Room was located above the pool and beside an elevator. A bit noisy. Lots of kids who ran the halls. Called the desk and it did stop after awhile. Place needs some renovation. In a pinch it would be ok to stay again.

We stayed here for a few nights and wanted to move in the place is that nice. The beds were first class and I never slept better. Large flat screen TV. Super clean. They have a restaurant and I recall saying to the lady working there, that the restaurant is large enough to have a wedding reception. It had that look about it. The food was great and so was the customer service. Close to the airport and all the major highways. Although I do not live anywhere near Thunder Bay, if I did, I would chec... Read more

Many years ago (about 10) I stayed at the Travelodge in Thunder Bay on several occasions and it was a decent little motel. Not anymore! The rooms are small, but I knew that from previous visits, so no big deal. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were tiny and inadequate (only 3 of them). There were two towels in the room, everything is on the cheap. The room was poorly kept, bathroom floor was dirty and tub is dingy, mold and mildew on tub tiles, shower curtain was GROSS! The room didn't have a fridge which seems to be the norm these days. Also found the cleaning of the rear stairways to be somewhat neglected.

We arrived quite late after a longs days travel and got little to no sleep because the constant noisy guests running up and down the corridors all night. The room had a bad odour and little to no ventilation. Breakfast was mediocre.

Yes, there is a pool. However, I was not informed that we could not use it because it was under repair. We are here for 3 nights and relaxing by the pool and swimming was on our agenda. This was really disappointing. Room was ok. But it was quite small and there was no microwave. Last time we stayed here we had a much bigger room with a table and microwave. There are no easily accessible outlets to plug your computer in at the desk. Do they expect us to move the big tv stand to access the outle... Read more

I'm not saying that I'm a cheapo but I do appreciate value for my hard earned income. Simple and typical accommodations. Clean and some what dated. I will say this; the pleasant desk dude was polite and even called my room to ask me if I was happy with the room. I've been to many places in Canada and internationally and that's been a rare occurrence.

We stayed at the Travelodge for 4 nights. The indoor pool was closed due to walls being painted and sealed. This was very disappointing! The breakfast was very ordinary with no variety from day to day. Location was great and Wi-Fi was super.

My daughter was driving to visit us from Manitoba. She asked me to book her a room in a hotel in Thunder Bay to allow her to rest up overnight. I booked her a room at the Thunder Bay Travelodge through the Wyndham app. Right after booking I called the hotel and told the desk clerk that I would be paying for the room using the credit card saved to my Wyndham account, and also that my daughter would not be arriving until 2100 hours. At no time did the clerk mention that I needed to complete a form... Read more

My family and I stayed at the travelodge for a night when we went to the city for my son's birthday. I booked the room online and requested a room with two double beds. Upon check in. The front desk lady was very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean but very small. There was 5 of us so I requested a cott at 9 pm and then we went out to a movie. When we got back to the room at 12 am the cot still had not been brought so i went to the front desk and explained the situation to the new person w... Read more

Often stay here when coming in for medical appointments. My room smelled of cigarette smoke this time, but front desk staff Erika was polite and responsive and addressed my concerns. Thank-you Erica! Stayed here two weeks ago and encountered a ditz at the front desk named Nicole, but all in all, still a comfortable stay with no concerns. Location is perfect, it's clean, breakfast is more than adequate, parking is safe and the pool us nice. Not a resort hotel or suitable for an extended stay, but... Read more

We parked our vehicle in the only spot left in the parking lot at Travel Lodge. Noticed when we were locking up our vehicle, a cream colored midsize vehicle, parked behind us, close to the exit. Looked like the man in the vehicle was holding a video gaming device. Went out the next morning to discover no forced entry, but around 1500.00 worth of contents in our vehicle gone. Filled out an incident report with the front desk and called the Thunder Bay Police Department. Overall, really tarnish... Read more

We stayed here twice. The first stay was in a small room with a king bed on 2nd floor. Black dirt in white bathroom tiles, otherwise not bad. We were on the 1st floor in a room with dble beds. Hall and room had an unpleasant odor. No desk, just a lone round table with a microwave. Large closet had no doors. Just a chair inside. No suitcase rack. Could hear every move in room above us. Wouldn't recommend it. Needs renovating.

Wrote review but not sure if it went through. Room did not have a fridge to keep refreshments cool. Used sink as fridge to find sink was partially plugged. No comfortable chair in room to relax only desk chair. If I would have been travelling with someone this could have been a problem. Would have been nice to have the option to rent a movie to relax. Also no smoking room this must be new, could smoke in rooms before.

My boyfriend and I stayed here after we hiked the sleeping giant and it was a huge mistake. We were tired, hungry, wanted a nice quiet place to relax and go for a nice swim. We saw the sign for a heated pool and this place was apparently dog friendly. Front desk ladies where so un-friendly it was not welcoming at all. I felt awkward standing there waiting to ask about a room as not one of them acknowledged me. After they had me pay and sign like 3 wavers for my dog they proceeded to tell me if ... Read more

I made an online booking for my wife and myself +1 cat. Asked for a pet friendly room. Called the day prior to our arrival to confirm the reservation. When we arrived they were unaware that it was booked as a pet friendly room so got downgraded from a king bed to a double. The room smelled of cigarettes, the bathtub was disgusting (shower with sandals only), the luggage cart (the only 1 for the entire hotel) would not fit through the door in the hallway unless you opened both sides. Smoky room, but posted as non-smoking. Greasy walls, sheets as thin as tissue paper. Hard lumpy pillows. Could not open bathroom door completely as it hit the vanity/sink. Had to slide in through the small opening, close the door and then use the sink. Staff was quick to offer a reduced rate, but we were more interested in having a clean updated room. We were told that the hotel was fully booked, so could not change rooms.

It's a decent hotel, and very reasonably priced. The pillows were horrible and lumpy so that kind of kept me up one of the nights but the rooms were clean, they have a pancake maker at breakfast time, the kids had fun in the pool and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The room was big, nicely furnished, and comfortable. The one exception was bathroom. Very old fixtures, tub enamel looked like it had been refinished and flaking. Courteous check in and check out. Nice pool, which we used with our five year old. In the morning, breakfast was an absolute zoo. Inadequate seating for the number of people there, and people rude and pushy (I know the hotel can't control that). We left and went to Tim Horton's.

This time thought I would try a nicer room so booked a 'Business Class' room with king bed and sofa. Hotel needs to be renewed, first room we got had an awful smell like a hockey gym bag, pet hair was all over, napkins from previous people, looked like housekeeping is not doing a great job; they gave us another room without hesitation which it was really nice. Rooms need update, still have like an old smell. Continental breakfast was good and area was clean, pool looked nice but we didn't have time to try it; i guess for a one night stay is alright. Wifi was slow.

Just checked in Sept. 10, 2016. I apologize for being crabby with the young lady at the front desk she was as helpful as she could be and was pleasant and professional.. Our team stay's away from home approx. 150 times per season until Travelodge can ensure that ground floor rooms are available with fridge's and microwaves I will be avoiding booking with them. Putting in a request at the time of reservation just doesn't seem to be working. Have a good day. Thanks, Ben Leonard...........
