This hotel was in a great Location, and had very good staff who were helpful whenever we needed information. We were within minutes walking distance from everything we were looking for. What I was less impressed about was the room rate considering the room we were in. The hotel looks like it could use some updating and some renovations if for nothing else than for visual appeal. The rooms were clean but the current state of the walls did not reflect it, or reflect the beautiful lobby area of the... Read more

Over the past few weeks I had the opportunity to stay here again - as well as at another downtown Montreal hotel - and am happy to say that the Chateau remains my favorite hotel in Montreal. I'll admit my opinion may be biased by my fondness of mid-60s architecture but that is only part of the story. The Chateau is a traditional full service hotel with a great location, spacious rooms, huge windows with fabulous views, and excellent service - what's not to like? This hotel is situated a bit south of Rene Levesque Street. Its a good location however a bit of an older hotel. As soon as you step out of the car you are greeted by very nice staff. The room I had was on the 19th floor. The room is a bit outdated however it was clean. Didn't use any of the facilities as I was in to sleep and out the next morning. Overall a nice experience for a quick in and out.

I've been staying at the Marriott now for a number of weeks on business. The staff is friendly and eager to help in any way the can. Some of the rooms face the river while others face a small park and church. There is a pool, workout room and massage area. WiFi is available for a fee. This is one of my favorite Marriott properties.
