A group of us stayed at Holiday Inn for the weekend. The hotel is very clean, the room we had appeared to have been renovated recently. The Carpets, walls, furniture and bedding were all new and very comfortable. The Kids really enjoyed the new pool area and water slides. The fitness room is also new and well equipped. The only disappointing thing about the stay was we were charged for the local calls made from the room phone. We stay in hotels regularly and I thought that charging for local cal... Read more

I stayed here for a business trip for 14 days and there is nothing negative I have to say, first impressions were friendly staff and fast check in, room was clean and comfortable with no issues and always cleaned daily. I would highly recommend this hotel to stay for your visit to St Johns.

Booked a night so the kids could enjoy the pool / water slides. The renovated pool area is very nice (bright, clean, lots of space). Having two slides is great, the steps are big and bright. We liked that the slides do not enter directly into the swimming pool and that the pool was a good size for swimming. The only improvement would be if the pool had a shallow section (entire pool was 3.5' deep). Wasn't an issue for us, but families with young children may find the pool too deep for little one... The hotel charges for a 2nd person, which was for me a surprise as I often take my wife on business trips. The rooms were modern and bright, it was easy to work on my lap-top while my wife relaxed and read. - The bathroom was a bit of a disappointment as it was very small and I found it a but dated.

I stayed here for a convention for four days. The rooms were very clean and the staff were very accommodating. The restaurant attached served great Italian food but expensive if eating all meals in the hotel. No other options close to the hotel.

Staff very helpful rooms good for meetings with 186 ladies it went very good. Didn't have enough coffee in morning but when realized staff was there to help your cost was very high which may be why there wasn't enough coffee etc.

Great to come back again, after staying here in December and February. Nice hotel, it's nice to stay in a sixties style building, which is well maintained. Feel like it gives a proper north american experience of a hotel. Great for someone from europe. Staff are great. Very friendly and create a great atmosphere. Cheryl and Sue are great at breakfast. It's great to be able to start the day with a couple of people who are so cheerful. They're great too talk to about the culture and history ... Read more

This Hotel is very close to the St. John's airport. I passed it many times and have eaten many times at the East side Mario's restaurant attached. However the occasion arose where I needed to find a hotel at a reasonable price that would allow my small dog. To be honest this was the only hotel I could find. I did later find more but after staying here I will continue to stay when in St. John's. The hotel staff were so nice and the front counter was able to supply couple of items we forgot. ... Read more

Dirty, small rooms, not a pleasant stay. People are very nice. But not enough to make up for the old run down hotel. So small I banged my head on the shower rod when I walked into toilet! Will not go back there. Hotels are limited in Saint Johns as they are always busy. Book early and go somewhere else.

Stayed for one night before catching a ferry to Nova Scotia and the hotel is less than 10 mins away. Room is clean and comfortable. However the construction which I was not aware of before booking and the proximity to the highways (ie right next to the hotel ) did prove a tad bothersome.

We are regular travellers to NF and, as creatures of habit, tend to stay in the same hotels when in St John's. We have stayed here most years since 2003 for a couple of nights and always find it very comfortable. It is very easy to find from the Airport - just head towards downtown and it is on your left after about 4 or 5 minutes. Rooms are always clean and comfortable and the reception is very efficient. We tend to go here when not visiting downtown (although is only a short taxi ride away) as... Read more

The staff was awesome. The hotel is dated and costly for the size of the room. Bathroom is tiny and the room was not very big and seemed to be cluttered with the furniture. No mat in the bath tub so it is very easy to slip in the shower, no garbage can in the bathroom. No green bin.

The giant slides and pool are a highlight for the kids. Meals at East Side Mario where the kids eat free was great! Location is ideal, with everything a 10 minute drive away. Family suite is nice with the kids having their own smaller adjoining room with twin beds. We stayed on the first floor which was convenient as it was on the same floor as the pool. Would recommend as a good base for anyone visiting St John's.

Over priced for an older hotel with out dated carpet, fixtures, and décor. I have stayed in much nicer hotels for a lot less. When we first entered the room there was a bug crawling across one of the beds, the glasses on the table looked as if they hadn't even been rinsed out (gross). Would NOT stay here again.

We enjoyed our week at the Holiday Inn. The 2 waterslides were amazing even though the water was cold. Beware though, the floor is very slippery. Kids fell every time we were there even though there are mats. The gym is also good- a small variety of equipment. The location is ideal! It's minutes from the airport and minutes from downtown St. John's. It's also around the corner from the highway. The room was adequate. There was a fridge and a keurig, but no microwave. I usually stay downtown but booked late and during George Street Festival. Still a decent location if you are driving with easy access to the airport and local attractions. The hotel may be a little dated, but is clean and comfortable with working air conditioning. Mattress was a bit on the soft side but still acceptable. Air Conditioning worked. Friendly staff. Keurig in the room is convenient.

We stayed at this hotel for 9 nights in August and had a very relaxing time. The hotel staff was always very helpful and friendly. Our room was very comfortable and clean. Even though the weather outside was very hot some days and very chilly other days it was always easy to have the perfect temperature in our room. Oh and the view from our room was awesome. We had to spend an extra night in St John's due to flight cancellation. It was a Saturday and we didn't have arrangements to stay anywhere. There is a new Holiday Inn Express at the airport. That was a convenient option and there was availability. We arrived early but were able to check in right away. Our king sized room was immaculate and very comfortable. I stayed at the executive suite which overlooked a lake (East coasters call it a pond)...........the view of the lake, mountain range , birds, ducks, early morning fog over the mountains and Signal Hill ( a historical gem) were breathtaking. This inn is located between 2 lakes and I thoroughly enjoyed walking the trails around both these lakes every day. The front desk staff and the housekeeping staff were excellent.

We stayed at this hotel twice during our vacation to NL this August. Both times we found the hotel to be clean, the rooms decent size and always quiet. The staff was always nice and helpful. The location of the hotel is between the Airport and Downtown. We found it convenient since we had a car and we were close to the highway or could drive to Downtown. If you do not have a car then you need a taxi to get around.(Which is not that expensive). There is an East Side Mario's restaurant right next ... Read more

Room was clean and quiet. East Side Marios was attached, made for a great place to have a late dinner. We had a breakfast included room which was very good, food was hot and we could choose anything on the menu. Service was fast and friendly. We did not use any other amenities because we were just there for a quick overnight before we moved on.

We generally stay at the Holiday Inn because it's conviently located between downtown and shopping. The service is great and the hotel is neat and clean and a good value for what you pay. Eastside Marios is a bit of a hit and miss and can be quite expensive for breakfast.

This hotel is OK - honestly the rates should probably be slightly cheaper - it's old. The service & staff were good. It was clean (but tired). East Side Mario's is the Hotel Restaurant which isn't too bad. The location is close to the airport, but you would need a car/cab to get downtown. The rooms are tired and the layout in our room wasn't great. Not enough conveniently placed AC outlets either.

Standard Holiday Inn decor, rooms were large, spacious and fairly well equipped. I've stayed there twice within the span of a week. The first room had severe internet problems for some reason, the connection was being dropped constantly. The taxi to St. John's city centre is about $15 but there is a Sobeys supermarket about 20 min walk from the hotel.

The new pool/slides are very nice along with the gym. Highly recommend.
