Stayed here for a few nights on a work trip. Pros : walking distance to Sobeys, pubs, restaurants etc. Bed was comfortable. Had TV in living room and bedroom. Did not have construction noise. Cons: nothing really bad but outdated. Low on the toiletries (shampoo and soap), kitchen had bare bones...just 2 forks, 2 spoons etc (no dishwasher). There was a breakfast included but not my style (some apples, oranges, muffins, bags of oatmeal). Also, I think some people actually live here full-time? ... Read more

Just back from a three night stay at this hotel. The location is great, you are able to walk to most tourist attractions, a couple of good restaurants close by. Breakfast is included in your stay, which consists of waffles, cereal, pastries, coffee, fruit, etc. Having a suite is nice because of the separate living/bedroom area, and the kitchen facilities, we were able to make some meals in to save money. However it is not a fully stocked kitchen, limited dishes, cutlery, pots and pans. I was d... Read more

Excellent central location, quiet street, clean and well-appointed rooms. Breakfast bar well-appointed although it could be improved a little. The sofa bed was too firm for one of us, so we suggested the hotel offer mattress toppers. The throttled free wi-fi was a small sour note.

This hotel is in a perfect location. Just steps to Elgin street and all its restaurants and bars. 20 min walk to Byward Market, 10 mins to Parliment and right up the street from the Rideau Canal. It's certainly not in the same class as some of the higher end hotels in the city, but the rooms are comfortable and there's tons of space. The gym is so-so. It has a decent universal, but no dumbbells. There's plenty of space in the room, so hopefully they add these at some point. I opted to tak... Read more

We stayed at the Extended Stay for 2 days for the race week-end. We choose this one because it was close from the race site. The room was clean and the staff was nice. There's a breakfast included. We found the room too expensive for what was included as they don't do the room except if you pay a 10$ extra. You have to ask for towels and toilet paper at the front desk. We also payed 28$ directly at the hotel for the parking. However, we have been charged an other 8$ at the gate, and we din't k... Read more

Stayed here last summer for a day thinking it wouldn't be anything special, but i was far from wrong. This hotel was NEARLY PERFECT for its price. Now, it may not be a 4-star hotel, but it sure acts like one. The decor in the entire hotel is modern and up to date, and is located in a nice area of Ottawa, maybe 5 or 6 blocks to the city centre and is in a quiet, safe location. There is no parking lot, but they include vouchers to park for free across the street and nearby. The room itself is ni... Read more

I stayed here for 1 night. I paid about $15.82 for parking at the hotel. Even though there is a parking garage right next to it, they made me park in the City Hall underground parking garage. On the map it looks like it's 1 block away. But the walk is like 3 blocks. The room is outdated. The hallway is kind of narrow and the escalator looks old and needs paint. I was disappointed with the free breakfast. It consisted of cereals, milk, waffle, bagels (no sour cream), muffins, coffee, jams... Read more

When it comes to knowing how to treat guests, Extended Stay is top notch. Great location, pay parking available inside and outside. Hotel is clean, rooms are nice, furniture a bit dated but the bed very comfortable. Continental breakfast is OK do it yourself waffles a bonus. But the best part was having the pleasure dealing with Karolina and Kris at the front desk. I will be definitely returning here again .

I was put there for work, usually hotels I stay at clean daily. This hotel does a quick clean mid week, which means fresh towels and garbage so emptied. Then they do a more deeper clean a few days after that. The rooms have a full fridge and stove with a few dishes for you to use. The hotel has a continental breakfast, get there early as they run out of things quickly. They have limited parking and it is tight, remember to lock your car as mine was locked and got broken into. This is an apartment building turned into hotel. Great for our family of 4 - we could make our own meals, full size refridgerator. 2 beds in the bedroom, pullout sofa. 1 tiny bathroom. Great location, 4 blocks to Parliament Hill, so we were able to walk everywhere. Lots of restaurants and fast food in the area, also a grocery store, pharmacy & dollar store. If you are travelling with a roof rack, call in advance to reserve an outdoor parking spot. Good for a family on a budget.

Great location very central and walkable. Everything you need in your suite. Small bathroom and no dishwasher only complaints. Bed comfy, sofa comfy, large balcony. Front desk staff very accommodating. Not a lot of parking. Provide breakfast in am, but mostly carbs and no proteins as other hotels are moving to. But, you can cook your own. Price for downtown was excellent.

Really outdated décor, breakfast needs to be improved, elevators are REALLY slow, and small. Cleanliness is not a priority, had to park our van in a tiny garage below the building. When we opened the sofa bed, it still had the linen from the last guests that were there, plus wash cloths, and pizza toppings. The best thing about this hotel is the location, within walking distance to the Parliament, restaurants, and shopping.

On Reception "Monsour" is the best, that's the second time I stayed and both times he greeted me with smile, always give info about things happening in Ottawa.. Breakfast is fresh coffee, tea, waffles, muffins and a lot of fruits... Love that hotel and always stay and will stay there....

Positive : We booked this hotel with Hotwire for less than 90$/night and we appreciate it. Hotel is well located in the center of all activities you can do in Ottawa, room was comfortable and clean. It's a good 3 star hotel and I recommend it. Negative : Very slow and small elevators (2), small parking, I recommend to park at the City Hall.

Stayed in April 2016, forgot to write review until now. Front desk staff were incredibly rude and pushy and intolerant. Loved the location, walking distance to all the downtown attractions and shopping. Parked in the secure underground parking lot, and did not have to use the car till it was time to leave. The hotel used to be an apartment building so it was spacious. Had a separate siting area and little kitchen. Was only staying one night but if staying longer only having two bowls, plates, etc would have got annoying. It's a clean one bedroom apartment with plenty of closet space. None of us are capable to pack light and there was enough room for our luggage. My only concern is that the walls are thin. Decent enough kitchen area , but very few utensils to actually make a meal , two knives/spoons/forks/plate/cups and not much else. Did manage to cook a pan... Read more

We found this little gem at the last minute online. I booked it thinking it was a different place downtown. I know the area well and had never noticed it. We booked for Bluesfest I would totally recommend for either Bluesfest or Ottawa Race Weekend. It's beside city hall. GREAT location. Clean and really basic location with limited parking (we parked on the street-no problem) and there this back up somewhere close. Full kitchen (clean, we didn't have a chance to use) and plenty of room for 2 cou... Read more

Was here while renovations being done at home, I can only say adequate, grungy, clean enough but just. Noisy, hotel staff not very attentive to noisy neighbours, smoking in non smoking units, rowdyness in hallways late at night. It was cheap and close by...I would not recommend this unless you really had to stay here...there are much better accommodations across the street. I think this is one of the hotels where they train new staff...not really impressed. Continental breakfast laughable. But i... Read more

Very friendly staff. Pet friendly and very large suite style hotel rooms for an affordable price. (compared to other suite style hotels in the area). Right downtown. Walking distance to Rideau Canal and major shopping and eating locations. Elgin street is right around the corner, and Byward market is a nice walk about 15 mins through the scenic canal.

Everything about this property is a bit dated. The appliances, the furniture, and the fixtures. The taps in our room were beyond noisy, I could play tunes on them by running the cold water and adjusting the tone by changing the flow of the hot water. It was loud enough to wake others at night. Underground parking is very tight, even for small vehicles. Location is very handy however and price is reasonable for what you get.

I enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is on a quiet street and a very short walk away from several decent restaurants, fast food places and a 24hr shop. It also has a Dollarama very close for those cheap kitchen essentials. The nearby Sobeys, on Lisgar Street, has a good selection of groceries and staples along with a very nice hot/cold food bar as well as a handy coffee bar and small liquor shop. There are nearby attractions and the Museum of Nature is an easy walk away. The local shopping centre i... Read more

We stayed overnight at this hotel after attending a family event. We had 3 rooms, all of which were pretty similar-- clean, spacious, while a bit dated. It was a busy weekend and there were two people pretty much running the Front Desk and every other requests from guests-- so much patience needed if in a similar weekend. Good location, about 20 minutes walk to the Old Town/Centre/ shopping mall. We were traveling with elderly adults and this was a challenging distance for them. Beware. Parkin... Read more

My wife and I brought our daughter and grandsons down for a visit so we needed a place for 5 to stay. This place offered a two bedroom plus sofa bed and full kitchen for a reasonable price which included breakfast. Like most downtown Ottawa location, parking is extra ($14 per day) but gives you access to the parking lot under city hall. If you have been spoiled with Residence Inn or Minto Place like we have you may be disappointed with the small size of the unit and only one bathroom but for wha... Read more

If you're looking for something cheap and downtown, this hotel is a winner. If you're looking for somewhere with the thinnest walls of any hotel I've ever stayed in, with paper thin, cardboard sheets, and dirty showers, stay here. I'm not picky and the hotel did the trick in a pinch but I wouldn't stay again

I've been travelling to Ottawa pretty often for the last couple of weeks, and I was looking for a place that had a central location, and that was conveniently close to downtown, however, this place exceeded my expectations, from the beginning you are greeted by awesome people that make you feel welcome!, you have free breakfast included, and the location is great, near to nice restaurants and minutes away from downtown. I strongly recommend this place, especially if you are planning on staying f... Read more

A typical Extended Stay hotel. Great value for money if you are staying for a while and want to cook your own food. Excellent location with lot of attractions and good restaurants nearby for eating out. Friendly front-desk staff. There was a lot of noise during the day due to the housekeeping staff banging the doors and throwing stuff around. Their late checkout policy was a bit strict but they do have a luggage storage which helped. If you happen to stay here, try Johnny Farina and SconeWitch n... Read more

Amazing location worth onsite parking that was very convenient. Beautiful clean and spacious room with separate living area and kitchen. Ask for a high floor as views are gorgeous. Staff are incredible especially front desk staff.

We had to arrive late in the evening and were accommodated. Our friends (in another room) had to bring their boarder collie with them at the last minute and were accommodated. We had an over sized vehicle to park and were accommodated. We wanted to have rooms close to our friends and (even with the "pet" room last minute change) we were accommodated. MJL

We didn't specifically choose this hotel, it was chosen for us by Hotwire.Com. We chose the area we wanted to stay in, and left it up to chance, what the mystery hotel was going to be. We were on the 11th floor, and maybe because heat rises, it was unbearably hot in our apartment so we had to put the air conditioning on. Water pressure was low, but we made do. I don't know if a lower floor would have made a difference in these things, or it was the fact that we paid so little through Hotwire, I ... Read more

House keeping only every three days is not acceptable. That meant no clean towels, or glasses, only one small pot of coffee for one of the three days. That wouldn't have been a big deal had the breakfast been adequate but it wasn't. No coffee in the lobby/ breakfast area after 9:30am and none early in the morning, not one piece of fresh fruit, did I want chocolate chip muffins or chocolate chip muffin? zero selection when I was there, did I want an English muffin or white bread? did I want Colum... I was only here for a night. It was a little pricier than I thought, but the location was great, I found street parking which helps save $16 City Hall pricing. Comfy bed, the wifi was good, shower and bathroom clean. The carpet was a little dingy and the elevator small and not the cleanest. But overall a good night stay. I didn't get a chance to walk around the area, but on my drive in and out I noticed it is so close to great restaurants, Rideau Centre and Byward Market that I wish I could've s... Read more

This hotel is trying its best, but coming up short. I stayed for two consecutive 5 day stints, each in a different wing, and only because a conference I was attending was being held there - so it was obviously convenient. The walls in both are paper thin, and for some reason the clientele seem to be exuberant. In my east-wing room the water from all sources in the bathroom was warm. Shower, both taps of the sink, and even the toilet bowl - just warm. No hot, no cold. There was no electrical outl... Read more

I regularly use Hotwire to find a hotel when I am travelling for work, keeping one eye on making sure I‚??m in an area of town close to the office I‚??m visiting and the other on ensuring a reasonable price for adequate accommodation. In this case, the offer of a one bedroom suite with kitchenette and breakfast included, all at a price that was less than a rundown motel, was too good to pass up. The room was plain but very spacious and the furniture comfortable and in good condition. When I firs... Read more
