I booked here after needing somewhere pet friendly to stay for a layover. I have a small dog and called to confirm that would be okay before booking. When I got there it was late and snowing heavily,my cab driver unloaded my luggage whilst I went in to request a luggage cart (which they didn't have) I left my luggage outside whilst checking in and had my dog with me in his pet carrier... Some hours later I took my dog out for a quick walk and got back to my room as the phone was ringing, I pi... Read more

This is a great small Inn close to everything we needed. The rooms are cozy with comfortable beds and furnishings. There are coffee makers and fridges to make the stay easy. The prices are very good and lobby staff helpful and friendly. When visiting Ottawa we will book there again.

Got this room for my boyfriend and I who needed some alone time away from roommates. The room was very nice, bed was comfy and everything seemed pretty clean! Would definitely return. Location is very good as well for travelers.

Cost performance is good. But I hope more clean room. I regret that couldn't eat breakfast because amount are not enough. I hope shower nozzle has flexibility because I felt to difficult to take a shower for my daughters.

This is essentially a motel with a grander name, but the price is right - the room was clean, the wi-fi surprisingly fast and the water hot. The walls are paper-thin though, the pillows are not particularly comfortable, and the electrical outlets are hidden behind the furniture. If price and convenience for the EY Centre or the airport are overriding considerations, it's worth considering, but BYOP (bring your own pillow) and earplugs. Tip - the rooms do not have irons/ironing boards, so make... Read more

We spent Canada Day in Ottawa and needed a place to sleep before heading for Toronto. So I booked this place through Ottawa tourism website, based on practicality and affordability. It served our needs well. However, avoid arriving there late - just to avoid that nasty man at the reception who will make your check-in so unpleasant and long, you won't even notice all the good sides... The good stuff: It is a motel but they have all you need in the rooms, a fridge, a microwave, a coffee-maker. The... Read more

It was a great stay, room was clean and the staff were friendly. I would stay again for sure! And it was a great location, off a busy road but easy to get to! The pressure for the shower was awesome too.

Stayed two nights and really liked the place. Office and cleaning staff friendly and helpful plus it was great value. Breakfast basic but all you need. Rooms clean and good shower. AC a bit noisy but once temp low can be turned off . Would not hesitate to go back to

Have stayed at this motel several times over the years, usually when attending family gatherings of people from out of town. Large tree covered lawn area excellent for socializing. Located within a few hundred yards of an intersection of major routes in all directions into and out of the city. Room had obviously been recently renovated, and although all the furniture had not been replaced, everything was spotless. The property was fully booked both nights but silence prevailed throughout, unl... Read more

I booked a two star motel through Booking.com for myself and mother. As the date got closer I checked Trip Advisor and noted it got 4 points from most. I wanted to add my "5" points to that. The place is clean, well kept grounds, many rooms and clean and well appointed. I loved the comfort of the king bed we had and great pillows. For a hundred(ish) bucks it was tremendous. Yes the "breakfast" was cereal or muffin and coffee but hey, that's what I usually have at home. If you need to be in the ... Read more

I had a room with a queen bed and a couch. The bed was very very comfortable!! The room was very clean and well stocked. There were plenty of towels and a fridge. The grounds were also well kept. The pictures online are spot on. There was a nice area under trees to sit in.

Excellent independent hotel. Excellent bed one of the cleanest rooms I have stayed in. Beautiful setting under the fir trees. You have to love the nostalgia of having an actual room key. If you want the pool fine dining room then is not the placce for you.

I stay once or twice a year and have done so for many years - nice quiet spot yet close to amenities such as Tim Horton's just North, McDonalds to the South....Downtown Ottawa not too far of a drive yet do not have to pay the Downtown prices for accommodation at this location..

The place is clean and surrounded by pretty trees - at least in the Fall. There are lots of surfaces to place luggage etc on, including a nice table and chair for laptop work. Short of plug-ins, a common problem, which is why we carry a power bar. There is a sofa bed in our unit which is actually possible to comfortably sit on and not sink out of sight. The bathroom sink has a large surface, again to set out your bathroom 'stuff'. The coffee machine has to be moved to where the plug in is locate... Read more

I have stayed at Rideau Heights many times. Its location is close to but not on a major intersection and so it provides easy accessibility to many areas of Ottawa. I like being able to drive right up to my room and unload easily. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The rooms, recently updated, are large, comfortable and clean. I appreciate having a good computer work space and a small refrigerator although wish it had a freezer section so I could keep the freezer packs for my cooler frozen. ... Read more

This was a really nice hotel. It was very clean, the staff were excellent, and I didn't have a problem with it being too loud. The breakfast was lackluster, but not any worse than any other hotel I've stayed at. Definitely good value for the money I paid

nice, clean, comfortable, motel just a bit south of Ottawa. It is priced reasonable and worth taking the drive into Ottawa daily from here. Ottawa hotels are VERY expensive. A close drive to restaurants and attractions.

My daughter and I came to Ottawa for the Carleton fall open house tours, so chose to stay at the Rideau Heights Inn. 24 years ago when I was a Carleton student my parents would stay here as it was so conveniently located to where I was living and the school. In the years that have passed, the little hotel is still a great place to stay if you are looking for a simple, clean and comfortable room. We had a room with 2 double beds and found the beds to be very comfortable. Even though the hotel was... Read more

I had to attend a business conference in Ottawa recently and wanted someplace to stay that was "cheap and cheerful", no fancy amenities, just quiet, clean and a good bed. The Rideau Heights did just that. I give them 4 stars for the quality with which they executed the concept of a value motel, not for the extent of the amenities. I would have given them 5 stars except I had a wrinkled shirt and there was no iron/ironing board in the room.
