "Adjoining" rooms it was horrible. They also accused my friend of saying things to the front desk that were not true AND they charged me for parking when I did not even park at the hotel. Then made my other friend sit through an interview to prove that we only have on... Read more

Great location, super friendly and accommodating staff. The room was clean, and bright... and there was a great breakfast buffet! The pool was on the small side, and quite shallow, but that worked out great for our young kiddos. I'd definitely stay here again!

The first night our room was on floor 4 directly above a nightclub. Horrific noise for several hours. No earplugs in the world could block it. They were able to move us to a quieter room for the next two nights. Be sure to ask for a room away from this problem.

Great hotel, great bed, great air conditioning, great service. Lots of young hockey player made a bit of noise...but for the rest it was perfect. I love the Hilton Hotels, I've never had a bad experience in any of them.

Read this review before you book! We were in Room 511 which is right above a nightclub THAT PLAYS THE LOUDEST MUSIC EVER ALL NIGHT LONG! The DJ moved the party outdoors to an alley beside the hotel (noise is OUTSIDE, right next to the hotel building) not inside. Manager claims the city gave them permission to do this! Drums beat constantly, singers screamed, partygoers laughed and yelled‚??incessantly‚??for 11 hours, starting at 4pm and going until 2am! Unbelievable! The manager brought us ea... Read more

As a Hilton gold member, I've stayed at many different Hilton products and several Garden Inns across Canada and the US, including the Hilton in Toronto and I have to say that I was not impressed with this one. I chose this hotel because of my affiliation and was disappointed with the service. It took 1/2 hour to check me in (had to find out if the room was ready and then when it was, couldn't figure out how to release the room) and they insisted that the room I had e-checked into was the room t... My husband and I stayed here when we were in town for a Lumineers concert. We selected this hotel because they have a great government rate and because of it's location. The hotel is clean and modern and the rooms are spacious and well appointed. The hotel has an indoor pool and hot tub which was great. Unfortunately, we were in town on the Thursday night right before Carabana was beginning and the night club next door, which i did not think was open on Thursday's, was having a pre Carabana p... The staff are very friendly and helpful at this hotel. It is a nice hotel and was clean. It is not much more than any similar hotel I have stayed in but the staff were particularly friendly and courteous. The amenities at the hotel were nice even if slightly typical. Although we didn't eat much here the food was very good. My family all enjoyed the stay. I would stay here again.

Small room but acceptable. Staff were accommodating. The parking however was disgustingly expensive at $47 per night. Just down the street was a small lot with a $20 maximum. Not the best choice but location was best for us as it was 6 minute walk to our destination.

I loved the fact that my room had been recently remodeled and had wood floors. The breakfast buffet offered cooked to order eggs, pancakes, potatoes and meat - along with the fresh fruit and bread options on the buffet itself. The staff was friendly and helpful.

If you plan to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn on a weekend, be wary of the nightclub operating directly below the SE corner of the building. The front desk will gladly provide you with earplugs, but the noise will otherwise fill your room in that corner of the building throughout the night and into the wee hours of the morning. However, express your displeasure to Hilton and its commitment to customer satisfaction may see Hilton reimbursing your entire night's room cost. Excellent. Other than... Read more

We got a room on a high floor, 16th. The room was comfortable, a single king, and had good views of the city. The hotel is nicely located in the downtown area and indeed within walking distance to many attractions including the Royal Ontario Museum. It's also close to the TTC subway stop, and we got to the hotel (from Pearson) in less than an hour on the Union Pearson Express (to Union Station) and then a transfer to the 1 line. Our only complaint was that it was a busy weekend, the hotel wa... Read more

First time in Toronto, and not my last. The HGI-Downtown Toronto was in the perfect location. Minutes away from shopping, bars/clubs, even a grocery store down the street. It really is in the heart of this beautiful city. The downside was parking ($47!, and I thought it was bad in my hometown of Chicago!), but being that we rarely used the car, it was handy to just keep it at the hotel. The staff was amazing. First time stay at the Hilton Garden Inn from October 6-9th. I was extremely impressed with this hotel for the rate we paid. This was a great location close to all main transport, fine dining and great shopping. The staff were exceptional! Hotel was very clean, and modern. The rooms were spacious, up to date and had hardwood floors (big bonus!). I would definitely recommend this hotel when staying in the downtown area. I will definitely be coming back!!

Stayed here for a work event in Toronto. The location is excellent, you're very close to a lot of major attractions like Rogers Centre, Air Canada Centre, CN Tower and union station is about a 10 minute walk. The hotel is nice enough. Looks good and very clean. Staff was helpful anytime I needed anything. We had a private room for breakfast. The food was great but basic. The price is also great for Toronto so I'd recommend looking here if you need to stay downtown.

They were only concerned about enforcing their overly strict rules to keep the hotel completely silent on a Saturday night, downtown before 10:00p.m. They did not allow any of my friends to walk me up to my hotel room (not even 1) at 3am and I was forced to walk into an elevator with 5 strangers (all male) by myself. The security made me feel like i was in more danger than actually feeling protected. There were more than 3 security guards in the lobby, all of which were useless. I dropped over 3... Read more

The room although not luxurious has everything you would need. The Jacuzzi was quite large; the only thing I didn't like was the bare flooring throughout. The room needs area rugs or something to cozy up such a big space. I didn't try the tv or coffee maker so cannot comment.
