Stayed at this hotel while attending the Lego convention with our grand children. Only stayed one night. Reserved 2 rooms; but only one was ready when we checked in at 5:00 pm. Check in is supposed to be 3:00. We spent an hour at the pool to kill time until the second room was ready. The rooms although clean; are in desperate need of updating. The wallpaper is coming off on the walls; bathroom ceilings are in disrepair, carpets need cleaning. We ended up having our rooms right by t... Read more

Visited Sandman Hotel Vancouver airport again and everything was excellent. Service check in personnel (Caucasian male with orange air - didn't quite get his name) was friendly, personable, and professional. Room seems great so far (just checked-in). I went into more detail with my other review; it seems their rooms are recently renovated too since my last review. Room was very clean and overall a great experience.

We stayed at the Sandman Airport for one night while my daughter was at a gymnastics competition. We arrived early with tons of food for our team which we couldn't leave in our car due to the heat and even though our room wasn‚??t ready they were happy to change rooms in order to accommodate us. We had a room on the 3rd floor facing the highway. The room was quite small but in nice condition. I think they must have recently redone the carpets recently because there‚??s a strong new carpet smel... Read more

I stayed here a few years ago - this time around was way better! The room was much more spacious with a kitchenette and a large fridge. The location is great as always, close to highway and airport. Coffee/tea in the lobby. The restaurant on site is very good. Free parking! Staff was excellent, friendly and efficient. The bathroom was very tight. Housekeeping could have been a bit better, especially where it's noticeable, like the bathroom. Would have been nice if there was breakfast incl... Read more

We so appreciate Jessie's professional handling of our reservation and going the extra mile to get us a King bed. Amazing rooms, professional staff and great sleep! Parking is free (big plus in this city) and so close to the airport. We will be back.

We checked into the Sandman Airport Hotel after a full day of touring Vancouver and dinner on Grouse Mountain. We picked the Sandman because it offers 24-hour free shuttle to the airport. Our (5-couples) flights all left at 6AM! The hotel was clean and the bed very comfortable.

I have been a repeat visitor to this hotel and have always been satisfied with my stay. It is a good 3 star hotel and offers good value for the money It is minutes frome the airport (shuttle avail) is very clean and has a pleasant staff There is a restaurant on site and it seems to be popular with the locals as it offers a pub type menu that is reasonably priced Parking is free but a little strange to enter as you have to go through the Travelodge parking enterance to get to the hotel

rates were better than anywhere else near the airport, beds were comfortable, room was clean, service was great, restaurant has good tasty food. What more can you ask. We would definitely stay here again. The shuttle was booked up for the time we needed it so book in advance if you are going to the airport. We had to take a taxi but it was under $20.00. Overall this was a good gig.

I booked this hotel through Expedia and thought that this was the Signature Hotel. This location was convenient as I was in B.C for business but did not like the room which was rather old and outdated compared to the many other hotels that I visit each year. Overall I did give this hotel three stars primarily because the bar/restaurant was very good. It may be that I have a different idea if what a hotel should look like and how the rooms match up since I typically stay at the Hilton chain of ho... Read more

I booked in group of 14 (8 rooms) for one night and I found the whole experience a lesson in contrasts. I book at least 8 months in advance and I book hotels all over the world yet this is the first time I have signed a credit card authorisation for a deposit for the group only to be told immediately after I signed the faxed form, that I would have to pay the whole amount at that time as this was peak season. Before I could give a reply, I checked my credit card statement online and the full amo... Read more

Great location just east of Hwy 99 at Bridgeport Rd. A short 10 minute walk along Bridgeport and Canada Way to the Bridgeport Skytrain Station for downtown Vancouver or Richmond. Lots of restaurants nearby, Moxie's in the hotel; Denny's down the street; Chops down the street; Tim Hortons and A@W a 2 minute walk. Hotel is clean and comfortable. Rooms are large.

We had an excellent stay here. There is a complimentary shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel and it's a 10-15 min walk back to the Canada line train to go to the city, or you could catch the shuttle bus that goes twice an hour and get the train from the airport. The rooms were nicely appointed and staff were very happy to hold our bags for the day as we had a late night flight out. We also arrived in late and ate at the Moxie Grill which is the hotel restaurant, our food was excellent. Stay... Read more

Needed to catch a very early flight so stayed at this hotel for one night. The location was very convenient if you want to be close to the airport, about 10-15 minutes drive. The services at the reception desk when we checked in were ok but not outstanding - the girl was helpful but the guy kept talking on the phone (sounded like he was talking to someone he knew) even though there were a few people waiting to be served. The room was quite spacious for 2 people and quiet but the bathroom need... Read more

Luckily we were only here one night. We had two rooms. One had a terrible moth-ball smell and the other had a bad entry door. There was mold in the shower & the hallways were very dirty. The walls were very thin. The staff was helpful, but it didn't make up for the poor condition of the room.

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights - king size bed, executive room. First impressions.... "not thrilled." Arrived after several hours drive from Jasper, Alberta. We had a pickup truck and trailer and it turns out their parking lot was super tiny. I'd called ahead before booking to ask about parking for our type of vehicle and was told it would be no problem. Turns out that meant we'd have to park at one of Sandman's nearby properties and go back and forth.... by foot or by shuttle. Had that been ... Read more

We flew in late, and took a shuttle to the hotel. It seemed to be a decent hotel. The staff was friendly. Our rooms were nice and the beds comfortable. Was a little disappointed that they don't have the continental breakfast included like so many hotels do. They have a restaurant on site though, Moxie's. We did have breakfast there. It was a bit pricey, food was good, but price was high for what you got. The morning staff at the desk were nice, even offered to call us a taxi to take us ... Read more

We found the staff to be very friendly and the rooms to be very clean. We had the loft suite and we were very happy with it. We had a King Bed 2 Story loft which was great. We all loved it and thought it was really neat that the bedroom was up one floor. Would definitely stay here again. Water in the pool was very cold which is a big big big disappointment. What's the use of having a pool if guests can't enjoy it. They had free water and apples in the lobby which was good. Also free shuttle from the airport.

It is a decent hotel with good size room and helpful front desk staff. The location is excellent with close proximity to restaurants and transportation. A careful examination, however, found the need for some upgrading. Corners of cabinets and bottom of door frame had lots of dents and peeled paint, making the unit unsightly. It also does not offer free breakfast like other hotels. Depending what you may be looking for, there are similar price hotels that one can potentially consider. We only st... Read more

We stayed at the Sandman Airport Hotel because it was in close proximity to YVR. We stayed at the beginning and end of our 2-week vacation in Vancouver Island, BC. The hotel was much better than the average airport hotel. The décor was modern, beds were super comfortable and, most importantly, the free airport shuttle was ON TIME and things went seamlessly. Prices are fair, personnel were friendly, and I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Had a stopover while travelling back from Hawaii. We arrived on an early AM flight and hotel was fully booked the night before but still able to get one room for the day at a nominal charge. They then allowed us an early check-in to our 2nd room at noon for no additional charge (we had booked 2 rooms for that evening due to the size of our family). Stayed here for a week. Hotel is close to the airport and offers a free shuttle every 15 min to the airport. Easy to get to and around the city. Staff were extremely friend and helpful. Moxie restaurant attached and food was good. If you're looking for a nice place to stay and you don't need all these extra luxuries i.e. spa, massage places, then this is the place. Rooms and bathrooms are clean. Would definitely stay here again.

The sandman was comfortable and far more spacious than other airport hotels we've stayed at. We appreciated the free shuttle , free wifi and in room dinner service. It's a little far to walk to the closest train station to get to the city or to Richmond - a 15 minute walk but not undo able We very much enjoyed our comfortable stay here.

Upon arrival at the hotel we were met with fresh cold glass of lemon water and the front desk staff were very polite and attentive. We got to our room and the air conditioner was not working so they promptly found us another room were it did. The room itself wasn't too bad but you could see it was a little worn out and dated. Could have been a little cleaner also. I guess its ok if you're just staying a night or two.

Although we had advised that we would be arriving close to midnight, the desk clerk had trouble finding our reservation and insinuated that the problem was due to our late arrival.
