This hotel didn't meet expectations for the brand or class. Rooms seemed dirty with old bathtubs and old caulking. They missed the mark on the small things that mean a lot to women business travellers such shower caps in rooms and decent hairdryer instead o the one stuck on the wall. There was also no bottled water in the rooms, another pet peeve of mine. Common spaces were fine, conveniently located on top of shopping mall. There are nicer places to stay in this city for the same price.

VERY disappointing. The room was naff and the view didn't exist. On the 4th night water began coursing along an old leak and dripping onto a soon saturated carpet in a water torture tapping rythm while the hairdressers there for conference giggled, screamed, puked & rode the elevators like a rented mule all night. Breakfast bar was shameful by Hyatt standards - food was cold, eggs were poured from a carton and there were TATER TOTS in the buffet with a hefty jug of ketchup plunked beside them! ... Read more

The a hotel is perfectly located in Downtown, walking distance from all major attractions. Friendly, clean, great view from the 10th floor, very quiet room. It is slightly outdated, can use some bathroom update. Regency Club has expresso coffee and tea at any time, great afternoon meals and night deserts. Overall a very positive experience

Rooms are in desperate need of repair and renovation. The bathroom was literally falling apart. The tub was separating from the wall, where green mold was seen beside the chipped paint. The bedding was old. The whole feel of the room was not what I expect from a Hyatt, which I frequent often. Only stayed one night as a stopover on my way to Old Quebec from Long island, NY. The location was the only good thing about this property.

If you go with the right mindset, you'll have the most interesting conversations given your ability to approach people, it may have been a fluke, who knows. A mix of old Québec immigrants hybrids, Americans, quebecers, educated and well spoken in general at the bar. I was there on Québec national holiday pre-party, June 23rd. one of the waitresses, gave me amazing service, I'm a whisky mami, had a great blend of refined liquor, and a killer pasta, gentlemen at the bar and ladies at the bar... This is your classic downtown hotel with very impressive common areas, a great location, but the rooms are starting to wear just a bit. It's still a very nice hotel and I would recommend it, just know you'll notice the hotel has been around a bit when you are in your room. The location is within easy walking distance of just about anything you'd want to see in the heart of Montreal, and that makes it a great place to stay.

We arrived in Montreal for the Jazz Festival on Wednesday, June 29th. Our rooms were ready, clean, and spacious. Easy check-in, parking and bell service. The Hotel is walking distance to many of the sites, ports and Jazz venues. We have a 'special needs' young woman with us and the hotel personnel were very accommodating and considerate.I must thank Naomi, the hostess at breakfast, who was always friendly and helpful with securing our table of 7. This Hyatt Regency is rather impersonal as it has a busy railway station feel, with hordes of people coming and going all the time. The reception and bar area are very dark and the décor gives one the feeling of being in a nightclub. There are, however, a few areas that are brighter and a small outdoor terrace area, which I am sure would be pleasant in good weather. The rooms are comfortable, but average and décor is a little tired. The best thing about staying here is it's wonderful location ... Read more

The place needs a facelift ( not a major one) Mostly bathroom, shower heads and taps. Check in is crazily busy. The location is sensational and is worth the minor inconveniences. Especially for any major festivals (eg. Jazz Festival) you are in the center of the action

It is the only hotel that has a huge terrace overlooking the festival grounds of the Montreal Jazz festival and yet their bar was not open until late afternoon. There was very little shaded areas. Sad, as with a little investment the place could be packed and making a lot of money!!! Very disappointed!!

Perfect location and beautiful hotel. Did not reserve with hotel but used Expedia. We saved $100!!! Valet parking over $30 but having the option on weekends of using public parking for $11 for the weekend. An excellent option if you are planning to park it and not go in and out. We were fortunate to have adjoining rooms within not often enough available. The concierge was very helpful in aiding us with both bus tour and dinner reservations. Umbrella's available for loan with the rain.

I have mixed feelings about this hotel. We stayed here for 2 days, and was impressed at the location of the hotel. this is a great hotel to stay at if you are checking out the Jazz fest, and I have to say that in general we found the staff to be very nice. The rooms were a decent size as well... those are the good things. There were a few major negatives about this hotel - firstly, the condition of the hotel is deteriorating. We stayed in this hotel at the beginning and the end of our trip in Canada and where surprised of the central location just in the middle of lots of activities at the time. Rooms are spacious and clean, staff is friendly although the infrastructure is not quite top modern. We enjoyed the inside pool. The bar on the terrace has a great view over the street and the Place des Arts.

The hotel is connected to Complexe Desjardins (a mall) and is very convenient for shopping and food. It is just across from Place des Arts, so it really has the best location if you go to see a show/concert or for the festival (I was here during the Montreal jazz festival and the big scene was literally in front of the hotel). The receptionist gave room with the best view for the festival: 924 (has connecting door with 926, so it is great if you travel with kids). Best view of the festival in... Read more

Great location of this hyatt. Efficient checkin-out. However, I have been many times in this hotel before; didn't got the impression they were aware.. Friendly staff. Refurbished breakfast , bar diner area. However rooms have the brown look and feel of the seventies. Small bathroom. Not anymore at par in 2016.

We used Hyatt points to get two free nights in Montreal, about a four hour drive from our home near Saratoga Springs, NY. The hotel was in very good shape and a short walk to several nice restaurants, Chinatown, and the Museum des Beaux Arts. Ivan at the concierge was most helpful in suggesting places to dine, and he also got the reservations. We drove but parked the car for two days (at C$21 per day). You probably should also. There is no place to park your car if you drive it to a restaurant. ... Read more

This hotel is quite advantageous when taking in a festival or other event in the area of the Place Des Arts. Everything happens directly in front of the hotel, on St. Catherine St. The hotel sits on top of an underground mall with a wide choice of food options as well as direct access to the Metro and Chinatown. A nice swimming pool as well.

My boyfriend and I travelled here 4 days the hotel location was great however the staff was nice until we noticed our iPad we brought with us was stolen from our room. When we reported the issue they promised to get back to us and told us we were being impatient .. Only because we had a flight an hour after we had this issue. To end it off we will not be coming back to the Hyatt, and do not recommended bringing any valuables chances are you will not have them by the end of your stay!!!

Some rooms are very small and hotel lobby/rooms are a bit more difficult to reach however inner decoration and the great large terrasse make easily up for it !

This hotel is casual yet I was not disappointed. The staff were all excellent. Well, except the concierge who is a bit burnt out. But in general I would recommend this hotel to most people...except kids. It is more of an adult oriented facility for business professionals and conference attendees I think. I don't like kids these days and it is better for them to go to one of those "family oriented" places that are truly geared for entertaining kids. Many parents these days have zero control... Check-in was quick and easy, although as a Platinum member I did have to go back down to front desk to request complimentary water bottles. I expected them to be in the room. The cold fruit-infused water in the lobby was a nice touch though, especially during the hot summer days we were in town.
