I love the hotel atmosphere, everything is grey or a matte black. It is very modern and sleek. I personally love the dim lights in the hallways of the floors as well. The view from my room was amazing, the big window was a huge reason why we chose this hotel. The setup of the room is so unique. The beds were some of the comfiest ever. The bathroom was gorgeous with a stand up clear shower that I loved. The location is surrounded by restaurants, cafes, and many more. It is on a nice little cobble... Read more

At the time I visited, the hotel was under renovation. The lobby was extremely noisy due to construction during the day. Maybe the hotel will offer a better experience upon completion. The hotel is located in Saint-Roch. The staff is very nice. The hotel has good services, ex. a pool. The hotel offers free wifi. There are some problems with the room, though. The bed is facing the window; there is a half-wall behind the bed; there is a desk and a chair behind the half-wall; there is a corner so... Read more

The good side: -Clean hotel, cheap, right in town and many bars and restaurants. Lively area, that used to be (and me appear still) a bit rough at times. -Complimentary coffee in the Lobby The not so impressive side: -Confusing to get there by car as the parking and hotel is undergoing renovations. -Parking being redone, means you need to rely on their valet parking service -As I did online banking, I noticed that they had kept a random amount close to 680$CAD as deposit on my credit card. Huge bed facing a floor to ceiling window wall . Chaize lounge in front of this window allows you to sit and watch Quebec go by * floors below you. Bathroom was ultra modern , dark grey slate , huge power shower but I believe some have baths so you need to request if this is what you want . Down side is that Quebec is undergoing a... Read more

The hotel is nice overall. Recently renovated room and spectacular view overlooking St. Roch church and city, depending on room orientation. Inconveniences: three elevators yet only one working (perhaps only during renovations?) means you wait for a very long time to get up to your room and then it's full, humid and at times smelly. The bathroom lighting is poor, no exhaust fan means you wait for it to de-steam before you can continue with your morning routine and the hair dryer functions much l... Read more

Hubby and I really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Pur. It was difficult to find the entrance - even with the signs because of construction. Perhaps have an "Enter/Entrez" sign at the door?. Two cedars out front didn't help much to identify the "actual" entrance. Weekend getaway was great. Jacques @ concierge gave us a great recommendation to walk from the hotel to old Quebec (instead of cabbing). We enjoyed the 15+min walk. We are active people so the walk was enjoyable and we loved out stops and the... Read more

This hotel is currently undergoing a major renovation, and will be a member of the Starwood hotel group's new "Tribute" brand (well, that's the plan -- with the Starwood/Marbiott merger, it might wind up in a different portfolio). A recent reviewer described this as a new "budget" hotel, but it's certainly not that. Perhaps a lower "under renovation" rate and the hotel's stark design scheme suggested that? Starwood doesn't do budget hotels, and Pur is certainly not supposed to be one. What i... Read more

Stayed here using Starwood Points for one night during the drive from the east coast to Ontario. Fantastic view of the Notre Dame de Saint Roche if you get a room looking that way. Room was newly refurbished and bathroom was very nice. All staff we talked to were very friendly and willing to help in both French and English. There are lots of nice dinner and breakfast options on the same street as the hotel too. Would stay here again.

I wish I had had more time to explore the hotel and surrounding area, but we were staying only briefly. If you can get a high floor, the view of the city is perfect with floor to ceiling windows that will give you a smidge of vertigo. Super close to downtown, many great restaurants and shops on the street, friendly staff - lobby very bright and white. Rooms are bright with huge windows, bathrooms are very dark - but good sized. Valet was excellent - very friendly and even helped with restaurants recommendation when it was pouring rain - and we forgot our umbrella. For SPG members it is closer to an ALOFT - just more white.

The fact that I paid $500+ to stay in this hotel for 2 nights makes me nausiated. On paper it is great, acceptable location, a few solid amenities. The rooms are okay, but not worth $250 a night. The pool and gyn have wonky hours and I've been here less than 24 hours and been stuck in a run away elevator, to which the staff did not respond. If there's one thing this hotel has going for it, it's the very friendly staff. Aside from that, not a whole lot. I realize they're trying to be hip and modern - using a lot of visual contrast everywhere from the back and white lobby, to the dim, bleak looking hallways, to the white rooms and black bathrooms - but under that mediocre facade is a mediocre hotel. First time we've stayed at Hotel Pur. Found everything to be very European. Clean, crisp linens. Impeccable housekeeping. This hotel used to be a Holiday Inn hotel and we stayed here back then. It's under renovation now so the lobby doesn't look too inviting, their underground garage is closed (they provide valet parking at $24/night) and the front is in scaffolds. Yet the staff are friendly and helpful, the room was pretty good with new bathroom facilities and nice views (16th floor), and the pool is open. The hotel located in the lower part of the old town so walking to the center is uphill though manageable.

Nice place, reminds me a lot of European Hotels, very sterile décor. Great staff and the price is right. Like the location. we usually try to stay in that area. The only thing that I was not crazy about, the TV, I know we don't go to the hotel to watch TV but if you do, DELL makes decent computers but lousy TV's. Did not try the restaurant so no comments.

We did it on purpose to take a room here because we did not want to be on the other side of the hill where all the shopping and action is. We have been in Quebec city a few times so we know our way around. The room is modern looking. Very bright. The hallway are kind of dark but you get use to it. Overhaul it is a nice hotel.

Kind of a modern/chic hotel just outside the lower city. Its a short 15 minute walk to the main district in the lower town. Front desk was responsive and kind and had good recommendations for places to visit and took the time to show you where to go and what to do on a map.

I stayed at Hotel PUR Quebec, a Starwood property, for one night in July 2016. The service at the front desk was exceptionally good - I saw the agents assisting guests with attraction bookings, dining suggestions and help navigating the local area. While the hotel is undergoing construction, as a guest I felt minimal impact from this. Even the portions of the hotel that have not been renovated are very contemporary and clean. My room had a beautiful view of the church - well worth paying the e... Read more

The staff were friendly and helpful. We were told it was a 30 minute walk to the historic part of town. There is a coffee shop next to the hotel. Nice comfortable bed. Bathroom was good apart from a part of the ceiling missing which had no affect on our stay. Only one of the three lifts were working during our time at the hotel. We used the stairs just in case. One had an intermittent fault. The safe was locked in the open position rendering it useless and the coffee machine in the room did not... Read more

The hotel itself is being renovated to be come a Starwood property (although I saw no sign of renovations) and I must admit it is overdue and it needs to get on the right level. I was surprised that a 4 stars hotel would look so basic. It's old and missing a lot of love! It is neat and clean, but something is definitely missing. Not the type of hotel you wanna chill in the lobby or anything. Even the pool was looking sad but they have everything. (Pool, sauna, gym, terrace, restaurant). Even t... Read more

I got a good price on this hotel through American Express which helped to make my decision on where to stay. I was very happy with my choice! The Church-View Room was amazing! The bed was very comfortable which is so very important to me. The front desk staff was beyond my expectations of helpfulness. They were all genuinely friendly and especially Mathieu. My only suggestions would be a little more drawer space for longer stays and the curtains had to be pulled from the top (standing on a ... Read more
