Overall, happy with the stay. Services great, room's clean. Pool is decent size though is always crowded. Gym is good size. Staff responded very timely to our request. We happened to have a room facing South which gave us a beautiful view both day and night. Location is great, in the heart of Montreal. The only drawback is that the hotel is quite old. Its time for renovation. And the parking garage is not managed by Marriott. Their website just said onsite parking. And the daily parking rate of... Read more

I frequently travel to Montreal on business but this was the first time that I have stayed at this motel. Since I usually take public transit while in Montreal, the first thing I noticed was how convenient it is to get to this motel from the Metro system. You just get off at the Bonaventure metro station and there is an exit that links directly to the motel without any need to go outside. Great for those cold Montreal winters for sure. However since it was late spring when I arrived I spent muc... Read more

Older Marriott that has charm.... Metro station is right underneath. I was somewhat disappointed by the Concierge lounge compared to other full service Marriott's. Overall it was good and would stay here again.

Stayed at the Chateau Champlain in May 2016. The hotel is centrally located with an easy access to the Metro. The breakfast was Ok and the food in the hotel was decent. The lounge is really basic and serves a continental breakfast only. The staff were friendly especially the front desk staff. Really helpful and patient. The hotel is well maintained and the rooms are clean and nice with a breathtaking view of Montreal and the Mont Royal. I would stay there again and again.

Stayed here friday and saturday night (6/3/16 & 6/4/16). Booked last minute through priceline express. Needed two double bed since I came up with a buddy. Upon check in, front desk did give me a hard time about the request. I checked in at 4pm so didn't think it would be too difficult. She actually told me the king bed is big enough that two guys sleeping on it and wouldn't be close to each other. Ok, she is nuts! Asked her to check. After scanning 8 pages of paperwork, she said it's my lucky da... Read more

This was the last night of three weeks on the road. We were expecting another night of tossing and turning in an unfamiliar environment. Not so! Comfortable and quiet. Also appreciated the check-in staff, who managed to be helpful and patient to a worn out traveler without being obsequious. Close to transportation (no need to go outside for Metro) and a short walk to Old Town. The renovations belie it's original age. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Good hotel. Well situated, staff are helpful and rooms spacious with nice dressing area in room. Bathroom small but well appointed with usual free wifi. Easy access to restaurants and main shopping area. This is close to main rail station and the old dock area with numerous bars and restaurants. Would stay again

Concierge was a bit disappointing . Prior to traveling and reserving they told me kids were welcome . I decided to take a vacation with my family since I travel so much. Most coontries in the UK are great with accomadating children. My kids are always well mannered. We were told they were not allowed .. How upsetting . Not very nice of a well known hotel. I don't think I'll be back at this location . Besides that the hotel was at a good location. 15/20 walk to old Montreal. Good restaurants nea... Read more

I just checked into the hotel tonight. Our family arrived a little late and the front desk male clerk was extremely nice. Gave us a suggestion for dinner. Explained to us about the concierge lounge where kids are allowed but it was small. He gave us discount vouchers to the breakfast which I thought was sweet. We had connecting rooms so it was very spacious . Our view from our room is beautiful . The hotel isn't modern but very antique beautiful . Beds were comfy with huge pillows. Definitely wi... Arrived early and we were immediately checked us into a room. It was on the 17th floor with a view of the beautiful park and of the city. Our room was lovely as were the people who worked at the hotel. Cannot recommend highly enough. Everyone was so friendly and helpful including the Concierge who directed us to all of the areas that we wished to visit. If you plan to go to Montreal stay here - it is so worth it.

We have stayed here before, it is central to Old Montreal and the English section of Montreal. I booked 2 rooms for my husband and myself, and 2 adult daughters. The night before, they upgraded us to a suite which was great. It was nice because we had other relatives in town also and were able to meet in our room before dinner. The hotel rooms could use some updating, seems old and outdated. We had some issues, in addition to our other relatives, with the key cards not working. Had to go down nu... Read more

The hotel was great except for the rooms. It felt a little outdated. The gym was nice and seemed properly maintained. I would like to commend the hotel's staff because the service was outstanding. I would come back here just for the service alone.

This hotel is a little bit older which can be see with the decor but overall the experience was wonderful. I stayed with my sister in a double full size bedroom which was spacious. Room services was wonderful and the reception area is very helpful in providing directions and ideas on what to do during your stay.

The personnel are very nice....the property is clean but for the money they charge, they need to update and refurbish the whole place! We had a two bedroom / living room suite on 34th floor. It was clean and bedding very comfortable and the view was outstanding but the furniture was worn and nicked and scarred. We had access to the concierge lounge and while ok, we thought they could offer a better menu and they need to enlarge it with the number of people who use it. Having visited many con... Read more

We didn't even know it was Canada day when we landed on July 1st, and there were a lot of festivities all over the city. Jennifer at the front desk was helpful to give info re: activities and the bellmen were helpful with routes to take. They even lent us an umbrella because it was scheduled to rain that afternoon. That was really a nice touch. Our room was on 36th floor with nice view and I really like the room and the bathroom was large and luxurious. I don't find it outdated as others were sa... Read more

The Marriott is 3 blocks uphill to St Catherine and about 20 minutes walk to Old Montreal. There is a Metro stop connected to the hotel and it is near the highway for good access to the airport. There is a Starbucks on site and a cafe to the connected building. In general nothing much to write home about. The bathroom is a bit cramped, the bathroom door is too close to the toilet. And when I checked in, the tissue paper was almost gone. Granted that there was a spare roll in the room, they... Read more

This 35-floor hotel was built in the mid 1960!'s and from the exterior looks like any other poured concrete monstrosity of its age. Accurately called the "cheese grater" because of its half moon Windows one of the real positives of staying at the hotel is you don't have to assault your eyeballs by looking at it! In fact inside all is very high quality and service oriented, a very enjoyable bar is situate next to the restaurant where we enjoyed a good breakfast daily. Our 29th floor room was larg... Read more

This luxurious hotel is located in downtown Montreal. Oddly, with its half moon Windows, it looks like a giant cheese grater. I loved the city view from our window. The room was very comfortable, especially the bed. We had to leave very early to catch a flight and the staff had left a box breakfast for us.

So close to the office and the underground mall and downtown. Lovely architecture, great staff. The room service food was great. I had one issue with my thermostat and they fixed it immediately and brought me a fan to ensure I was cool enough. Great service overall!

My husband and I stayed here for two days after we left from another hotel (Delta) that was terrible. The staff here was very nice and ready to help in any ways. We got upgraded to a nice suite:) Bartender was very nice, and the waitress too during lunch one day. Disappointed that the concierge does NOT have any hot food for breakfast! The hotel costs $250 per night but the furnishings of the hotel is old. The mattresses curve down when you lie on it. The bath tub has stains on it. The "Privacy" sign is missing from the room. The fridge is locked if you do not intend to use the mini-bar. You cannot store any cold drinks. The cleaning people did not replenish the coffee pouches or foam cups. We stayed at the Montreal Marriott Chateau Champlain for 5 nights. It's in a great location and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. If you eat breakfast in the hotel's restaurant, which we highly recommend, be sure you ask to sit in Sophie's section - not only is she a great waitress, she very personable and funny - we thoroughly enjoyed her every morning. The hotel's website states the rooms were updated/remodeled in 2011 - by that, they truly mean the rooms, NOT the suites, so if a... Read more

We enjoyed a weekend stay here and found all the staff that we encountered to be friendly and helpful. We had a nice room overlooking the city. The room while not big was clean but the bathroom was tiny ?? in order to close the bathroom door, you had to stand between the toilet and the counter! There was a nice atmosphere in the bar. Parking was easy. Convenient location especially to the Bell Center and St. Catherine??s. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location to visit churches, old Montreal, Center Bell, other sites in downtown. Has self parking. No problem. Stayed on concierge level which turned out to be great. Breakfast and evening food very good. Can print boarding passes there. Only advise in evening go fairly early because one evening one man was there who was a big time "hog" and he ate a huge amount of food which probably left less for the later arrivals. Staff was helpful and friendly. Not being able to speak French no proble... Read more

There were a lot of things I liked about this hotel and some I did not. The valet and unloading area is way too small and always packed with parked cars making it almost inaccessible. There is ample parking in the attached garage however it was two trips, and two elevators each time to bring up luggage from the car since the loading/valet area was blocked and there is no place to wait on the busy surrounding streets. Our room was average size with really comfortable beds and lots of pillows. ... Read more

This is an old, but renovated Marriott. If you are attending a conference at Palais des congrès de Montréal, please know that it is about a mile away. Metro is an option but there are closer hotels than this. Not too many food / bar options close by, but a 5 to 10 minute walk will put you in several areas that have many options. Staff is great, and it provides a typical Marriott experience for guest rooms. They do have mini bars, but charge extra if you want a refrigerator. The concierge... Read more

We found this hotel without too much difficulty. Always a good start. We did the self parking but wished we had opted for the valet parking instead but that was purely because I was in a wheelchair and it would have made life easier. Check in was straightforward and we were given a lovely room on a high floor. The view from the arched window of downtown Montreal was stunning and the room itself was very comfortable. We stayed at the Chateau for part of our summer vacation. From the moment we pulled up too the frome door, the staff was amazing. First of all, they don't tell you until after you've already parked, but if you don't valet it, you don't have in/out privileges. That wasn't an issue for us, because we walked everywhere, but if you need your car, make sure you valet it. The hotel is in the financial district, and a short walk to many great restaurants and it seemed like all of the festivals were a quick walk away, which was wonderful. It made us grateful to not have stayed in Old Montreal. The room was a basic, older room,... Read more
