Very big hotel. Stayed on the 14th floor which was quiet and had a decent view of the city. Neat room and has all the essentials. Reception staff were ok. Liked the fact that it had exits to nearly all the surrounding streets from the big reception area. Given the size and activity, never really had to wait long for lifts. Breakfast was always very good - reasonably broad menu. Walking distance to Dundas Square and the large Eaton Centre which should have Nordstrom in a few months.

We really enjoyed our three night stay at the Chelsea. The location was very central (walk north for nicer/safer neighborhood, south is a little rough). We upgraded to a studio kitchenette, which was fully stocked with plates, bowls, cups, cutlery, dish towels, dish rack and dish soap. The microwave and fridge were a lifesaver since we were traveling with a toddler. The kids play room was AMAZING for evenings when we were tired from sight-seeing. Trucks, trains, an art station, ride-on toys, a s... Read more

I have stayed at this hotel many times and will do so again in the future. The rooms are clean and bright and the staff very service orientated, It is right in the heart of everything. You can walk to just about all of the main attractions of downtown Toronto, or you can take a short subway ride.

Pleasant neighbourhood, comfortable room. Would recommend Elm St for a variety of independent restaurants. However no mini bar and no room service after 12:30 which was a pain when we arrived very late after a flight delay of 4 hours. Walls are thin which could be a problem for a light sleeper.

Stayed there for 3 nights with a friend. Massive hotel, rooms are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast buffett a bit on the expensive side, but it had everything you need and more. It also has a small café that you can order coffee and breakfast from if you don't want the buffet. The best thing about it is the location, right in the heart of the city, 5min walk from Dundas Square and the subway. Great bars and restaurants in Elm Street too. I cannot comment on the pool/spa and gym facilities... Read more

The room was aged and in need of updating. The furniture is old as well as the carpet. It' all been there too long. A mini-bar or refrigerator would have been handy and the balcony looks out onto a construction site. I checked in late. There was no option to even get a cold sandwich after 11pm. I moved to another hotel a few blocks away and for roughly the same price I was much happier.

I have stayed many times and the hotel continue to make improvements to the property and to their service. I believe they will be a leading location soon. The food is good and there is a real attention to detail. This is a clean place, elevators a bit slow. Staff is very friendly, Location is great, room are mediocre, no bar fridge, only one chair so if you have guests some have to sit on the bed :-(. I would stay there again because it's clean and staff is friendly and location is good, but I would not be afraid to look around for somewhere cheaper it's not like it's a memorable place.

Delta has been significantly revamped in the last few years. Attended conference and found rooms were well organized, food was outstanding and staff were very helpful. I love the convenient access to shopping and sites and would probably stay here for personal travel as well as business. Standard rooms are adequate but not spacious.

We make this trip once a year, sometimes twice to take our son to Sick Kids. They were excellent, we arrived early, like 12 and our room was available for an early check in. Very nice when we had to be at the hospital for 1 to be able to get in and change before we left. The room was nice and clean, our view was nice. We chose this hotel for 3 reasons: 1. Location 2. It accommodated our family with our 3 sons in one room, which was uncommon in the city of Toronto. 3. It appeared to have an outstanding pool area, with a water slide, which appealed greatly to our boys. Unfortunately, the pool is closed on weekdays, and we were there from Tuesday to Friday. This was not made clear to us on the website, or during the reservation process, and it was a huge disappointment to our boys. On the positive side, th... Read more

After nearly three weeks on the road with three kids under the age of four, the Chelsea Hotel in downtown Toronto was a haven! The rooms were small, but the beds were insanely comfortable! The staff was exceptional, and the facilities great. The biggest thing I want to touch on was the KIDS ZONE! A massive room full of toys, games, crafts and pet bunnies! It was so wonderful to have a place for us to take our littles to have fun! Highly recommend.

This is a lovely old fashioned hotel and in a great location, meaning I could walk to many of the places I wanted to see in Toronto including the Art gallery of Ontario. The staff were pleasant and the facilities were fine - I particularly liked the swimming pool - very nice at the end of the day. The restaurants were fine, although it was very expensive to take food up to your room.

for the price, location, service and amenities, you can't beat the Delta Chelsea for a family friendly hotel. Loved the pool and family centre (like a full early years centre!). I was there on business but brought my family and we had a great time. The bathroom was a bit dated but that didn't matter to us and it was clean overall. Our room was a bit small but we still fit a playpen between the beds and it suited our needs.

This is a very large hotel right in downtown Toronto. There are a number of towers some are nicer and newer then others, so I hear. Large underground parking lot. Friendly staff, lots of places to eat in drink in the hotel but a little pricey. Better to go across the street. Room was remodelled, clean, had a balcony. Pet friendly hotel so I heard a few dogs barking but didn't bother me. The price was also fair. Would stay again.

Stayed at the Chelsea Hotel for Pride Weekend in Toronto! It was a very busy weekend, but the hotel was fantastic! There were cool things in the lobby (free lemonade and popcorn, cute responsive robot). The 27th floor pool, deck and fitness center was amazing, clean and accessible. Hotel needs major renos in rooms and hallways. Food trays hadn't been picked up for the entire weekend and left in the hallway for all to see. The Chelsea Hotel is huge, maybe 1500 rooms. I enjoyed my stay here. We were quickly checked in here with a free upgrade to a room with a bath. We were directed to the 'red' lifts which quickly took us to our room. The room was pleasant with comfy beds and a clean modernish bathroom. The location is good with plenty around to do at night. We also had breakfast which was overpriced at about $24 for the cooked buffet but it was very very good with lots of choice. I would stay again.

We were close - by walking or taxi - to the CN Tower, University of Toronto, Dundas Square, Kensignton Market and more. Great restaurants were walking distance. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The lobby bustling with people attending conferences. The staff could have been a bit more qualified but they were all nice. I would definitely c... Read more

we stayed here at what a clean lovely hotel, And what a view its right down town and lots going on plenty of night life and bars with every type of food, also a market at night, It reminded me so much of England, But a word of warning don't get caught speeding here, it will cost you an arm and a leg, And expect plenty horns beeping at you they don't have much Patience on the roads around the city.

I needed to stay in Toronto for a few nights and booked this hotel. Pros: Prime location for activities downtown Toronto. I needed to be near the University for meetings and this was a very convenient location. It was a short walk to Spadina and very near the Eaton Centre/Young & Dundas. The room was a decent size, tidy, and furnished with modern items. The staff at the check-in counter were friendly and efficient and even though it was busy in the lobby, it took less than 20 minutes between... Read more

Be prepared to wait to check in - I waited half an hour and there always seems to be a queue. Hotel is very busy and as such a bit impersonal. Lots of lifts! Food choices in hotel are expensive. Kids seemed to like the kids pool and room. Will check out the adult pool and roof terrace tomorrow.

This experience was not pleasant in any way and I do not intend to EVER return to this hotel. It started before I even got there. To begin, I called front desk to ask if we could check in an hour early, the response was a flat out "NO" followed by crickets, who trained these people to answer phones and have a polite and customer service friendly conversation? No explanation, or "apologies for the inconvenience", just a flat out "NO". I've worked for many years in customer service and you do not... Read more

Arrived after 8.00pm and were surprised to have a 20 minute queue to check in. This is a very large and extremely busy hotel. During our 3 night stay we noticed that there was always a queue to check in/out The elevators are quite insufficient for the sheer volume of traffic. During our stay we had to use the staff lifts more than once as ours were out of order. On arrival we found our safe did not work, several phone calls later a repair guy arrived just before midnight he couldn't fix it and... Read more

toronto hotel prices can be very high in the summer months with many different thing going on in the area. I booked this hotel online, the main reason being the affordable price.. We were very happy with the availability of parking onsite..both valet and self park. It was easy in and easy out of the parking garage..check in was very efficient, considering the line up. It was a quick process and Daniel, our guest service rep was very friendly and accommodating and assigned us a very comfortable... Read more

Large and modern hotel in a great location in Toronto, close to food venues and an easy walk to the Eaton centre and many of Toronto's attractions. Staff were friendly and helpful, arranging luggage hold after checkout and providing advice on local attractions. Only areas for improvementfor improvement would be the WiFi which is weak in some rooms (it is however very strong in the foyer so you can always use it there but if you are on the 22nd floor that is a bit of a commute) and at times the l... The hotel is in the heart of the downtown near to everything, hotel facilities are good for both adults and kids, the room was wide and clean, the hotel stuff really friendly and helpful... You will only get annoyed by the elevators and the queue at the front desk ( check in or out) apart from that everything is perfect

Because it caters to families the check-in can be crowded during March break and long weekends. Staff are friendly and polite- the week we were there they had lemonade and popcorn for kids and people standing in line. The fitness centre is well-equipped although again the pool can be busy during school holidays. The elevators always seemed to be busy with usually one or two out of service at any time. The central cafeteria-style restaurant is a convenient option, and if the small seating area is... Read more

We booked the chelsea at a great rate on hotwire for a weekend of baseball in Toronto. The location of the hotel is good a bit far from the stadium but the subway is nice and close so it made getting to the games very easy. The hotel itself was very clean and during the afternoon they gave out complimentary lemonade and little bags of popcorn which was nice. The line to check in was really long but it moved surprisingly fast. The room was clean and comfortable. Some of the elevators weren't work... Read more

This Christmas trip was topped off by having such a lovely hotel. Having travelled over from the UK upon first sight it seemed somewhat imposing and very business like. The reception area was vast and busy but the staff were friendly, helpful and made you feel at ease. Once we settled in our room and found our bearings we realised what a gem of a hotel this was. Situated just off of Dundas Square / Yonge Street on Gerard Street the location was ideal. Amongst all the huddle and bustle but n... Read more

My husband, our 2 year old and I stayed here for 2 nights last week. I thought the hotel room we had was very clean, but the bathroom was way too small. I was impressed by the playroom, not impressed by the size of the pool. The pool was constantly busy which made it difficult to enjoy with a toddler. 2 of 3 elevators in our group were not working. We waited 20 minutes at one point for the elevators. It was awful. I did feel that the concierge was very kind and helpful when I asked for tickets ... Read more

Not here! I was looking so forward to my stay here at the Chesley. The main entrance is absolutely gorgeous. But when we entered our room, not so much. The first impression of the room was a rancid smell in the room. Still to this day, can't figure out what that smell was, it was a combination of smoke and burnt rubber? The mirror and the sliding door were dirty with smudges on them and last but not least, the bathroom, shower had low pressure, wallpaper pealing off walls and hair on cei... Read more

I visit this hotel regularly (5-6) times a year for the last 15 years (since it used to be the Delta), i stay because the location is perfect for my needs. But i find the rooms a tad dated. They are renovating the rooms, so hopefully things are going to be better. Rooms are pretty clean, but its very busy and if you get a room on a high floor it could take a while before an elevator gets to you. i found lately that some of the elevators are always out of order in each section.

I booked a city break in Toronto from the UK. The break came bundled with the Chelsea Hotel so this was not a hotel selected by me personally. However, my stay has been characterised by plentiful and excellent staff who deliver an efficient and friendly service; hotel and room facilities that work; high standards of cleanliness; loads of hotel amenities like pools, fitness studio and lots of eating options. The location in downtown Toronto couldn't be better. After flight delays and long lines w... Read more

While it is close to public transportation, you can get anywhere of interest in the Toronto downtown area within a 15 minute walk (the pier, distillery district, for example). Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights (July 24-26/2016). I'll start with the underground parking garage. The ramps are VERY steep, & the garage itself is dark & hot. Parking levels can be confusing so I'd suggest you make note of the level & space you have. The lineup for check-in was horrendous. I was charged what I thought to be a ridiculous amount to my credit card. At the time, it was not explained to me that if there weren't any incidentals, the actual amount to be charged would be much lower. ... Read more

We just spent one night at this lovely hotel to be able to attend a Blue Jays game. It was completely booked but they handled the check ins efficiently and quickly at the 3 pm check in time. Our room was clean, and spacious.. Wi fi was free and did not need a password. After the game we had a nice snack at one of their restaurants in the building. Would recommend this hotel for sure. We recently stayed at the Chelsea for one night. I work in the hotel industry; and I have to say that from check in/out with Angelica, the stay, the accommodations, the pool, and the location this was all amazing. The only thing that I didn't like is that they didn't have refrigerators in the room. It wasn't a big deal since we were only there for one night, however, it would be nice to have them in the rooms. The fitness center is located on the top floor and overlooks the city. This is a popular destination for families and travelers so there is much hustle and bustle going on in the lobby.

Positives: Clean hotel, good locations, friendly staff, convenient for restaurants etc, short cab ride to CN Tower, 20 minute walk to shore for ferry to Toronto Island, nice drinks at coffee bar, occassionaly free snacks in lobby (popcorn and lemonade) Negatives: Not much space on floor of suitcases, small window, very busy hotel, pool was freezing and cloudy, noisy aircon that went in cycles so a sudden burst of cool air. Would stay again if price was right.

I reserved a nice room for a good price with their reservation agent only to have the front desk clerk arbitrarily downgrade me to a substandard room. When checking out, they tried to overcharge me and when I threatened to call my credit card company to disavow any charges, they honored my confirmation rate. They did spontaneously comp my parking saving me $200 so that is why they get ungraded to poor from terrible.
