As a frequent visitor to Ottawa on business I always stay at the Beacon Hill Motel. Located on Montreal Rd. in the city's east end, the Beacon Hill is close to shopping, museums, restaurants, and within minutes driving time to downtown Ottawa. The over 30 units are neat, clean, comfortable, recently upgraded, and easily among the most affordable in town. Ample free parking, friendly staff, kitchenettes include refrigerator and microwave, also cable, free wifi and local calling. Bill

This is how motels should be. You drive up, get good service and a nice snack for breakfast. It is not expensive but clean and traditional. I will go back in my next trip. In a busy city where every place is well over $100 a night it is certainly nice to find a good bed in a clean room with TV and kitchen to be comfortable for less.

This is an old motel that's had a pretty good refresh. Is it perfect? No. But is it great value for a place to crash? You bet. I was in Ottawa to move my kid's stuff out of residence and needed a place to sleep. Check-in was painless and I got a free bag of chips and a Coke. How can you complain about that, especially when you consider how cheap this place is? Like I said this place is old. I remember it from when I lived in Ottawa in the 70's. The rooms are MOTEL rooms - small/compact/cozy... Read more
