4 adults spent 2 nights in a 2 bedroom (king sized beds, en-suites) villa. We came by boat with a lot of gear. The dock master helped us unload, provided transportation to our villa and started our weekend off right. Everyone we came in contact with, from the front desk to the spa were courteous, helpful and went out of their way to make sure we had an enjoyable stay. Any needs or questions we had were handled very quickly, including finding lost earrings in the spa and mailing them back to t... Read more

We travelled to Pender Island with another couple to celebrate our anniversaries at the end of March and are so glad we did! What a beautiful spot. We rented a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom cottage that was extremely clean and well equipped. We even had our own BBQ and hot tub on the patio. From the moment we arrived the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The meals at the Syrens bistro were very good. I had the oyster tacos for lunch one day...delicious. Our husbands had the Mac & cheese with p... Read more

My husband took me and our good friends on a fishing trip last weekend and we had a wonderful time. We stayed in the Villa which was very spacious and had everything we needed. The entire staff at Poets Cove did their absolute best to accommodate our needs. Sabrina at the spa helped us select treatments and make reservations for 4 people so we could all relax after fishing. The front office coordinated getting someone to pick up our luggage from the dock and also helped out with a variety ... Read more

My daughter and I spent a delightful few days in April at this resort. The rooms, while not overly large are comfortable and tastefully decorated. The only thing we could not figure out was why the wooden louvered window between the bathroom and the bedroom. All rooms have balconies with water views. Rooms have fridges, coffee makers and bonus - china coffee cups instead of those horrible paper cups so many hotels have resorted to. The staff was wonderful, pleasant and hospitable. The island ha... Read more

My spouse and I spent one night during the May long weekend. After reading all the poor reviews about Management change effecting service I was a little apprehensive. But it turns out, overall we had a good experience. The only downside was food service (see more information below). We biked in from Otter Bay ferry terminal and the reception host offered us both a drink of fruity water when we checked in. Both people at reception were friendly and helpful. We got our rooms right away just a lit... Read more

We were here staying in the marina on our boat with 40 plus boats in our flotilla/rendezvous. The marina staff were fantastic. Kudos to Malcom who was so helpful & had a great sense of humor. We enjoyed the meals we had at the restaurant and also in the café - the employees were welcoming and very friendly. The general manager, Stuart, is wonderful! Ask to meet his precious 13 year old French bull dog - she stole our hearts. Highly recommend a visit here!

We stayed at the harbour in our boat and loved it. We stayed there last year as well and whent to the market not as good as salt springs but great to take the shuttle in and see part of the island. There's bus stops on the way but no buses locals just pick u up. Kinda neat, but we had a shuttle or we would of done this. The resurant at the resort is great has a band outside and the atmosphere is relaxing.

The place is beautiful. Our family stayed in one of the cottages. 4 kids 4 adults! Great time. Explored the island and spent every afternoon swimming with the kids in the awesome heated pool! The deer and the flowers, the boats the ocean, so quiet!

We hoped with new owner/management the property would be improved from a disappointing first visit. It hasn't improved. The service is intermittent and slow, the food inconsistent, expensive and very small portions. The bar band was either the best band ever for overweight, middle aged women who had too much to drink before we got there, or the band brought their entire extended family to the resort. This place has nothing to offer unless you sit in the pool for 12 hrs a day, or sit in your room... Read more

The ferry rides there weren't the only disappointment. No food for the hungry after certain hours which was unfortunate for us because we arrived at 11pm after our long journey there from Vancouver. My boyfriend had booked this trip for my 25th birthday. We were looking forward to kayaking but when we went to the office to find the instructor she looked at us and said "can i help you" we were very shocked with the customer service that we had received from her she told us we couldn't go kayaking... This place, the restaurants in particular, is so poorly run we will never return. The only highlight was Blackberry, the resort cat. Clearly hiring professional staff is virtually impossible on South Pender Island. What could have been a high destination has become an amateurish mediocre over priced place.

My wife and I came as part of a family reunion. We had such a great time. We were checked in by a lovely gentleman very tall but cant remember his name. While we were checking in some brought us a welcome drink which we though was a very nice touch to start off our stay. My parents and us stayed in a private cottage which was really nice as we had a beautiful view of the ocean. It was Canada Day and although we were enjoying ourselves on our patio we could still enjoy listening to the live m... Read more

Upon my arrival I was greeted and check in by their friendly staff and was welcomed by warming customer service. All around a fantastic experience, with an outstanding gym filled with all types of equipment, personal hot tubs and stunning views. Poets Cove is by far one of the most beautiful and must see locations on the West Coast, not to mention they house the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Which for me at least is an extremely important factor of any dream getaway. From what I ca... Read more

Marina pub very poorly run. Staff are rude and not helpful at all. Service is terrible. Completely disappointed and would recommend you do not go. If you can put up with the service the food is quite good. Such a shame from what says it is a spa resort.

Poets cove marina is a nice family destination. The marina office is conveniently located on the outside pier of the marina. The staff are friendly and helpful. The garbage and recycle for boaters is convenient as well as the fuel dock. The prices were competitive for the area. Dock in good repair easy to navigate. Boaters: no 50amp power, you may need a convertor for the 30amp power supply available. The marina shares access to 2 pools for the resort. One pool is designated for kids and familie... Read more

We visited Poets Cove for the first Time since last summer when we had several poor experiences from a service standpoint at both the marina and restaurant. I had heard from several people including staff that work at Poets to try it again as is has significantly Improved and now has great new management including new F and B Manager. Clearly Poets Cove now has excellent service in several areas that we experienced first hand. Last year we couldn't get a response on our marine radio from the ... Read more

We visited Poets during the Canada Day weekend and were very happy to see the level of service had greatly improved over the last summer. The marina staff were excellent. They were friendly and attentive. Malcolm was especially helpful. We have been customers of Poets Cove since the hotel was built and we are very happy that the food services, marina and hotel are operating at a higher standard. The food at the pub was much better and there was more variety. Unfortunately the service was ... Read more

We stopped for a bite of lunch on our way by and wanted to see the 'famous' Poet's Cove. Nachos were great and our salad was very good too. Though, I found a hair in it. They replaced it with no problem and then didn't charge me for it. Amazing customer service there in my opinion, I didn't ask for it but because of this I would say these guys are a 10. Thank you for a very pleasant afternoon.

Came here for a quick 6 day getaway. Its quite a distance from the ferry dock especially at night and not being a familiar with the roads. Even in broad daylight the sign is hard to find if your coming from the main road. First impression - a wonderful property with friendly staff and great landscaping. On a closer look, everything is just slightly off. The furniture in the room is too big and clunky - taking up far too much space in the small size rooms. Chairs on the deck great but no umbrel... Even though we came off of a long sailboat run and looked a little haggard, the staff was nonplussed and very welcoming. We enjoyed sitting on the patio, watching the sunset on our boat, with a glass of wine. Then, we took a dip in the pool before heading back to the boat. A pleasant stay and we will be back!

Ate at their fine dining restaurant 3 nights ago. What a mistake. We were staying nearby and so I made reservation for 8am for 4. We originally had planned to eat in the bistro/pub, but there was a rock and roll band playing right in front of the pub patio and it was so loud there was no hope of talking, so we decided to move upstairs. We were on the deck of the dining room, and while the view is incredible, especially as sunset approaches, the band was still so loud it was difficult to talk... Read more

For locals and visitors Poet's Cove has a bit of a legacy - which is why an average rating is disappointing. Stayed in fall 2015 in the shoulder season - quickly learned of new management and opened up my trip advisor sitting in the restaurant to a string of poor reviews. I did receive a fair rate for a last minute booking and the manager attended to initial operational blips in stay. There are some great staff however very, very few of them, leading to long waits instead of vacation enjoyment... Read more

Absolutely gorgeous location! Staff was extremely attentive & helpful. Enjoyed the lodge balcony for reading and enjoying wine while listening to the Friday & Saturday night band. Recommend hitting Tilly Point for a beautiful beach, as well as the Enchanted Forest for a great view point picture.

Caution to all guests using the spa. All massage therapists are NOT licensed . My girlfriend and I took a spa day at poets cove resort and spa. I booked us in for deep tissue massage. Therapist was great however when it came to paying we were charged $135 after being quoted $120. When w went back to ask why w were told they no longer do deep tissue and up graded us to sports massage as it had become more popular. It was like pulling teeth to get refund for the difference. We were really looking forward to our return to Poets Cove during our annual trip to Canadian waters to celebrate our anniversary. It really is a beautiful place with very gracious and helpful staff, from the marina staff to wait staff and front desk. Since our visit 3 years ago, the resort is looking a little tired and furniture, pool furniture and bedding could use replacement. When traveling by boat, you're captive to their restaurants and we found the food very ordinary. The resort is be... Read more
