This hotel is new (newly renovated) and from the lobby to the rooms all have been overhauled and is brand new. The lobby has a lot of open space and is welcoming, staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms have been overhauled as well will marble counter tops in the bathroom nice big mirror, new carpet etc... Not your typical Holiday inn, it's an upgrade to others I have stayed at before.

I lived here for 2 nights during the exam in June 2016. The place is very close to La Cite. It only takes 7 minutes to arrive La Cite. The room is quiet. Decent in hotel resturant. Just eat in the hotel. Easy parking. Close to highway. Recommend to those who take exam at La Cite. I lived here for 2 nights during the exam in June 2016. The place is very close to La Cite. This is a very middle of the road hotel. It is well located - close to a mall and transit. Odds are you're a government employee staying here and need to get to the numerous government offices nearby in a short amount of time. Don't worry, you can walk. The rooms are spacious and clean, standard fare for a Holiday Inn. The bathtubs drain very slowly. The air conditioner is a loud thing that is loud and if you shut it off, you'll wish you hadn't - not because it is warm but because it covers up... Read more

I recently stayed at the newly updated Holiday Inn Ottawa East. The new ownership by Holiday Inn totally turned the old Chimo Hotel around! The lobby area is now very modern and welcoming. The rooms and the furniture were completely updated. The rooms are spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The restaurant is pretty good and very accommodating if you want to take any food to your room. The hotel is located next to a major shopping mall, and you can find several options of restaurants within a ... Read more

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights in May. The hotel staff were friendly and we did not have any problems during our stay. The hotel is close to a shopping centre (I did not have time to check it out) and is right off the highway. It takes less than 10 minutes to drive to downtown Ottawa from this hotel. There is also a food basics and dollarama close by- 3 min drive from the hotel. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The room had a mini-fridge, a keurig coffee machine and m... Read more

I love staying at Holiday Inns. I love that most are laid out similar and this always adds to my level of comfort. This hotel was right off the high way, directly across from a very large shopping centre, and has recently been renovated and updates. Staying on my own, I found the area perfect to travel to as well as easy to shop and eat. The new rooms were clean and comfortable and my room had a great view. There wasn't a single staff member I saw who did not say hello or ask how my day was... Read more

Staying at the Holiday Inn I was blown away. I suppose I wasn't expecting much knowing it just switched over from a lower brand hotel, I expected a lot of things still being lower end. But no, they have redone everything from the floors, walls, facilities, etc. Beds were SO comfortable. Everything was immaculate and inviting, everywhere. Staff were friendly and helpful, whenever I needed anything. I never had to wait at the desk to be noticed or get help. The restaurant, Reza's, was awful. Foo... Read more

This hotel once again made my vacation experience enjoyable. It has everything you need and the Staff was outstanding. Every question was answered and we were even given the name and location of a great restaurant for dinner. Top notch!

We had a good stay, the hotel is nice and modern. However I have never experienced such rude miserable staff at a hotel. The woman talked to you as if you were an idiot, very snarky answers to anything my mom and I asked her. I was not impressed and do not appreciate being talked down to. I can't remember her name for sure, the only name coming to mind is Linda so maybe that's it, she's an older woman. On the plus side, the hotel is in a good location, there's a large mall directly across the st... Read more

If you are in Ottawa for business or pleasure - perfect hotel as it is just off the highway, across the street from St. Laurent shopping center which features a 24 hour goodlife fitness and next door to Lonestar restaurant. Plenty of free parking and nicely decorated and clean - this is my go to hotel.

I was in Ottawa with family for sightseeing. The place is very close to Parliament hill , Aviation museum etc. It has many places to eat very closeby. Please dont let the exterior pictures fool you. THe hotel is fully renovated inside and is very (VERY) neat and clean. Parking was free. Breakfast options can get much better . There is usually no microwave in the room, but, the hotel was kind enough to give me one upon request.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for three nights. It's easily accessible from highway 417 and St. Laurent shopping center is cross the street. Several restaurants and grocery stores are nearby. The walk to downtown takes about 80 minutes for those who don't mind it. You can also take bus 7 to downtown and back right from street in front of the hotel. A bus transfer station is also close by. The hotel looks fairly new or renovated recently. The rooms are spacious and clean. Lots of park... Read more

Staff are pleasant and helpful. Location is handy for highway access. Room is nice, clean, spacious with quiet a/c. The wifi connection was constantly dropping, very frustrating when trying to work. I booked the room with breakfast included, this only covers one specific item on the menu. Not a major issue, just makes the deal seem a but slick. Would stay again for a night for work.

Much better than expected - this is the old Chimo Inn. But this was very reasonably priced, close to downtown via the main highway, across from a mall. Not beautiful, but the room was very comfortable - better than some more expensive hotels we have stayed at. Few to no vegetarian choices on the room service menu, and they messed up with our order.

Newly renovated hotel, with more reno work on going. Formerly known as "Chimo" hotel. CHECK IN/OUT Reasonably quick and very simple. Destination fee and sustainability fee added per night. Staff friendly and helpful. ROOM Brand new. Modern and clean, white linen so you know they care about cleanliness. No in-room fridge. Room was tidied and supplies re-stocked between nights (stayed 2 nights). Great service. BATHROOM 9/10 for cleanliness...above average. Bathtub drains very slowly. ... Read more

Full disclosure: I'm an IHG rewards member and booked this hotel stay on points. Room on the 6th floor. Easily the worst Holiday Inn stay I've had in years. Strike 1: the noise...both from inside and outside. The room a/c is the old through wall style with no speed control. The fan comes on with 2 loud snaps and blows like a hurricane waking us every time. Attempts to raise the temperature a degree or two appeared to turn the unit off. Voices from the parking lot, six floors down, were so loud ... Read more

The restaurant is great and offers a variety of good food as well as Lone Star is next door! The location of the hotel works really well for easy access to downtown and a large mall is close by! Check in time is 3pm. We arrived around 3:15 pm. At first, we were happy to have been upgraded to a suite, but didn't know that would imply having to wait and wait and wait... We were informed that the suite was not ready yet. The front desk lady (who was always polite) talked with housekeeping to see when it would be ready and we were told to wait 20 minutes. After that, I asked if it was ready and no, it wasn't... was gonna take another 5 minutes. All the time, we had to wait in the lobby and... Read more

I was staying in Ottawa for a high-level government meeting. Having booked 21 rooms, I was shocked to find only 10 had actually been reserved. That weekend was particularly busy and there were few rooms in Ottawa left, much less 11. This hotels idea of resolving the issue was to put us in the University of Ottawa campus housing. It was, in a word, disgusting. The next night we returned (the unfortunate 11) and we were given rooms. The above set aside for a minute, the hotel is on the East si... Read more

The hotel has been very tastefully refurbished, my room was large well appointed and comfortable. Sadly the restaurant is disappointing and lets the place down. That said this is probably the most comfortable Holiday Inn I have stayed at in a very long while. The hotel is just outside the centre of the city but it is a very short commute. Opposite the hotel there is a very large shopping mall.

I visited Ottawa and stayed in this hotel whilst on a business trip. Whilst the rooms were of good standard (I was on the top floor with an excellent panoramic view into Downtown with a fridge), I can only say that I was disappointed by the hotel restaurant. The hotel looks new brand new on the inside. as do the rooms. They are spacious and clean with modern finishes. The gym is a little small but has new equipment and I never waited for a machine. But ... The only reason I am writing this review is that the front desk and kitchen staff went out of their way to provide me with liquid dish detergent so I could wash my son's hockey team's water bottles after each game. They even brought it to my room! Who does this? Thanks!

A pair of $200 shoes went missing from our room. They were there in the AM when we left and when we came back in the evening they were missing. This stay was planned as part of travel around the eastern part of Canaca and we choose to stay here because we would visit Ottawa. The possibility to reach the hotel from Montreal and away from it towards Toronto. Our stay were pleasent with friendly staff and nice room even though part of the hotel was under refurbishment. Only the breakfast buffet we think could be a lot better with adding different kind of bread to the selection.

This used to be known as the Chimo Hotel until they sold the property to the Holiday Inn group who proceeded to do some minor renovations around the property. I'm pretty sure they changed all the beds because these were pretty comfortable. Room decor is pretty much the same as the Chimo. from a property layout perspective, I noticed they moved the bar into the space where the restaurant used to be and now it serves as both. By the way, the bar maid is rude and unpleasant. If you're looking fo... Read more
