We chose to stay at the Indigo during the May holiday weekend because of its location to Elgin Street and The By Ward Market. The staff were very friendly and helpful. All staff, from the desk staff to the housekeeping staff, were very friendly. The bar tender was also very nice to talk to. Whoever is doing the hiring and training is doing a great job. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The hotel is very quiet. I liked the Aveda toiletries in the bathroom. They are a good brand. The on... Read more

We couldn't ask for a hotel in a better location! Steps away from Parliament Hill, Confederation Park and a multitude of coffee shops! Rooms were extremely comfortable and clean. The underground parking was a bit confusing (two sets of elevators, stairs and a bit of a walk), especially since I was travelling with my mother who uses a cane, but we worked around it. Front desk staff was very friendly and amenable to any queries. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

We were in town for the marathon. The hotel is only a few steps from the start line. Only way to get close would be to camp out in the park. The pool made for a nice post-race relaxing float. The desk staff was very friendly, courteous and helpful.

Stayed at this Hotel for the Tamarack Marathon race Weekend. Very expensive for this time of the year but all hotels near the starting line are. Very well seated for the event. Everything is at a short walking distance. The expo (place to get our race number), Shopping Mall. Restaurant, Tim Horton, Starbucks coffee. There is an underground parking at 15$ per day. I also love that this hotel has no carpet but wood floor in each room. For allergic person like me, this is what to look for. ... Read more

Stayed at Hotel Indigo last week for a business trip. Was located in a central area of the city, convenient to get around. I went to check in but the hotel does not have valet parking. This was a bit of a pain, as they want you to park your car in temporary parking outside the hotel, run in and check in, then park in a nearby parking garage, and walk in with your bags (as there were no bellmen to help with the bags on the initial checking in). The inside of the hotel is nice. Clean and bright.... Read more

I enjoy staying this hotel. The room was clean and cost. The service was good as well as the breakfast. This hotel needs to renovate the air conditioning in the common area ( too noisy) and the breakfast area that needs more light.

This was our base for exploring Ottawa for two days and location wise it was perfect just a few minutes walk from Parliament hill. The welcome was good but the room was basic, I suppose you get what you pay for, the annoying thing was having to chase housekeeping for towels and toilet paper, and it was clear that the room had not been properly serviced.

This property has some history as it use to be the YMCA in Ottawa, but it has been transformed into a modern hotel. Great service, clean, quiet rooms and a very good restaurant. A refreshing change from the tired breakfasts offered at Holiday Inn Express.

I stayed at the Hotel Indigo in Downtown Ottawa for 4 nights while in town on business. The location of this hotel is why I chose it. It was less than a 3 minute walk to where I needed to be for the week. It also had a lot of food options around the area for me to visit during my stay. Walking into the hotel, the lobby was very nice. Check in was quick and easy. My room was on the 4th floor. Because of the design of the hotel, it can be a little noisy so just be aware of that. Our first time in this particular brand. We were very impressed. The tone was set when I was warmly greeted by Shirley - what a lovely lady. Later on I met Katie on reception - another smasher. Hotel Indigo should be proud of it's staff, they are wonderful. The hotel is ideally located and we found it very quiet even when it was busy. We managed to walk to most places. Car parking is an issue but no ideal solution presents. Just keep calm and follow the arrows!

This hotel has an excellent location, just 2 weeks away from the Parlament. We want to compliment Shirley and Clair who took care of our needs very efficiently. Stayed here on IHG points back in July for the first time and was somewhat underwhelmed. Don't get me wrong -- the rooms were tidy and the service was good -- and maybe it's unfair to compare this hotel to other nearby properties such as the Delta, Westin, or Residence Inn (which it is strangely attached to), but there was nothing that would compel me to come back, unless there were few other options. The room we had I'd say was smaller than average. Internet connectivity was spotty at best. Pa... Read more

Our room was quiet, well appointed, and comfortable. The location is excellent compared to the Delta. There were good restaurants just around the corner. Across the street from the Ottawa library if you need to kill some time. (There is a cheap bookstore in the basement) Breakfast was very nice with a good menu to order from rather than the usual buffet. Sadly, the hot tub was broken, but the ever helpful people at the desk arranged with the Lord Elgin to use their facilities. We were very pleas... Read more

My husband and I recently returned to Ottawa after a few years to celebrate our anniversary. Since our last visit this hotel's service has continued to thrive. The front desk we found to be exceptional---a special thank you to Sophie and Shirley for their "goodies" ,kindness, patience , and smiles. The rooms are immaculate, beds super comfortable, and the location is great. The only downside is the parking garage which is a bit of a nightmare to navigate. Thank you again to this wonderful staff ... Read more

Just stayed here for one night recently. The location is great and the rooms are quite nice and modern, also very clean. The staff was also friendly and polite and the check-in and check-out process was quick and easy. My only minor complaint about this hotel was the bed. It was hard and squeaky. The pillows were also sponge and not very comfortable. Considering the price of the room I would have expected a better bed but I still had a pleasant stay.

The staff in this hotel were 100% friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was comfortable, clean and refreshing. The rooms had a feeling of being at home and there was no external noises coming from hallway noise, other guests, etc. I would definitely stay here again and also recommend it to friends, family and other people looking for a hotel in Ottawa, Ontario.

So, the room was ok, internet was ok, they have flavored water, bath products were ok (they dont have shower gel, but soap). But..I found a disgusting toe nail in the bathroom (stepped on it) and the sheets on the bed were kind of torn). The set up is kind of weird. Our room was facing the inside of the hotel/lobby. The windows, obviously did not open and we had to keep the curtains always on. The parking is weird too (you walk in the hotel from the parking lot through Marriott lobby).

This hotel is conveniently located on the edge of two important areas: Elgin Street, with its multitude of eateries, and the Parliament district with its many museums, great walks and spectacular views of the Ottowa River. Check-in was a little tricky -- there is no dedicated 'drive-up' area, so you must rely on the availability of the drop-off area in front of the hotel. Parking is not easily accessed either -- we had to drive around the block (in rush hour traffic) to park at a garage in ... Read more

Many of the best restaurants in Ottawa are also within walking distance. The hotel is very nicely kept and the staff are friendly. This place was fine but nothing special in any way. The rooms were basic, beds comfortable, and the service generally capable, with the exception of the restaurant, where it was glacially slow (despite the fact that only 2-3 tables were occupied both times I was there). The wifi was fast but they have an annoying system requiring re-entry of a complicated password every day.
