So, getting to the hotel am told there is a 5 hour wait before my room can be accessed, because 'those are the rules' which is always the shield for particularly in effective customer service. Eventually, an hour or so later one of them comes up with the bright idea of getting the room cleaned. Why did I have to shout to get this simple, obvious thing sorted out??? Next the internet is so intermittent as to make it absolutely useless. ITS 2017? Then the gym, only open at certain times? Wh... Read more

This was our second time staying at Brookstreet, both times we have stayed because of major events going on at the Canadian Centre. The hotel itself is very nice and great location. Upon arrival we saw they offer a shuttle but says you request it when you check in. The first time we got there before check in time (4pm) the shuttle was already full but the guy at the front desk upgraded our room to a suite for the inconvenience. The next time we checked in at 3:00 pm an HOUR before check in time,... Read more

We've stayed at this hotel a number of times over the last 10 years or so. Generally we've been pleased. We live in Ottawa so our stays have always been a way to get away without leaving town. Our 2 night stay on the 1st & 2nd January 2017 was not as good as we've grown expect. The room and view, as always, was very good. However there were too many other things that took away from the getaway experience. 1. Despite making an online reservation, we were told that the restaurant was not open that... Read more

The Brookstreet is our favourite hotel in the Ottawa area when we are looking for weekend or evening away from home. We have stayed here several times for everything from an anniversary, NYE, a Senators Game night and even when we have friends visiting from out of town. The staff, amenities, and the food (def the best wings in the NCR) are all terrific. We would recommend the Brookstreet to anyone who does not need to be downtown.

Had a two night stay there recently. Had never stayed there before and given the price of the rooms I was expecting a lot more then what we got. The rooms were exceptionally small. Felt very cramped. There are many hidden fees that you will be charged with that were not explained to me when I booked and found the hotel staff rude when I inquired about it. Security staff and restaurant staff also rude. The pool was a hassle to get to and found it to be a small area. Will never stay at this hotel ... Read more

I was incredibly pleased with this hotel. The staff were so pleasant, and the room was perfect. It was comfortable, and laid out in a way to get maximum use of the space without feeling crowded at all. Everything was immaculate, clean and very well maintained. I could not fault a thing. The room was also extraordinarily quiet. I did not hear a thing from the corridor or other rooms at all. We travelled with our dog, and arrived rather late, so elected to order room service for dinner. The... Read more

What a great girls night away. Did some shopping. Then right to the hot tub. Manicures, pedicures, and massages. A glass of wine or two. A great dinner in the hotel restaurant. Back to the hot tub and salt water pool. Beds were very comfortable. Sleep well. Room was very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. They are doing some construction but didn't affect us at all. Heading back next year.

We did the weekend getaway for couples. It was fine. The room was very nice and well appointed. The Muskoka chairs on the balcony are a nice touch. The bed was heavenly. I was hoping for more from Perspectives Restaurant. I'm not sure what the vision is. The dining room layout is superb, but why the birch? The lighting should be dimmed for dinner and please, lose the Muzak (too loud and cheesy). The table d'hôte menu was hit and miss. The wine selection was excellent. The morning brunch was... I stayed at the facility for a conference. This is a busy hotel that has some very good conference facilities. 2 observations. This hotel seems to cater to the hockey tournament set. Be prepared for busy elevators and some waits. Because it is so busy, the reception for the check- in and out is busy also. The hotel should consider structuring the check in line rather than leaving it to the "strongest survive".
