Overall, happy with the stay. Services great, room's clean. Pool is decent size though is always crowded. Gym is good size. Staff responded very timely to our request. We happened to have a room facing South which gave us a beautiful view both day and night. Location is great, in the heart of Montreal. The only drawback is that the hotel is quite old. Its time for renovation. And the parking garage is not managed by Marriott. Their website just said onsite parking. And the daily parking rate of... Read more

I frequently travel to Montreal on business but this was the first time that I have stayed at this motel. Since I usually take public transit while in Montreal, the first thing I noticed was how convenient it is to get to this motel from the Metro system. You just get off at the Bonaventure metro station and there is an exit that links directly to the motel without any need to go outside. Great for those cold Montreal winters for sure. However since it was late spring when I arrived I spent muc... Read more

Stayed at the Chateau Champlain in May 2016. The hotel is centrally located with an easy access to the Metro. The breakfast was Ok and the food in the hotel was decent. The lounge is really basic and serves a continental breakfast only. The staff were friendly especially the front desk staff. Really helpful and patient. The hotel is well maintained and the rooms are clean and nice with a breathtaking view of Montreal and the Mont Royal. I would stay there again and again.

This was the last night of three weeks on the road. We were expecting another night of tossing and turning in an unfamiliar environment. Not so! Comfortable and quiet. Also appreciated the check-in staff, who managed to be helpful and patient to a worn out traveler without being obsequious. Close to transportation (no need to go outside for Metro) and a short walk to Old Town. The renovations belie it's original age. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Arrived early and we were immediately checked us into a room. It was on the 17th floor with a view of the beautiful park and of the city. Our room was lovely as were the people who worked at the hotel. Cannot recommend highly enough. Everyone was so friendly and helpful including the Concierge who directed us to all of the areas that we wished to visit. If you plan to go to Montreal stay here - it is so worth it.

Overall it meets all the marks you're looking for in a hotel, especially one outside of your home country. Check-in was easy, with more emphasis on English than French. The rooms are very standard for Marriotts. The executive lounge's wood-paneled walls are like an old country estate. The hotel is old and though the rooms are kind of ok, the bathroom is really small, and th building is needing an urgent remodelation. At the restaurant the service at breakfast was very poor. We ordered "a la carte". And it took them half an hour to bring some fried eggs. The attitude of the girl that was our waitress was so inadequate. And so was the service in the restaurant to have just a coffee or lunch or dinner. Finally We decided not to eat in the hotel. Lots of things to improve.

We stayed at this hotel because of its proximity to the VIA Rail station. We were only three city blocks from the station and right in the middle of Montreal. There were parks, restaurants and attractions within easy walking distance. This was not a new hotel, but it was of modern construction and well cared for. Our upper floor room had great views of the city. There was also a breakfast spot within the hotel complex. The hotel was also attached to the Metro.

We stayed here 2 years ago and again this September. The hotel is in need of a renovation. Lots of little things .... The bathroom was old, the shower system quite antiquated by today's modern hotel standards. The carpets in the room were a mucky beige ... If felt due to their age than the interior designers plans. But the food was good, nice pool and great beds (as always in Marriott) So rating as a 3 .... Bit pricey for the overall quality

I realize everything is subjective, but I don't see how this hotel could be rated a four star property. The staff was friendly, but the room was dated and had an odor -- as did the arm chair that I made a mistake of sitting in. This was not a relaxing experience, so I checked out prior to sunrise. I'd have to see some serious renovations before I could rate this a four star property.

The hotel is located very centrally downtown Montreal. Short walking distance to the Old city. The rooms are very dated and disappointing for such costly hotel. The bathroom was old and the shower did not work (water only came to the tub). The hotel does not have its own parking, such that every time you come in and out of the parking significant charge applies.

I am a very loyal (platinum) Marriott customer. My wife and I stayed two evenings in this hotel prior to a cruise. Granted, it was warm in the city those days - highs of low 80s. We entered the room at 1:30 in the afternoon and the room temp said it was 74 degrees. When I tried to set the thermostat, I saw it was already on cool and set for 65 degrees. I called the front desk who sent up an staff member who said that the room just needed time to cool. We left the room to tour and have dinner ... Read more

This is a very busy hotel whose standard of customer service could be improved especially in the bar. The hotel is in an ideal position for visiting the main sites if only on Montreal for a few days. Views of the city from our room on the 15th floor were great. The room was a fair size but had a very small bathroom. In a hotel of Marriott level I also expect a full sized hairdryer not a travel hairdryer. I would return to hotel for its convenience

Other good reviews pointed me to this hotel, and was very pleased with the selection. Was looking to book a room in this area due to an early morning VIA Rail Canada train - the station (Gare Centrale) is a very short and easy walk even with small bags.
