This is a nice and very welcoming hotel, located very near the centre of Niagara on the Lake. Rooms are large and comfortable and mine had a lovely fireplace. It is a really good solution for a conference, much more personal than the standard conference centre and beautifully located. The hotel is a little "tired": old carpets throughout, old bathrooms etc and would really benefit from a lift up. And food was ok but not spectacular, with drinks at the bar a struggle, including pretty bad local... Read more

My husband and I spent 2 nights at the Pillar and Post. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary, my husband's retirement and trying to escape from the bugs where we live in Muskoka. We felt welcome from the moment that we arrived. The meals were delicious and the people very friendly. We especially enjoyed the cycling to Niagra Falls and the use of the pool.

The hotel is beautiful with a comfortable bed - they even put a rose on your pillow each night! They have a heated outside pool which was nice and we also enjoyed our breakfast and dinner at the restaurant. The bar area is great too - the bartender remembered me from the night before and the specialty drink I had ordered. We needed a taxi to get around and the employee at the front desk called a taxi for us. They are a bit pricey, but it was worth it!

Running a high-profile wedding blog and with literally hundreds of weddings planned, I have gushed and raved about the Pillar and Post property (as well as all Vintage Hotels sister properties) for years. This past weekend, my very own partner in crime had a big surprise for me - and after hearing me rave about this property, chose it to be the scene of HIS crime. Imagine my complete shock and surprise when my favourite human handed me a sparkling ring, heart-clenching words, and an evening pl... Read more

Whether you are in town for Shaw or just a wander around, this is a terrific alternative to the more central hotels and B&Bs. Tucked into a residential neighbourhood, you are spared the congestion and noise of Queen Street but it's a short walk to everything through a pretty area. The property is lovely. Lots of gardens and a very nice courtyard where we sat out late and shared some local wine. There is a pool, spa and hot springs, if you're planning to stay a while. The rooms are ok. We staye... The resort is very large. I am handicapped and unless you pay extra for a deluxe suite, they do not have walk in showers - just bath tub with showers. The deluxe king room that we had was very comfortable but not spectacular in any way The ceilings were low. It was a really long walk to the lobby. My husband and I stayed at the Pillar and Post Inn for one night. It was the night before his 50km race. The start line was a 5 minute walk away. The hotel is beautiful, offering many amenities staff are super friendly. We parked out car and walked everywhere. The only thing that was a little disappointing was we didn't realize the spa was included with the cost of our room and we did not bring any appropriate wear. Too bad. Next time I know to ask.

The dinner was not up to the standards of the past. I ordered the Roast beef dinner and found the baked potato small and over done. The Yorkshire was weak, dry and not worth putting on the plate. There was a large portion of fatty meat that did not taste well. They need to revisit the head chef role and his/her team. I would pass on eating here until the quality vastly improves.

We had gone to this hotel many years ago and it was fabulous. This trip was nice but not as new and pristine as our last visit years ago. Although there had been a lot of renovations since we had been there, it felt more big hotel feel compared to the unique small town hotel of days gone by. That being said we were happy with our room which had a king size bed and an updated bathroom. The bathroom however was very small and not enough space to comfortable move around. If you can overlook the smaller and very basic rooms (really basic), then you'll love the spa and in house restaurant. A very cool ambiance of the outdoor brought indoors at the pool, and relaxing place overall. Great food (the Cannery), pools, and hot springs plus spa/massages. Beautiful place. Amazing breakfast. Only issue I has was our room was damp and the ac was not strong enough to pull the moisture out of the room and the bathroom does not have a exhaust fan. I need to mention we had the outdoor rooms which probably doesn't help and they look like old rooms compared to the rest of the hotel. The spa is amazing. The pools and hot spring is fantastic.
