We just loved the view from this waterfront hotel, was is close proximity to everything. The hotel was nice and clean and lots of food at breakfast, although it was very crowded. The pool was also nice. Would definitely stay here again!

Good bathroom with great shower . Helpful staff . Location isn't great but not bad . Free and very good wifi . $20 per night for parking is too much . Very nice hot breakfast ( free) .

Stayed at this hotel one night while in Halifax and even better than expected! Brand new hotel, updated and nice rooms, friendly staff, close parking and they let us stay later in the lot for touring during the day. Hot breakfast was good but not exceptional but nice it was included. Very close to downtown and waterfront. Would stay again for sure.

We always ask for a room away from the ice machines and elevators, and we got a wonderful end room with windows on two sides. It was roomy and comfortable and really very clean and tidy. The breakfast was fine, but not exceptional. The staff was very friendly, and since we didn't have a car, the location is great for walking the city. One complaint, which goes beyond the Hampton. We didn't know when we booked that there was a big marathon that weekend. No one, except the delta Halifax seem... Read more

I gave it 2 star only for location. The hotel service is really bad. I called lobby 4 times for coffee and it never reached. went downstairs myself and they said it has to be delivered to the room and still it was only cups and creamer, no coffee. The Breakfast sucks. Its hot but tasted old. No microwave in suite when even 2-3 star hotels have it. Rooms were clean though.

This hotel seems to be brand new. It is in great condition, everything clean and fresh. Located steps from the Citadel and the Scotiabank Centre. Also you can simply walk down any of the streets to get to the waterfront. For the walk back up the hill you can take the pedway from the Casino, it ends up right across the street from the Hampton Inn. Perfect if you struggle with the hills as it uses escalators not steps. We were in Halifax for a family event. Chose to stay in the Hampton to have enough room for all. We were very pleased by our experience. Room was very nice, beds tremendous. Enjoyed the breakfast each morning and friendly staff. Gym was an added bonus. Good equipment, clean, good options for a hotel gym. Will make a point of looking for Hampton Inns for future trips. Halifax is a lovely city and we needed a hotel near the Harbour, but we are also "frugal" travelers. We picked Hampton Inn by Hilton Downtown because of its proximity to the Harbour and many popular sites and its cost effective pricing that includes a breakfast. We had a room with a view of the Harbour (and you could actually see the Harbour) with 2 queen beds. The room was spacious, well maintained, and very comfortable. We certainly made a excellent choice by staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites, downtown Halifax. The location is excellent, the rooms very comfortable and parking was sufficient. We did not know Halifax downtown was located on a hill. This hotel is closer to the top of the hill near the Halifax citadel. It is walking distance to the downtown core and harbor. However it is a good workout to walk to downtown and back to the hotel. We liked the workout! In our room it was possible to open a small window to let the fresh air in. My sister and I stayed at the hotel for three nights. It is in a great location and the staff are friendly and helpful. On the downside, the breakfast is just so-so, they ran out of yogurt all three mornings I went there for breakfast and there is clearly an issue with the elevators. It seemed like one was out of service for most of our visit or the elevators are insufficient for the size of the hotel.

This hotel is fairly new and it was a very nice, quiet, and clean room. The breakfast is just ok. It's in a great location within easy walking distance to most of the popular sites. They do have a parking garage, but also they recommend a parking lot nearby which is only $10 a night to use. The rooms have safes which are not available at some of the higher priced hotels in the area.

We stopped for one night, for one quick visit of Halifax on our tour of the Atlantic provinces. Room was clean and breakfast was great (one of the nicest free breakfast option I saw on our trip). Great location in modern hotel. Room was modern, and comfy. View towards harbour from 16th floor was terrific. Breakfast included, but they use paper plates and plastic cutlery. Great new building and great accommodation, bedrooms large, airy and extremely comfortable. Staff pleasant and helpful. However catering is restricted to a perfunctory breakfast; plastic cups, plates and spoons, a very limited choice of poor quality food in an inadequately small breakfast room where guests have often to wait for space at a table. My husband and I are Hilton Diamond members and have been for many, many years. All that means is we have stayed in a lot of Hilton properties and spend A LOT OF $$$$$$$$$$$. With that being said I'll tell you about this property. It's a lovely building, e location is ok. Not great but not terrible either. For a city, the parking was not an issue for us, and that is a big deal. The issue for us was a poorly managed group of employees and a manager who lacks the skills to offer quality ser... Read more

The breakfast was better than at other hotels I have stayed at in relation to the hot choices. The downside to this great hotel is the elevators. There are only two for a hotel that has 16 floors.
