I booked a weeks vacation for my husband and I at the "Travelodge at the Falls". I knew it was a budget hotel but the reviews were good. When we arrived to check in the guy at the front desk, kept insisting that I booked at the "Thriftlodge" next door. Despite my confirmation number and calling directly to book. He continued to insist I booked at the "Thriftlodge". Since we drove 5 hours and it was next door I took a chance and we took the room anyway. So no free breakfast or refrig in the room,... Read more

Me my husband and 7 year old checked into this hotel.. We were in room 525 after being for 2 minutes we realized there was some attraction with carnival type music behind us maybe attached to motel? It was on a approx 7 minute loop over and over again... I realized we would not be able to do this over night as the attraction is open until 1:00.. I called the front desk asking for a new room.. At this time I was told it really wouldn't matter as there would be karaoke all night as well... I could... Read more

We stayed here in February with family so rented 2 rooms. The location is great which. Is why we picked this hotel. Situated right on clifton hill, it's in the heart of all the attractions. However the hotel needs a lot of updating. Everything was really old and carpets were dirty. The maze next door kept playing the music all night and couldn't get any sleep. Thankfully it wasn't peak season otherwise can't imagine the noise level. Parking fee was also added.

Truly situated in the heart of Clifton Hill. At check in, we were given fair warning over the noise that would come from the "beer garden" that featured karaoke the two nights we would be staying at the hotel. We were also required to initial a section on our check in paper work acknowledging the noise. So, if you want a quiet atmosphere during your stay in the Niagara Falls area, this isn't the place for you. As for the room itself, it was a basic "you get what you pay for" type of room. Th... Staff did not care about us. Treated us poorly. Tried to force us to pay double for parking even though I already paid for everyone prior. Was the most unprofessional place I've ever stayed at. Didn't give us the rooms I was promised on the phone when booking. Ticketed one of our cars that already paid for parking. All in all, horrible experience. Will never go back and will tell everyone I know to avoid it.

they should not allow public to park in the parking lot, and should not charge guests for parking. Check out time is 11:00 AM, after we return from breakfast at 09:00 AM, we could not enter our room, my daughter wanted to use the washroom very urgently, I had to ask the cleaner to open the door for us.

I'd like to start by saying, this hotel is not bad value. It the karaoke that takes place 50 feet from the hotel until 2:00 a.m. that's the problem. It is so loud, you can hear it like it's right in your room. And lest you try and take an afternoon nap to make up for the sleep you were deprived of the night before, it starts back up at noon. The hotel itself was clean, the staff were all very friendly and helpful and, of course, the location is great. But if you have kids, or don't want to ... Read more

Location is perfect for Clifton Hill and Casino Niagara goers. Not a great location if you're worried about noise and privacy because it's right beside a karaoke bar. Room was basic, but clean. Note that parking a car is extra.

The price and location were very good. Being on Clifton Hill you are close to everything. The room was clean with all you need. The only negative is the karaoke in the parking lot is loud and goes on till 2 AM. I would definitely go back.

Thriftlodge was situated in the heart of Clifton Hill so it was perfect for us since we walked from Rainbow Bridge New York side. The room was good size and we were given a second floor room. The hotel, most particularly the bathroom, was showing age and my daughter said it was not clean for her (the sink and the bathtub was peeling). They also make guests sign their disclaimer about the loud karaoke that would run nightly until 1AM. Good thing we were jetlagged and so we slept through the loud,... Read more

Be aware of the parking fee they charge once you get there. $10.00 on top of your room rate. This information is no where on the reservation website. Great location but in need of some major updates. The shower would go from ice cold to scorching hot in 10 sec. with no way to get it to stop fluctuating. Room was clean.

I was confused by the logos that Travelodge uses Just look at the logo on this page. When you call to make a reservation it is through Travelodgeit and can be misleading, which is what happened to me. We did not book into a Travelodge but a THRIFTlodge and where very disappointed to find out that we where not going to be getting the included breakfast we where expecting. One other thing at no time was I told that there was a Karioke bar in the courtyard that went until 2AM!!! It wasn't until ... Read more

I would book with them again. Unlike other reviews that I read, I liked being close to a karaoke stage. I found it entertaining while we sat on the balcony of the room. The staff was friendly and attended to my needs. The room was clean. My only complaint would be that it doesn't have a workout room but for the price I would definitely go back.

Where to start.. I guess with a name like "thrift lodge" I shouldn't have had such high expectations. The Check in staff was very helpful and courteous. The rooms were HORRIBLE. We were on the main floor, there was a gap under the front door of at least half an inch, with no sweeper, the beds are frumpy, the walls, especially the door was dirty/grimy the air conditioning hardly worked. A lot of people complain about the karaoke in the parking lot, that was a highlight. Kept our minds off of... Read more

Very expensive for an outdated hotel. Parking was NOT free and the hotel charged us to park on top of the high cost of the hotel. The pool is NOT on the hotel property. Instead it's at another hotel they own down the road.

I really liked the location for visiting the Falls and the general tourist spots on the Canadian side. I was not aware when booking the hotel it held an outdoor kareokee every night until 2am. We had to sign an acceptance acknowledgement of this fact at checkin. With white noise apps on our iPhones and the AC cranked up it helped but only to a point and with three young children the sleep was intermittent. The room was a good place to sleep but I take marks off for cleanliness and upkeep. Some f... Read more

The location is great, but the rooms are really not great. They are dark and gloomy with painted cinder block walls and old furniture. The pool they advertise is at a different Motel. The room was clean. This Motel seems to be better suited to getaways with friends rather than families.

Service is very helpful! We could deposit our luggage until our departure without any costs. Rooms are old and very noisy. Clifton Hill is generally very noisy but there is a Karaoke event each night directly in front of the rooms until 02.00 a.m.! For one night the accommodation is O.K. because it is very near to all attractions.

I was give a family room with 2 rooms. The smaller inside room was without an AC or even fan. When I requested to atleast place a fan in the room as the outside temperature was 36-40 degrees celcius so I was told there are no fans. The room was suffocating. Although the other connected room was equipped with an old style AC blower which was not enough. So we had to sleep on the in in one room which was having the so called AC.

the room was clean. its a bit old, smells a bit mold. The karaoke lasts until 2 am. I dont mind since I party untill 3 am lol The AC was quite noisy, but I got used to it the second night. It price is affordable consider the location. Other hotel around can cost easily double this price.

We found the hotel to be very clean and comfortable. There is an outdoor beer garden very close by, so if you aren't interested in listening, or participating, it may keep you awake at night. The location was perfect. Once we were parked, we didn't have to drive anywhere....all of the attractions are very close by. We will definitely return to this hotel on our next visit to the Falls.

We spent 1 night at the hotel and we were amazed from it's location. The place is in the middle of everything. We checked in and out in seconds. The receptionist was very polite and helpful. The parking is convenient, you can park your car literally in front of the room. The room was basic and clean. The karaoke bar is just across so if you are planning to relax during the stay this is not the best place to go.. Overall, great experience and great value.
