This was the only vintage hotel I had not yet visited so we decided to give it a try. Everything about our stay was average or less - other than the location and the shuttle service to the other properties. I have been a huge fan of the vintage hotel chain for many years so it pains me to have had such a disappointing stay, and to write this review. Our premium room was located outside of the main building, accessed through an exterior walkway under a rather tacky yellow awning. When we finally... Read more

What a beautiful weekend get a way! We decided to visit Niagara -on-the-lake just before Christmas. Knowing that it would have plenty to offer and a change from summer time for sure. We were not disappointed. We chose the Prince of Wales with it's perfect location for walking downtown. Our room was a king sweet and it was so comfortable we found it hard to leave. The furnishings were comfortable and the fireplace just held you there. Heated bath towels, robes, deep tub, wonderful king size bed..... Read more

Usually when you get these old grand hotels the rooms are either dated, or small. This hotel was neither. Although furnished with antiques in keeping with the hotels age, the rooms were clean, comfortable, and did not seem dated. The hotel itself is gorgeous, and the bar area is not to be missed. For a trip to NOTL the location can really not be beat as this hotel is the definition of the center of town.

We stayed in an expensive suite over the Labour Day weekend. The room was spacious but very outdated, even factoring in the "old" feel. Something needs to be done about shabby upholstery, carpets and pigeon poop soiled windows. No balcony even in a suite - not cool. Complimentary bottles of wine were cheap, and the white was not cold. We enjoyed the Sunday brunch buffet, however the wait for coffee was really long. Yes, it was a busy weekend, but factoring in the price, this was not five-star se... Read more

The location was outstanding, decor beautiful, service excellent and overall value incredible. The separate food and refreshment foyer just outside the actual meeting room was also outstanding for minimizing the interruptions that occur at most other venues where food and refreshments are served directly in the room.

I booked my clients an overnight stay at the Prince of Wales Hotel in early December. They brought a small group of their staff to Niagara-on-the-Lake for an end of year celebration. The group rates for the accommodation at Prince of Wales were very reasonable and offered excellent value. The service the group received was exemplary. They had a small meeting and were very pleased with Banquet Services for their coffee break and minor AV requirements. The group enjoyed drinks in Churchill Lo... Read more

My daughter and I spent three wonderful days at the Prince of Wales. Our awesome experiences started right from the time we booked our excursion through to checkout. During our stay we enjoyed High Tea, had aromatherapy massages, relaxed in the pool and hot tub and enjoyed dinner at Tiara. Every single interaction with employees of this inn was very professional and highly attentive. The food was suburb - especially at Tiara. Our experience there was enhanced by our waiter Courtney. We wi... Read more

We escaped here for a few days Christmas break, and overall were satisfied. The front desk staff are exceptional! They are pleasant, helpful, cheerful -- and refreshing! The hotel, on the other hand, may be teetering on the edge of a downfall. We've stayed here a few times before, and the last time (almost 18 months ago) was very pleasant -- much more so than this time. This time, the place itself seemed rather tired and uninspiring. It's like a grand old lady who is getting rather run down in... Read more
