We stayed at this hotel after my daughter had her wisdom teeth out. Upon arrival, I was not impressed by the fact that parking was an additional $19/day. However, the experience was overshadowed by the friendliness, caring and genuine concern shown by one of the concierges. Jose remembered me, asked after my daughter and helped me figure out the best place to go for soft food. After I walked in sweaty from a morning run, he had me wait for 10 seconds while he went to get some fresh water for me.... Read more

I stayed for 3 nights for business meetings and I am looking forward to returning in a few weeks. The hotel was very clean. There was construction in progress in a few areas of the hotel which we were advised of at the time of check in. I didn't hear any of it during my stay. The hotel staff were amazing and every time we walked past them as a group or individually they took the time to say hello and even paged the elevators for me a few times as I was coming into the lobby. Stayed here for a week for a business trip. Rooms were roomy, clean and quiet. Bed comfort is about average for me. The on site restaurant, Pier 73, is actually pretty good. Good food, and the I enjoyed the ambience by the water. They also service the hotel room service. The only minor bad part is the location. It's not near a SkyTrain stop. There's a bus that comes by just outside the hotel that takes you to the Bridgeport station, which is great but the service stops after 7pm. They do have a... Read more

We spent 2 nights here after disembarking from a cruise ship. I wanted a place with a free airport shuttle. Pacific Gateway runs their shuttle every 20 minutes, 24/7. It enabled us to have access to the Sky Train and quick access to the airport when we left. It is located on a river and a short walk across the bridge brought us to an area with lots of restaurants and shopping. The room was elegant & clean. I loved the toiletries. Spacious, clean room with very comfortable bed and fluffy pillows. My husband slept like a baby. Some rooms have a great view of the marina, while the other side has the city and airport view. Beautiful lobby with friendly, helpful front desk personnel. You can bike to the night market. The bikes are available for rent at the hotel.

My wife and I are traveling with the "Discover Alaska" tour company and the first leg of our trek brought us to Vancouver and the Pacific Gateway Hotel. The Hotel property is near the airport and is a 3-wing building in the shape of the letter "Y". The outside of the building looks a bit worn. The lobby floor was quite impressive. I couldn't tell if the floor was marble or granite, but whatever it is, it was highly polished. The room we were initially given was not in the best of shape. ... Read more

We stayed here for two separate nights at the beginning of a tour and then again at the end. Very comfortable King room with a wonderful bed which was essential after travelling! Did not try the attached restaurant but had the buffet breakfast located in the hotel itself which was more than satisfying. Would stay again if visiting the Richmond area.

This is a good location for a conference or if you are planning a family reunion, wedding or event that requires your guests to fly in via International or South Terminal airports. Its easy to get to and from the airports. Richmond has several great shopping areas that you can travel to including the newest designer outlets located a 10 minute walk from the hotel.

Definitely look forward to staying there again. ps - Dulce handled our checkout very efficiently and with friendliness and humour.

We just stayed the one night but were happy with our stay. The shuttle was on time and leaves every 20 minutes to the airport. Check in was quick and easy. The rooms are basic but clean and quiet. In the morning there was a really nice coffee service set up downstairs in the lobby at 4:00 am. We really appreciated that. Not too many hotels do that anymore. Stayed at this hotel for 1 night in June 2016 as an overnight stop before flying out of Vancouver Airport. Views from window overlooking the harbour. Very comfortable bed, good sized room. Not overly noisy despite being on the flightpath for the airport. Shuttle to the airport was efficient. Ate in the harbour restaurant attached to the hotel, which gave reasonable value for money.

Restaurant Pier 73 which is attached to the hotel is absolutely fantastic, their fish is simply outstanding. The rooms are fairly standard. Unfortunately my key card kept deactivating and this was a real pain, especially when I needed to come down and que for 20 minutes to get it activated. Happened me three times over 24 hours and happened to my wife once. Can extend your checkout time for 10 CAD per hour which is an excellent service. They also have a lovely gift shop.

Arrived after a late flight - had reserved for two adults and a 17 year old and were advised we had a king bed - no sofa bed, nothing available with two beds. Frustrating after a long day of travel. The hotel is located just a short drive from the airport and offers a shuttle that runs every 20 minutes. Staff are friendly and efficient, rooms are comfortable, and there are reasonable amenities. There are two things that I personally did not like. The on-site restaurant is super expensive and there are no other places to eat nearby. Also, there are no refrigerators or micros in the room which makes bringing food from outside rather prohibitive. Other than these, a good hotel.

The pro's: - very comfy beds & nice views - very friendly staff - easy check in, check out - beautiful lobby - all the major tour companies pick up from the lobby - convenient location to the airport but not for downtown activities The average: - room size - equivalent to a nice $100-150/night room (this is NOT a 4-5 star room). Layout was tight, the desk chair in our room was worn out & bathroom was tiny. - lots of parking - rooms were clean and housekeeping did a great job - Pier 73 was gr... Read more

This airport hotel is in an unenviable position backing onto the Fraser river. It is possible to walk out of the hotel and find a quiet place to sit or walk which is amazing considering it is on a major flight path. There is a new outlet within walking distance of the hotel which is very well set out and has all the big names at very good prices. The pier resteraunt is as it implies set on a pier on the Fraser river. The food is good and average prices. There are free shuttles to and from the ai... Read more

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. It was ok but definitely not a 4 star as advertised. Location is good and the coffee was good. BUT our room was really dirty. The bathroom was full of hair, the tub was grimy, just grossed me out really. $19 per day to park a car in the lot as well seems unnecessary. I would not go back to this hotel.

"Fool me once, shame on you! Fool me twice, shame on me" This little saying rather sums up our experiences with PGH. Last year, summer 2015, we arrived atx PGH after a gruelling flight from Europe, tired, hungry and thirsty.A call to room service revealed that room service was operating on summer hours!!! We rested for a few hours until they were in operation. An order for 2 martinis was placed. After 1 and a half hours they arrived. Cost $48.00. Subsequent letters to the Owners/Management went u... An airport hotel is a place to put your head. The Pacific Gateway ticks all the boxes for a decent airport hotel - quick, free shuttle from terminal to hotel and vice versa, comfortable bed, quiet room, reasonable price. We had a couple of minor issues which are irritating after a long day of travel - the key cards didn't work in the elevator so we couldn't get to our floor and the room type allocated was incorrect, so we had to sort that and swap rooms. The staff dealt with the issues prompt... Read more

Location is great (Airport), with access to most municipalities despite the traffic. Hotel is very business like, minimum frills, but functional and efficient. Bed linen stood out for me - excellent quality. Food access - non existent. Judging by other reviews, I wouldn't waste time on room service. Greatest Chinatown in N.America is only minutes away.

Needed one night near airport to catch early flight and ended up bidding on a mystery hotel and got the Pacific Gateway. After reading the reviews on TripAdvisor I was a bit leary of staying there, but I personally thought the place was just fine. Indeed overall much better then the 4 star downtown hotel at twice the price. Clean, modern, great view of Fraser inlet and close to airport. The only negative was no room service, but the restaurant on the pier was decent with a great view.

A wonderful experience with Pacific Gateway! The staff was great and very helpful. Close to the airport and on time shuttles makes this one a winner. The rooms were very fresh and clean smelling. We stayed here twice in June, once as an overnight stopover between flights and the other as a day room stay between flights. There is a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport which was convenient (and a short ride) and the hotel provided all we wanted from an airport hotel. We ate at the restaurant on both occasions and were quite happy with the service and food. I have stayed and heldcorporate events at this hotel many times over the years and have found it to be quite satisfactory. Sadly a number of recent renovations have diminished it in my eyes. First, despite the fact that there is a restaurant on property, they have discontinued room service. Now, instead of room service they offer a very limited take out menu from their restaurant. ... Read more
