Let me just start by saying, I am a frequent traveller whether it be personal or for business and Holiday Inn is always my first choice of hotel chains to stay in. However on Friday, April the 29th a couple of my friends and I decided we??d go to a club in the Peterborough area and stay at the Holiday Inn. Checking in was a royal disaster, my girlfriends were coming from Cobourg I from Aurora area. I had called to add my friend onto our room so she could check into the two rooms we had and I wa... Stayed at this Hotel for Mother's day Weekend and had a beautiful stay from start to finish! Staff is attentive and helpful. The room was spotless and breakfast on Sunday was excellent. Thanks for a Great visit!

I stayed here, as a business traveller, for one night, in March 2016, as part of a business meeting that was being hosted in the hotel. The hotel is a fairly squat, elongated structure. My travelling companions and I joked about being able to bowl in the hallways if we were so inclined. As a result, if you're near the end of the hallway, as I was, it's a long walk just to get to the ice machine! I was at the far end of the hotel and a trip to the front desk required hiking boots and a walking s... Read more

We stayed for two nights in a pool view room. It had the added bonus of a glimpse of the river from the corner window as well. The room was dated but very clean. There was a small fridge for drinks, which we unplugged at night because it was too loud. The heating/cooling system was also old and noisy but it muffled any sounds from the hallway. The staff was friendly and helpful and took the extra time to make sure everything was ok. They even left a phone message making sure we were comfortable... Read more

We made a last minute decision to stay overnight in Peterborough during the Victoria Day Weekend. Surprisingly- we got a room! We stayed in a King Suite - our room was incredibly clean, modern design, and it had a wonderful bed with a great pillow top. We had a great sleep and our floor was quiet. The staff would say "hello!" every time we walked by them. So incredibly friendly and genuine, and eager to help. We didn't stay long in Peterborough, but with the view on the water and the location to... Read more

Overall the stay was "ok". We had a street view room - definitely would request a waterfront room had we known. The green glow of the Holiday Inn sign lit our room up each night and the street noise was non-stop throughout both Friday and Saturday night. There is constant traffic (seemed like a lot of intoxicated locals may purchase their drugs out of the Beer Store parking lot after 10pm). The police were there both nights multiple times. The pool area and back end of the hotel were amazing! It... Read more

Stayed 1 night for business, and what a beautiful room! Overlooking the Otanabee river the bed was comfy, the staff were incredibly friendly and professional and overall the experience was great! This was recommended as the best place to stay in Peterborough and it definitely lived up to the recommendation, would recommend for professionals and families in the area!

The waterfront side of the hotel provides a nice 'escape-by-the-water' feel, complete with a table-service bar and restaurant on the patio. It had a nice family atmosphere. The pool, sauna, and gym were also in great condition. The street side exterior and some of the carpeting throughout the building could really use updating.

I stayed here with 3 others for 2 nights for a conference. The bed was very comfortable, which is always my primary concern with any hotel. The air conditioning took a bit of figuring out to get it at a good temperature, but it worked and was not too noisy. The room and bathroom was clean and in decent condition. However, others are right - the hotel is showing signs of wear and could really use an update for that reason. I'm generally not concerned about aesthetics or things looking "dated", bu... Read more

Our room was on the main floor, facing the water, The room was clean and well appointed with a couple of chairs on the small patio outside. We recently traveled 3 1/2 hours to this hotel for our sons sporting event. We booked a room for the night before his game. Unfortunately, some of our requests were not fulfilled (room near our family that were travelling with us and an non-obstructed waterfront view), but the staff were very understanding and accommodating and the room was very clean. Aging gracefully, the Holiday Inn Peterborough offers beautiful scenic river views, a very good restaurant, and fresh cream in the room. As one who despises powdered coffee whitener, to come across a hotel which has a Keurig coffee maker, and stocks the fridge daily with fresh cream and milk, is a big deal. Generally, I bring my own cream and coffee.

We had dinner on their outside terrace and were pleasantly surprised at the beautiful view. The food was not spectacular and their menu was very limited, however, the service was great! My personal opinion is that if they expanded their menu and hired a great chef, this would no doubt turn into a destination place for all tourists and locals alike.

Needs major updating as of March 6/16. Pool was excellent with a portion of it inside and you could swim to the outside pool. Pipe on Hot Tub cracked, so it was down for repairs. The restaurant staff was excellent. We showed up with 17 people at the last minute. They sat us in our own room which was great. Food was very good. The restaurant manager served us all night. The staff were wonderful, the amenities acceptable for the price, and defects we encountered in our executive room, such as a non-functioning coffee maker, burned out light in the bathroom, and unworkable bathtub drain, which the housekeeper should have noticed and reported to maintenance, were corrected once we did her job of detailing these... I was placed on the fourth floor which I loved very much but prefered to of had the Lake view but nothing was available so that was fine. my only problem was the beds. My aunt is only 4'8" and trying to get up unto her bed was very hard for her since the mattresses are about 3 feet from the floor so she needed a step stool of some sort which the hotel provided. The staff all in all were fantastic and the meals down stairs are really not that expensive .
